    telephone 0161 234 1983/4

If you phone them up ask if they have a copy of Thursday night 15 March 1990 as we beat

Villa the previous night Wednesday the 14 march

  3. Never been to a big game at BP then ?

There are not many games I have been to that I can remember their being 25000+ at BP

Manure 1974-75 , Bolton a couple of times , WBA , Citeh .................anyone else ?

I was at the game when we played Liverpool in the cup, i think the attendance was

42,000. The only seating areas were in the main stand upper as it still is & a small stand on the Broadway

side which was about a quarter of the length of the just dropped stand this being situated centrally about

    the present main stand.

I was in the Chaddy end that day & terracing in those days had to have steel barriers set in concrete to try to

stop fans from crushing themselves, but there were that many in the Chaddy that day quite a few of the barriers

collapsed leaving a number of casualties being crushed.

  4. When for Christs sake will the assessing referee come out & state that the referee

    had totally lost the plot.

In a game of very little physical presence until the Hereford player goes into a

    minute of madness.

He booked Hazle for a tackle where he ( in my opinion) clearly got contact on

the ball before colliding into the Hereford player.

He overruled his linesman who was stood no more than two yards away who had flagged

for an Oldham throw in, when he himself was quite a distance from the action.

He gave Latics the benefit of the dought for the 'push on hughsy' for the disputable penalty

but missed two( again my opinion) stone walled penalty decisions later

by the way he's not the worst we've seen this season.

  5. Reading the ongoing thread speculating on Chris Taylors value it occured to me that, should we reach The Championship, he could well go on to be a one club player.

Got me thinking....which one club players have we had? Probably loads if you go back long enough....I cant think of any though! Ian Wood? Did 'The Dodger' play in the City first team? Lets not include players who retired young or dropped out of the game.....Chris Hall for example!

  8. O no mate our stewards are happy go lucky scousers who will no doubt let you all in for a fiver like they did a couple of seasons ago.

Hypercrits the lot of them but they have never been accused of being rough handed anyway worst stewards in this divison were Forest so I guess they had to be replaced with some one.

As for your travelling masses you can come sit in the kop am sure it will make for an interesting day out for all involved ;)

Sorry mate but you've got one real bar steward in your ranks.

two years ago as a steward was trying to eject a latics fan for standing up after cheering a goal

this particular steward ran up the steps & threw a punch & connected at the fan.

The steward in question was also at last years game but I think he has been taken away from the

    'coal face' so to speak.

  9. On the subject of stewards, wtf was that all about on Match Of The Day last night

showing Mike Ashley sitting among the Newcastle fans drinking a full pint of beer.

If that was any ordinary fan they would have been arrested & fined.

'THE MANS A CLOWN.' I also think the steward that allowed it to happen should also

be looking for new employment now.

    Opinions ?

  10. Oh I forgot - Smalley was a powerhouse, pace, control, won everything in the air. His goal was a quality finish!

Went last night Smalleys goal was  quality as you say, but the build up was superb3-4 one touch balls then ( get in my son )But one thing he's got to get sorted  his his attitude , last  night the ref. blew up for an incident , he started walking away the ref. blew his whistle again to speak to him but he completely ignored it & carried on walking away eventually he turned back to the ref. who indicated come back to me , which reluctlently he did but at a really slow pace, he wasn't booked last night luckily but the next one might not be so lenient (don't give them that option)

    ps (my opinion)
