  1. BOUNDARY BLUES/CHADDY'S GANG AWAY TRIP TO HUDDERSFIELD

We will be taking a coach to Huddersfield on Saturday 12th February 2011.

The coach will leave Boundary Park at 1:15pm and the cost will be £13 for members and £22 for non-members/parents.

The price includes travel to and from the game and your entry to the match.

This is a great price as last season’s match ticket prices were £12 for under 16s and £24 for adults.

Tickets are available from ‘We Are Latics’ club shop from approx 6.30pm tonight

    Thanks

    Lisa

  2. Might be a ray of hope here Shaker.

My three nephews were all select to be mascots for three home games coming up but all three want to just do one game - Peterborough. If the club approves then it will free up two games, Brentford and Dags.

I have PM Lisa on here this week to advise that this is what the lads want to do. TBA if all three can do the one game if the club approve.

You may want to PM Lisa on here to see if your lads want to step in because this was my thought, free up two games for two other kids.

    Just an idea

Thanks Underdog, I have sent a pm to Shaker. Unfortunately those 2 games have already gone as they are coming in the next few weeks but hopefully I can sort something out for him.

Hiya Lisa, can you see shaker's comments below. My three nephews as you know have been selected and only want to do one game - Peterbrough. This will free up Brentford & Dags game for two other kids to be mascot. I pm you this week but I don't know if you got it & if it is still okay with the club - thanks

It's fine for the 3 to do the game together. I replied to you, did you not get it? If not, can you email me on boundary.blues@gmail.com ? I need your email address that's all, it's easier to do things via email than letter!!

real, I have to have a little say on this.

Yes they do. An example is my three nephews that Lisa has mentioned, all three have only just only joined BB at the start of the season and the xmas party was there first party and all three got selected to be mascots.

So the odds are pretty good

However the cost to kit them all out, well that's all their birthdays, easter, Xmases pressies sorted until they are 40.....

Yes Real, that's about right. We have approx 180 members aged 6 - 16. Most of the time, it's the younger ones who want to be a mascot, we've had teenagers turn the chance down as they feel they are too old. There's 23 league games a season, plus any away games we can take a mascot to and then there's the home cup games, so on average 30 mascots per season. We try and stick to the rule that if a child has been a mascot in the previous 12 months then they shouldn't do it again. Based on all those facts, the chances of being picked out is pretty high!!!

  3. I wasn't going to raise it. However, now we're onto the placing of the apostrophe, I can report that the back-pack for my grandson says in gold lettering "Chaddys Gang". So I've had to invest in a gold pen to add the missing apostrophe before giving it to him.

I would like to point out that I wasn't responsible for ordering those!!!

  4. Ok, I am replying with my Boundary Blues hat on!!

I had been made aware of mascot auction this morning, before the news was put on the website. So, yes, we had been told in advance however, as I also have a full time job to do I had not seen the email and didn't know anything about it until I received a phone call.

The mascot place is being auctioned purely to try and make some additional revenue for the club.

Boundary Blues members are all given the chance to be mascots. The mascot draws take place twice a year at the parties and we are aware that every child cannot attend every party, therefore you DO NOT have to attend parties to be picked out. We draw one mascot per game but, in some circumstances we end up with more than one for instance 3 brothers were picked out at the recent party to do 3 separate games, they are now all going to do the same game thus freeing up 2 games for other members.

The reason we only choose 1 per game is we'd like that child to feel special, it's their day. If we had 11 mascots then we wouldn't be able to take them all around the dressing room, take them to see the ref, have a little tour behind the scenes and have a photo taken with their favourite player.

    Any questions, just yell!!

  5. Thanks Jacko!

It was a good night and all the kids had a great time, I had lots of 'thank yous' on the way out. It was a shame Paul Dickov couldn't make it at the last minute but I think the kids are more bothered about the players being there. There was lots of photos and stuff being signed, the food went down very well and the game was well received.

Thanks everyone who attended and bought raffle tickets etc as we managed to donate £75 to the playershare scheme :-)

If your child was drawn out as a mascot for the rest of the season I will be in touch closer to the game to make arrangements.

