I hope the new hotel that was given planning permission last night isn't a fly in the ointment. It is providing the very same facilities that are cited as presently being lacking in the borough and thus was positive reason for approving the Latics Hotel

I see the council have asked for at least a couple of sweeteners (maybe more I've only quickly scanned through the pdfs) ie

Latics to build changing facilities on Clayton playing fields to compensate for the loss of Little Wembley and the sports-hall to the hotel. Alternative replacement sports facilities will be provided by the council elsewhere, artificial pitches but no sports-hall.

Also they want £645K from Latics to pay for extensions to local primary schools to accommodate the kids that will be living in the new houses/flats.

Looks like TTA gave agreed to these not unreasonable requests.

Now we just have the possibility of roosting bats to worry about, well them and quite a few other things.

It will happen though

But is it big enough? There is no mention in the plans of making any provision for increasing the capacity in the future. Although I do remember reading in the programme at the time that the RRE stand was being planned that it would be built strong enough to allow another tier to be added if necessary in the future. Maybe they could do the same with the new S stand (present main stand)

The poll is almost even at the moment.

Another reason that I'm against them was highlighted by 26black, I just don't like to feel that I'm being manipulated into singing the company song, even if iys OAAFC Ltd.

It feels too much like the organised fun in Japan or Korea.

And maybe it's because I was around in the free thinking 60s and 70s and hate conforming.

Not that I like the idea of a goal song but...if we have to have one then the WOOHOO bit of this song whatever it is would be v good.

I can't recall them running out to Mouldy Old Dough either. I don't think anything in particular was played to run out to back in the 70s, they just came on to whatever happened to be playing at the time.

Didn't hear the 1st few mins of the LW commentary but someome in the chatroom during the game wrote that one of the commentators said Pogs's op was not 100% succesful and he will never be fully fit.

No wonder he was down, how can he keep goal week in week out if he is worryied about landing on his knee and doing more damage.

If this is true hie career is over!
