  1. Taking the positives from this, it's great to see that PD understands the need to strengthen the LB position. And that next season is already being planned for in terms of signings rather than just a stop gap for the next 10 games. That's the most frustrating thing, that this wasn't just a loan for a few months but for next season as well. Shame it didn't come off.
  2. It must have taken Mr. Corney a while going through all the match DVDs and editing all the bits together. Looks like the club want to get the best price for an asset this summer.
  3. When Stevenage hit the 91st minute winner last night many of us will have thought FFS NOT AGAIN! I am bored enough to have checked out results from the last three seasons to see how often this misfortune strikes us. And to see if it evens out by us hitting teams with our own sucker punch. From August 2009 we have suffered either a draw or defeat due to an 89th minute (or later) goal in 7 games From August 2009 we have claimed either a draw or victory due to an 89th minute (or later) goal in 4 games There have been plenty of other last minute goals but these haven't effected the result/outcome and were mere consolation goals or compounded a victory. There have been other goals in say 85th/86th minutes (e.g. Hudds (a) Chesterfield JPT (h) that stick in the craw but none annoy quite as much as a '89 or '90. Obviously, history reminds of horrible moments like Mark Hughes. But then we have our Sheff Wed Championship moment. All completely pointless but I feel less persecuted having checked.
  4. Build a wall and get some local artist to paint a football mural. Install some speakers into said wall and pump out 'owtb' on a loop for 90 mins.
  5. Why not try a different formation to accommodate our 3 fit centre backs and lack of left back? Cisak - GK Lee- RWB (loves to attack and has good energy levels) Mvoto - CB Tarky - CB Diamond - CB Taylor - LWB (can defend ok and covers ground well) M'Changaman - CM Adeyemi - CM Morais - Floating free role Reid - CF Kuqi - CF
  6. A bit, possibly. And maybe he feels unfairly treated at being continually played out of position rather than upfront. But with hindsight it does seem a cruel blow for a lad like Paul Black who's come through our ranks to miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity. I know you have to "play the game and not the occassion" but, regardless of the result, I would much rather lads like Black had been involved than Parker getting 30 mins on the wing. Especially as he didn't seem to want to play in that position. Not Parkers fault though I agree. Not a nice job for Dickov to decide who to leave out for a game like that.
  7. He's been a huge disappointment and I can't remember a positive contribution in any game from him. Such a shame that some of the other lads missed out on game time at Anfield whilst Josh made it on to the pitch. Undeserved.
  8. Maybe we can have Norwood if Cov haven't paid the bills. Perhaps United have cancelled his loan?
  9. Maybe the poor midweek reserve game was a factor coz Dux said he was pissed off with a few performances and those players knew who they were. From memory though Parker has only contributed a few goals in pre season friendlies. Nothing more going forward but maybe more disciplined tracking back than Morais.
  10. In a dream world Hudds would cancel his contract and make him a free agent in time for the Southend replay. If Santa was a Latics fan this would happen.
  11. Just shown the goals on SKY. Superb finish from Mellor with his weaker foot. Very strange reaction from Reid who seemed to be the only Oldham player not to celebrate and just casually walked away. Dagnall goal was a good un running at pace at Diamond with Wez in hot pursuit. Good run good finish. Great shape on the Morais FK for Smith who won the header in a crowded area. Mvoto very unlucky with the 2nd yellow he challenged but stayed on his feet and their lad collapsed. No wonder we picked up 7 yellows with decisions like that.
  12. Tonks is a good player. Will go on to have a good career above League One level. But some Oldham fans will still maintain that he's crap coz he scuffed a few chances and miscontrolled a few balls on loan as a kid in his first ever full season. Seen his goal for Sunderland on SSN? Great finish to pass it into the corner. He tried that a few times last season without success. Practice makes perfect.
  13. Yes mate. 300 were repped so should still be a good few in stock at We Are Latics. I think they hide em away by the shop counter! Can buy in store or also online via the official
  14. Cheers Prozac - much appreciated feedback. Dunno about doing it again as it was pretty much a freebie and took a huge amount of time & effort to make. Simply getting access to all the home & away games was hard enough and had to pull in a lot of favours. The poor run of form was a kick in the nuts but the club wanted to honour the agreement so Part 2 was made. Like you say though, we looked pretty decent and going through all those games actually made me feel positive about this season. A few tweaks and we have a team - and if they have a good season I might even be tempted to make 2011/12 DVD!
  15. Hi Everyone knows the reasons not to buy DVD Part 2. Here's a quick trailer plus some good reasons to add this to your collection. 1. If you bought Part 1 - and around 200 people did - surely you'll want to complete the set and own Part 2!! 2. It's only £9.99 3. Quality Goals - The standard of the strikes is very high. When we found the back of the net it was, more often than not, very pleasing on the eye. We rarely scored a bad 'un. 4. Quality Play - The lads played some great stuff last season with fewer duff performances than you might think. There were plenty of entertaining games with high level build up from Dickov's lads. We weren't effective from set pieces or long balls so chances had to be crafted! 5. Taylor & Morais - these two are very watchable. The Ginger Prince & Flip Flap Phil produced something special in most games they played in. They have the potential to hit double figures in both goals & assists in the forthcoming season! 6. We scored 4 in a match! Remember the excitement when we hit 3 goals v Notts County for the first time in years! Well we went on to score 4 goals v Hartlepool - surely worth £9.99 on it's own!! 7. The Tonk Scores - An early fans favourite who ran out of steam - enjoy the moment he hit a purple patch of 2 in 2 v Plymouth & Brentford. Plus, gasp in horror at his missed sitters v Carlisle (a) & Walsall (a) 8. Feeney Scores - well nearly - but his first league goal of the season was cruelly chalked off v Walsall (h). Get some beers in, invite your family & friends round and relive the decision over & over again debating whether the linesman was right or not. 9. There are big margins on this product so buy a copy and help the club at the same time. 10. Last season may well have been a catalyst for a fantastic 2011/12. Let's keep the faith in Dickov & Oldham. Buy a slice of history!!
  16. Didn't we finish level on points but ahead of Tranmere due to win at Prenton? Us 17th them 18th?
  17. Why would C.Davies have wanted to play for Shez again?
  18. Do you think this is all an ingenius plan to get the Man City Elite Development squad to play some more competitive games?
  19. Gonna be some good City kids heading to Rochdale on loan now eh?
  20. Part 2 will be released. And you will ALL buy it!!
