It’s completely different. Even at 50% you could most of that division away. I could get a couple of my old mates who I played with and beat Newcastle.
when the rugby played swinton and York who are struggling they were blown away.
They have played four Championship teams. Won two, lost two.

I thought he came over well.
Sounds like we might have some big concert events in the future.

If you make it clear he has full autonomy, which I have no argument with, then it is very clear the buck stops with the manager.
So the line goes:
We want to run a good business, we want stability, we want to back the manager and give him his head, but he will succeed and fail by his decisions which he has control of.

Very interesting.
Intrigued to know what the business model game changer is?
Pretty clear sideswipe at the players about fans wanting to see a team that is trying and cares.
Puts onus squarely on the manager and Head of Recruitment (?) for transfers and playing standards. Quite steely there, I thought.
Praised the Rothwells family, quite rightly, for their commitment and level or investment, but suggested that it wouldn't be there at that level in the future

Sadly I think that boat's sailed in this country as the Premier League has inflated the cost of assembling a decent team way too far beyond the funds availed from what's left of our local businessmen and the national and multi-national businesses just aren't interested in sponsoring teams at out level or just above.
Unfortnately Frank is a "one off".......thabkfully though he's our "one-off" !!
When the most prosperous and greedy clubs decamp to some European or global league that should deflate football in this country and make it more viable financially.
Sadly it no longer is.

They're all playing for a contract. Most of first team aren't
Most of our players have a vested interest in being in this division. Not many are good enough for higher and lower usually means part time.

Some of these gotta be worth trying to get. Especially the midfielders

Wouldn't mind Tozer.

A very good, long and detailed article about Southend in today's Guardian.

Hendon was a particularly bad day
The only time I've ended up wanting Latics to lose a game.

Can you go back a bit further than that?
Barry Hartle.

Jack Rowley got around 16 months.
When Jimmy McIlroy was manager the chant was ' Sack Mac , bring back Jack!'
So we did
The chant was subsequently reversed.

Might be some interesting pickings from Hartlepool.

You wouldn't sign Hart from Sutton. Third relegation from League 2 in five years.

Madden would be the perfect replacement for Norwood,
I think we should go all in for Conn-Clarke if Alty fail in the play offs.
Slow, overweight, one footed, can't tackle or head the ball.... but the best footballer in the division.
A modern John Robertson.

The Hogan business doesn't stack up to me, he's average at best and I wouldn't need any sort of reason to drop him and I'd presumed he continued to play him because of his professionalism, that though is now being questioned.
We've carried him in games lately and he's been awful, what I cannot understand is how he was allowed to play enough games to trigger a new deal, that's an expensive fuck up by someone as we need better both in his position and as Captain. I wouldn't have an outgoing Captain around a squad, it undermines the new one and it can also create mixed messages within the group particularly if there are cliques.
Hogan seems a very flawed leader with his favourites, who he doesn't challenge eg Kitching, Norwood.
His treatment of Sutton , who we know struggles, is very poor. Aggressively bawling him out repeatedly is something other than leadership.
He confronts the refs and pushes them into a corner rather than working to get them to give us a hearing.
He has one clear error a game in him at least eg he started the rot against Fylde at home.
He also has a vested interest in staying at this level as it is the best he's going to get.
Given the options locally, I fear we are stuck with him.

It was Freeman's last game.

Then again, Rochdale hardly tried to cross the halfway line.

AFC Fylde have apparently increased the interest in Reid.
Conlon is going to take over the captaincy.
We are looking at the Fleetwood winger who was on loan at Rochdale.
Cian Hayes. Played very well in the Spotland game.

It may be he would take less at Cheltenham for a longer contract than he has with us.

Fondop renegotiated in autumn 2022 after a burst of form and will be on much more than £800.
Both Tollit and Norman did so at a similar time.

Fondop might have had enough of this anyway
I think Fondop will get a deal somewhere else. The only one I might have re employed, but happy for him to go.

Somebody with a sense of humour at the club?
I think it was a mistake. The font used for ' Retained List' was different to the one the club uses.
Amusing, though.

I think it was a hoax.

I think most of us over mid 50 year old would have been there.
I remember the clang of John Platt's head on the goalpost when John King barged him into it. Awful foul.

The Altrincham director of football is leaving and a chap on Facebook said he was Oldham bound.
Very much a data man.
