When was the last time we played Bradford Park Avenue ? Also what memories of Morton do you have ? Did you also travel to St Mirren ?

We last played Bradford Park Avenue in 1969/1970 season, the same season Bradford P. A. finished

bottom of division 4 & applied for re-election but didn't get enough votes, they haven't. been in the

league since.

The thing I remember most about Morton was as I was about to go thro' the turnstyles this little jock

said something like 'gi us a peg' or something similar & a guy behind explained that if you could pick

him up & carry him thro' the turnstyles he could get in free ( one way of getting them young )

also having been reminded not included the great day out at Wemberly ( had some brill days out

watching Latics ) but that's up there with best.

Only just seen this post, if you are still having problems PM me with a little more detail eg, at what point is the boot failing etc. I will be more than happy to give you some advice on how to solve the problem.

but thanks for taking the time in response to said problem.

At home I've got wireless network connection (Netgear) for my computer

which my laptop has no problem in gaining access to.

I've been working away recently & been able to access the internet on my

laptop thro' the internet provider setup at the digs I have been staying at.

Two weeks ago he changed his internet provider, now whenever I try to

switch on the computer whilst at the digs the laptop will not load windows

any solutions greatly received.

anyone from the 'black n white' days care to explain how the score board thing (ie letters on a score board!) works???

 

have seen pictures of score boards with the alphabet on but not exactly sure how it works!! (page 1 of the programme!)

I'm showing my age here, the scoreboard when you arrived at the match had letters of the alphabet showing,

then in the program you had a list of matches for that day with a letter of the alphabet against it , at half time

as the scores were received by the scoreboard operator he removed the letter & replaced it with the half time

score

I think the treatment he got was unfair given he did something that 100% of people would do by getting the best deal for himself, people higher than him in the club should have shouldered more of the blame.

Remember that Bashforth acted before the elections. I had contact with another Councillor before the elections on this and other matters and he was very upfront and forthcoming. Then the elections.....then all quiet. Once elected they revert to their true colours.

And there is another matter that I cannot print here where he has done "something" else. The club are aware. Lets hope that the decsion to redevelop is given otherwise it may get very dirty.

It will be very interesting to know which way Councillor Bashworth conducts himself

on this issue but on the occations I have been in discussions with him about the

Boundary Park redevelopments he has implied negativity on a minority of issues,

ie predominatly highway related topics & as such I think if your innuendoes are

substantial then i think you should publish them or I think you should retract them

with an appology.

My favourite Latics defeat was in 1975 away to Aston Villa when we lost 5-0.

Villa had in their ranks that day a young Brian Little,he finished up scoring a

hat trick that day but every time he touched the ball he was awesome, it is

without dought the finest individual performance I have personally witnessed

live.We were absolutely leathered that day but the memory will last forever.
