It just shows how rinky dink our Promotional / Marketing department* is when people are congratulating the club on placing an Ad in the local free 'paper!
*if such a thing exists in the post Jarvis era.

There is a pretty decent one page article on the proposed Failsworth move in the new issue of When Saturday Comes (not sure if it's in the shops yet, as I subscribe and always get it early).
As you can guess from the Heading, the main angle taken for the piece is the conflict between Latics and Failsworth Dynamos for the same site.
It is a well written, balanced piece (by Brian Simpson, if anyone knows of him) although at one point it does state "The Latics have a track record for innovation" which left me scratching my head before realising it was just referencing the plastic pitch.
The conclusion reached is basically "why can't we all get along" - seeing an opportunity for the professional and amateur games to work more closely together is going to be lost.

That'll be the weekend sorted then.

LESNAR FACES ‘BIGGEST’ TEST TO DATE AGAINST COLOSSUS CARWIN AT UFC 106®
PLUS THE RETURN OF FORMER CHAMPION TITO ORTIZ
Live from Mandalay Bay Events Center, Saturday, November 21
Las Vegas, NV (USA) – Brock Lesnar has faced some of the best heavyweight fighters in the world. The Ultimate Fighting Championship® heavyweight title holder dominated seasoned veteran Heath Herring and put away former UFC® champions Randy Couture and Frank Mir. On Saturday, Nov. 21, Lesnar will have to pick on someone his own size when he takes on the undefeated 6-foot-3, 262-pound top contender Shane Carwin at UFC 106: LESNAR vs. CARWIN, live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Also on the card, one of the brightest stars in UFC history returns, as former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz battles UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman in what promises to be a ground war of epic proportions.

UFC105 news:
The bout between Lil Nog and Luiz Arthur Cane has been moved to UFC 106, but Randy Couture vs Brandon Vera has been moved into 105 as the main event.
Just come on here to post that news...
For me, this has just become a must go to event.

Beware, this guy has the ability to ruin the club more completely than any owner/manager or player. I for one wojuld like ot see him removed from the show given his outburst higher up the forum.
If he slanders the owners then the they may well have the ammunition they need to walk away and bankrupt us.
Really?
*shakes head in utter disbelief*
Wow.

I'm not sure equating players to p*rn movies is a good idea. Surely this would simply encourage the players to shoot wildly from outside the box and miss the target?
-
Why? I've just checked your link and it's miles more expensive.
250 x A6 full colour flyers, front and back on glossy card: £30. Bargain.
Yeah, I'll give you that. We're not really geared towards the short run stuff. Although for 10000 A6 flyers we are 56% cheaper than the industry standard.
Our customers also delight in our guaranteed turnarounds, award winning design and commitment to environmental projects, even the great David Bellamy is a fan!
Anyway, enough shameless shilling...

Right then, bulletpoints it is;
- didn't pick a single winner from UFC 102, but quite enjoyed it none the less.
- UFC 105 looks poor, won't be buying a ticket in advance but may well pitch up on the day and chance it with a tout.
- Great to see little Nog again
- Nice to see Ch5 getting involved, they will be showing a weekly 1 hour highlight show and TUF 10 on 5 USA
- Speaking of which, the trailer is here and is damn fine
- BRF may have been inspired by this thread on Sherdog for the MS paint thread, but if not this is genius

Looks like 11 strangers out there
That's because they pretty much are at the moment.
Mid-table finish this season, onwards and upwards from there.

Our fans are turning me off this club more than the results.
I haven't read much on here tonight, but this pretty much sums up my feelings.
Not on the same level as the Richard Butcher abuse at Barnsley (where I was truly ashamed to be wearing the Blue shirt), but toe curlingly embarrassing none the less.
It's one thing to give up on a game that is over at half time (Cardiff 1 - 7, Hereford away last year) and try and salvage the day / night by having "the craic", but abusing your own players during a game that could have gone either way if one or two chances had fallen differently is pretty disgraceful.
I'm probably wrong to question the "loyal supporters" though, what do I know?
-
No credit for Blackman?
Yeah, I thought he did quite well on the whole.
-
Gregan and Hazell are a partnership with disaster waiting to happen, every game.
What he said.

It would be good to see an English show without Bisping on it, if only to see the impact it would have in terms of revenue.
It's my guess that Bisping is not the draw over here that UFC believe him to be, and the show would do just as well without him - especially with a Penn / Sanchez title fight.
The title fight coupled with other UK fighters on the card, especially the ones with recent TUF exposure, would mean a pretty successful show.
Having said that, I'd like to see a Bisping / Hamill rematch at some point, but that may work better in the states (is Hamill still with UFC?).
"The Outlaw" = Dan Hardy right? I was jumping around like an excited 7 year old on Christmas Morning when he got the decision over Marcus Davis! Actually, a European show without that "American Irish" tit is unusual too.

Any sign of a headlock yet?

Fixed
Crikey, when the club tries something new the vocal minority objectors come out too!Colleagues and clients. I have an action plan. That my four children will one day enjoy a scenario where they will not be assessed on their offline characteristics, but on their skillsets and key competencies. -
what the latics 'development' squad is and the latics 'challenge' games are please
not having a dig really, i just thought we were an english football club and not an American NFL team
This has been annoying me somewhat, and is indeed mumbo jumbo pish of the highest order.
I get enough of this "management speak" at work, you know the world has gone mad when your Quality Manager has his job title changed to Process Variation Investigator.
Pish.

Overeem is ridiculously "chisled" these days, still, that is one hell of a standing Guillotine he's got.
Did you see the Rua / Machida fight? They have to look at changing the judging criteria for MMA, that decision was simply unbelievable.