    Once again, thanks to everyone

  6. For your information, these are the players we have requested for Monday night, along with the management team.

    Kieran Lee

    Dale Stephens

    Paul Black

    Ryan Brooke

    Josh Ollerenshaw

If you would like to attend but cannot get to the club shop or Spindles to get your tickets, please PM me.

    Thanks

    Lisa

  7. No probs and thanks Lisa. I did ask the young girl serving in the club shop and she disappeared through a door, came back and said due to the game being called off the lady who has them is not coming in. So I left it as that and that I would try and get back to the club shop this week

However, as they are in the Spindells, then I will pop in tomorrow instead.

I've been in this morning and the tickets are there, it seems that the girl who was working on Saturday just mustn't have been told they were there!

So, they are def on sale in the club shop and at Spindles!

  8. Re the multiball thing the club can be fined for a number of reasons but I don't know the amount of the fine, I think it is down to the Football League and how they feel on the day!!

Clubs can be fined for having 2 or more balls on the pitch or for ball boys treating each team differently (so the speed that the ball is returned should be the same for each team). Also, a ball boy is not allowed to cross the white line onto the pitch so if another ball ends up on the pitch then a player or an official has to recover it and not a ball boy. The referee can withdraw the multiball system at any time during the match.

  9. Tried to get tickets today in the club shop but none on sale yet.

Any ideas when they will be or in the shop in the spindells please and how much to get in for an adult whose accompaning them?

    Many thanks in advance

hmmmmmmmm that's quite worrying as both the club shop and Spindells have had them for 2 weeks!!:ranting:

Sorry about that, I will call in first thing in the morning and find out what's going on.

The adult price is the non-members price so £7.50.

    Thanks

  10. This year our Christmas Party will be held on Monday 20th December 2010 at North Chadderton Bowling Club. It will start at 7pm and finish at 9pm.

There will be plenty of time for you to talk to the players, ask questions, play games and have a go at the raffle. We will also be picking out the mascots for the second half of the season.

Places are available to book now, through the club shops at Boundary Park or in The Spindles. The price is £6 for Boundary Blues and Chaddy’s Gang members and £7.50 for non-members. The ticket price includes food and each child will receive a goody bag.

Any profit that is made from the christmas party will be donated to the Playershare scheme.

  11.

We will be taking a coach to Walsall on Saturday 4th December 2010. The coach will leave Boundary Park at 12 noon and the cost will be £15 for members

    and £23 for non-members.

The price includes travel to and from the game and your entry to the match. Walsall have a great community room that we can use before the game which includes a tuck shop and sometimes we get chance to play football before the match too!

This is a great price as matchday adminssions at Walsall are £14 for juniors and £20 for adults.

Bookings can only be made at The Latics shop at the ground, however, if you would like to go on the trip and cannot make it to BP to book your place, please PM me.

    Thank

    Lisa

  12. The discounted tickets and travel needs to be looked at. It is a good idea yes, but when i was member of BB, i think their was only two discounted ticket + travel throughout the season (Stockport and Hudders) with a maximum of 1 coach for it, including the parents on the coach with them. Think the club should look to expand how many discount ticket&travels their are and if enough demand put on more coaches for it.

We can only offer a coach to an away game where the other club participates in the ticket exchange system. The number of clubs doing this is getting less and less, I think for this season we have only been offered the following clubs

    Huddersfield

    Walsall

    Brighton

The previous 2 seasons we have run trips to Brighton and lost £300 as the coach didn't fill up, so we couldn't risk doing that again. We don't make money on the trips and last year we had to pay cancellation fees to the coach company for the Stockport game being cancelled twice, this alone cost us £250.

In previous seasons we have also been able to run trips to

    Bristol Rovers

    Tranmere

    Stockport

but these are no longer available to us.

Also, we are restricted to Saturday games only or local evening games, within 45 mins of Boundary Park.

  13. It should be said, £50 for a 16 year old or under to have a season ticket really is a terrific deal.

Are there going to be any half price ones on offer ahead of Christmas .... it would be a great pressie to torture the kids of Oldham with!

£50 is great and don't forget you also get chance to be a mascot, discounted tickets and travel for some away games, 2 parties at discounted rates.................

I'm not sure about half price tickets, something to be looked into I think.
