  1. Hope Fondop is given a contract. Not sure about Green as he has had a lot of time out injured. Same with Gardner but he was one of the players putting effort in in last few games. Of those still on contract I cannot see Garner wanting to leave as at his age it is probable last season he will get anywhere. Would lke to see Norwood stay but he he will probably leave with other offers. Interesting article i paper today about Mulin at Wrexham who said Mellon had no time for him when at Tranmere. MM says he knows a what godd is
  2. What a shambles. How are Halifax going to have their pitch playable for Saturday as well as two more midweek games prior to final day of the season. If thay are unable to play at home this Saturday what happens their games? Point deduction surely with points given to their oppononets. Additionally if we are going to play them on the Thursday Halifax need a plan B well in advance so all the ucertaintity is at least dealt with. Puts us at a disadvantage too as we may play only two days prior to final game which has an early kick off
  3. Halifax at home postponed today. They will be having a build of games in the run in
  4. Hopefully the illness in the squad has now gone, as it may allow a better team selection. Lundstram had a very good game against Chesterfield and it would be good to see him play against his former team. Dallas has improved, offering more than in in his first few games. Perhaps a Norwood/Dallas pairing up front. A must win game so we can keep in touch in the run in.
  5. It is a very poor return from our defenders indeed. Peter Clarke was always at the end of corners and scored quite a few. In earlier years players like Richard Jobson always added to the goal tally.
  6. That was such a poor game and a poor performance from our team overall What pissed me off most was the complete lack of urgency especially going into last 15 minutes. Long delays taking throw ins and kick outs etc. Even near the end when it was almost a penalty for them and we were given a free kick, Hudson just stood there instead of going to get the ball which was behind the end line. Very disappointing and hard to see where we can get enough points now to scrape into 7th
  7. Winning five out of seven is a big ask considering our recent form. It is going to be a nail biting end of season with every game being so important. If we play like we did against Chesterfield for the rest of the season then we should be well in the mix. But can we? Hopefully yes.
  8. That was a great team performance on Saturday. When team was announced I felt Dallas and Norwood up front was not the right selection. But I was glad to be proved wrong. The way we kept the ball on the floor more with a good passing made a huge difference to the dominance we showed for most of the game and feel we could have nicked the 3 points. Lundstram was a different player on Saturday and had a really good game. Hopefully we can play like this for the rest of the season. It is going to be a very tight finish for the last few play-off of places. Every match is now a huge test for us. Lets hope Chesterfield beat Halifax on Wednesday night. Regarding the Norwood debate I certainly hope he stays with the club for next season. If we play more of the style of football we played on Saturday he should be netting a few more goals in the coming games. Yes he is an unusual character but he is always looking for the ball and gets frustrated when he is in a position to receive the ball but it is not played to him. He is also good in the air and seems to be able to predict where the ball will end up even when it is hoofed up the field. In my view he is a class player who we need to keep.
  9. Yeah MM's pre-match is not very inspiring sadly. Hopefully the team picked for tomorrow will go all out to win and show some pride in playing for Oldham which is not what we have seen a lot of recently. If we had a better return on home games we would be a lot more secure in the play off positions. Unfortunately that is not the case.
  10. Regarding Big Dog's selection I cannot see what Dallas has to offer and would not have him in the starting line up. I think Fondop would be a better foil to play alongside either Norwood or Gardner to start. Fondop and Gardner formed a good partnership while Norwood was not available.
  11. not been able to attend games recently due to sudden illness and still quite week. Missed the last 2 home games and could see the floodlights from the corridor of Oldham Royal Hospital!! If I am not strong enough to go to the Chesterfield game at least I can now watch it on National League stream
  12. Good to see promoting positive thoughts!! I cannot see what Dallas has offered in any game where he has come on as a sub.
  13. What a difference tonight. Initially it looked to be set up to be a real defensive team but played some flowing football. Good first half with 11 v 11. Second half also good with a bit of nerves at the end. Overall a good team performance Do this please on Saturday
  14. Not going to be an easy one tonight. Eastleigh have won their last two games, including a 2-0 win over Bromley. Just watched the highlights of that and McCallum is a handful and leading score in the NL.
  15. Certainly not for sacking as many have said here. But the football style is terrible as highlighted yesterday. Teams like Kidderminster can pass the ball effectively in their build up play and we are totally incapable of that. Being gritty is not the answer and the hoofball and head tennis must somehow be changed. Interesting yesterday that just before they scored their second I could see we were preparing a substitution. Lundstram was going to be taken off on the fourth official's board but then it was changed to Hammond after they scored. Dallas offered nothing and Fondop would have been more of a threat if he had been kept on the pitch. Yes, he was on a yellow but MM should have bitten the bullet and kept him on.
