  1. the counter-argument is that if you give it away then at least it is in the least dangerous place still, whereas if you cross it in the keeper might catch and launch it down the other end.

    Liverpool 0–2 Arsenal (26 May 1989)

A Barnes run was intercepted by Richardson, and he passed the ball back to his goalkeeper John Lukic. Lukic bowled the ball out to right-back Lee Dixon; his long ball to Alan Smith was flicked on, finding Michael Thomas surging forward from midfield. Thomas evaded a challenge by Nicol and raced into the penalty area, slipping the ball past the advancing Grobbelaar to score Arsenal's second

Former 'tic Bruce Grobbelaar still blames John Barnes for this title loss because he did not take the ball into the corner.

I'm all for it once we get into stoppage time.

  2. Am personally expecting something like Shrewsbury's stadium but only a little bit bigger. Maybe even something like Warrington Wolves RL ground

    Halliwell%20Jones%20Panoramic.jpg

Capacity of 14000 (although one stand is terracing), replace the terracing with seats and I imagine the capacity would be between 12k-13k?

Quite like the Wolves ground meself, and have always enjoyed it there.

But that may me just the large standing only stand and the ability to have a "cold drink" during the game.

  3. No. I'd rather support the team to get out of this mess than just add to the problems we have already..

    +1

Any loosely arranged "protest" will simply attract even more nobs to BP than usual.

People with no intrest in the wellbeing of the club or its future direction, who would just show up "cos it might kick off with the stewards and police and that, it will be a laugh".

    No thanks.

Protest? Vote with your feet and your wallet and go and watch COG bang them in at Dale for a couple of weeks, TTA & DP will get the message loud and clear.

  4. Pretty Much doing the same thing here...

Terminator Salvation - I had to watch this in two sittings as boredom struck after about 45mins.

The Hangover - Loved this for the most part. If you liked this and have not seen Zack and Miri make a Porno you're missing out. **link is for the US "R" rated trailer, NSFW**

The Taking of Pelham 123 - LOVE the original so have kept away from this. I would probably enjoy it as a stand alone movie, but I know I would constantly be comparing it to the original.

Inglorious Basterds / District 9 - Have these two ready for the weekend.

    Also, everyone should watch

  5. Great show last night!

Ross Pearson looked awesome, Bispings' second round performance was the best of his career (HUGE win that one), The Outlaw vs GSP  ...

Thought the main event could have gone either way, but Randy always seems to get the rub with his "I will hold you against the cage" tactics.

Also, massive news breaking after the show...

Brock Lesnar is in extremely bad shape and it will be some time as to when he will fight again.

Lesnar, 32, went to Canada last week to try to get some rest, collapsed, and was rushed to the hospital. He has mono and also something else that he has requested confidentiality with the UFC as to what it is. Dana White said tonight that he promised Lesnar to keep the disease private, and said he doesn't have cancer or AIDS. It is, however, extremely serious and there are at least two things wrong and there may be more.

Dana White is heading to Minnesota and will be working to get Lesnar to the Mayo Clinic or equivalent medical facility for treatment.

Also, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has a very serious staph infection and his fight with Cain Velasquez at UFC 108 is off. Nogueira will need an IV to hopefully get the infection out.

With Lesnar out indefinitely, Shane Carwin has undergone knee surgery, so he will not be available to face Velasquez at UFC 108.

  6. Shame that, I was going to suggest a meet if there were a few off here going. I'm going with a mate that I train with, but the more the merrier....

Definately get something sorted for the next one...

I've already had to knock away games on the head for the time being, and can't justify spending on something I can watch for free at home (this must be what it feels like to be a Premier League fan).

  7. I will be placing money on Rogers, I smells an upset

    FFS.

Decided to give it a miss on Sat and just watch on TV instead.

Purely a financial decision, it will still be £50+ blagging a top tier ticket of a tout when you factor in parking etc...

Quite gutted at missing seeing Randy fight live though.

    • The Danny Baker Show (5live Sat morning show with all the news / travel edited out)
    • The Football Ramble (Best Football Podcast out there IMO. Will take a few listens to get the show specific jokes)
    • iTunes Meet the author (Q & A sessions with various authors, some better than others)
    • The Perfect 10 (Phill Jupitus & Phil Wilding answer 10 questions in 30 mins)
    • Transition by Iain Banks (New novel being serialised via podcast - albeit abridged)
  8. November 7th, Sears Centre, IL.

    * Heavyweight bout: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers

    * Middleweight Championship bout: Jake Shields vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller

    * Light Heavyweight bout:Gegard Mousasi vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou

    * Heavyweight bout: Fabricio Werdum vs. Antonio Silva

This will now be shown on Bravo on Sunday 8th, from what I can gather it will be the full show and not an edited highlights package.

I will be placing money on Rogers, I smells an upset

  9. Sounds like an inside job if they knew the keys were in Priests shoes!!

I always put my valubles in my shoes when needing to change for swimming / golf etc...

I used to think that no criminal mind could penetrate such a fortress of security, how wrong I was.

I suspect a mastermind on the level of Professor James Moriarty may be behind todays heinous crime.

This just shows that we need to be extra vigilant during these dark days.

    :detectivegm0:
