Channel M

Hiya chaps I produce the hour long football show & try to cover Latics most weeks as Inspiral said - whether it be a reserve match, player interview, Latique feature, protest march etc. Channel M news is a very different beast located in a different building. They will have picked up on the story because of the residents issues. The reporter had very little 'sport' knowledge. It is annoying as they failed to cover the protest march when the initial bid was turned down. However, a few episodes ago our football show gave about 4 minutes of coverage to the march and fell heavily on the side of the club. Please don't let the Ch M news angle put you off watching our soccer show. Especially if you enjoy watching the likes of Mossley, Curzon Ashton & Woodley Sports!

We're trying to get on freeview but it costs millions of pounds for the licence. I think next year the analogue signal will no longer exist and 70% of our viewers watch through a terrestrial arial in the Manchester region. So, if we can't negotiate with freeview it'll have a big impact on how we operate. That's my take on it anyway - i'm sure the powers here have the full answer.

Hi The timings given are for television only - the website doesn't follow a schedule - you just click on the links to watch the programmes whenever you want. However, the system is being given an overhaul ready for a new website on Monday morning so this weeks episode might not be put up until then. Keep clicking on Channel M - 'The Great Manchester Football Show' and see if Ep 6 is there. It might appear later this afternoon. The management took some persuading for us to cover lower leagues and i'm hoping that they will be convinced that there actually is an audience for a programme like this (covering all the divisions). I know it's not Sky Sports standard but there's only a couple of us making the show.

Chaddy - from Oct 5th the programme will move to an hour long slot on Friday 19.00. We'll start running the mascot quiz then. Haven't decided in which order but i'll let you know.

On the programme this week - We catch up with Man City fans & pundits at the Reddish Blue's media night. There's coverage of a Q&A session with Oldham Athletic's John Sheridan & Neil Kilkenny plus highlights of Latics reserves against Leicester. Ashton v Stockport are in friendly action plus we hear from the Macclesfield camp ahead of the weekend trip to Rochdale. Thursday 19.30 & 23.00 Friday Midday & midnight Saturday 11.30 & 14.00 (Note - Rochdale U18s v Oldham U18s plus Philliskirk interview supposed to be aired but the strong reserve team took preference - hopefully this match will be shown in a later episode).
