  1. The MSU is the most "popular" (and I'm using that term very loosely indeed) part of the ground. It's always first to sell out. Therefore, because the club HAS to be run as a business, the seats in there are at a premium. Just like any other business.

You can get your kids in the Chaddy or RRE for £10 a season.

I think given our resources, that's a pretty decent do.

  2. I know my eyes are not good but if there were 4/500 Latics fans in the RRE then they are a lot worse that I thought they were.

There were about 150 left in the RRE. And I would rather see the home fans in there exclusively. I'm not often wrong, but today I was. I thought that we would see very little movement in fans, but the Chaddy was much fuller than normal. Great to see.

And Jesus Christ, how much did John Greg not want to be interviewed?? What a miserable bastard!!

  3. We had bodies in the box. A refreshing change.

Very pleased, we seriously needed it

Correct. The goal came from a rare moment of Smith getting forward. We had bodies in the box. Until Dayton came on, I can't remember anyone actually putting in a cross!

We so need to drive forward when we get the ball on the half way line. You run at League one players and most of them :censored: themselves....

  4. Massive result that.

We didn't half make bloody hard work of it though. Sat too deep, gave them too much room. We looked like the away side at times

JCH and Charlie Mac need shooting lessons.

Should have won by two or three.

Ref was a weapons grade bell end that gave us :censored: all until about 70 mins.

Worked hard for those points, although I would have liked to have seen us work harder off the ball and press more.

That Gadaffi lad is the size of your average family saloon. What a unit!!

The Chaddy was superb today. Looked like quite a few made the switch from the RRE and the lads sang their hearts out.

    Well done everyone.x

  5. In terms of simply improving the atmosphere, combining two stands worth of fans into one will always see improvements. However a lot of fans would like to see this one stand be the RRE. I think it's worth another trial.

As an old sales manager of mine often said, "if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what always got". To be fair, he was a complete :censored: generally, but I'll give him this one thing...

  6. Don't worry Dan.

According to one empty head on the way out, who was saying the fans who booed at the end are disgusting and "should f*ck off and watch Utd or City if they don't like it" , Gary Harkins is "f*cking :censored:, and he hates him" (all of this in front of my 9 and 5 y.o. kids).

Was it that arsehole that I was "exchanging views" with at the end??

  7. You're right, you are guessing if you haven't been.

I have - saw Aberdeen vs Rangers a couple of seasons ago.

Sat in the home end, the abuse they gave their own players was unbelievable. Darren Mackie; Chris McGuire and Andrew Constadine in particular that game came in for the sort of abuse i've never heard before or since.

So - in terms of Rooney going to club where the fans are always supportive and dont bitch & moan, you're very wrong in your assumption...

It makes me chuckle that some on here actually believe Oldham fans are in some way intrinsically different to any any other fans in terms of giving their own players abuse. We're the same as those up and down the country. No different at all.

  8. I only really boo them off at home shrewsbury/colchester/peterborough 1st half, when I go away normally happy with a point in this division and we did a job on crewe the same as some teams have done on us at home in recent weeks we just couldnt hold out, think whats frustrating a lot of fans is the brand of football defensive midfielders, narrow formations, hoofball football up to charlie the target man, a keeper who struggles to catch we could go on and on the reality is in previous years we have managed to do enough to stay up but this group under this management set up dont look like they have it in them.

Let's just hope Harkins doesn't get injured....

  9. It was vile. Boos ringing out, fans arguing amongst one another. I left swiftly yesterday as I wanted to get the early train back but I didn't think the atmosphere was negative. It's a footballers job to take the bad with the good, they can't expect a positive response after a performance like that.

The only thing that was vile yesterday was conceding yet ANOTHER injury time equaliser/ winner. Against a terrible team who had a mere five minutes earlier mustered about their only shot on target the whole game. We were marginally the better of two very poor sides in a six-pointer. And we conceded direct form a corner AGAIN. In injury time AGAIN.

That was the only "vile' aspect of the game.

Yet some were still happy to clap the team off. Baffling...

  10. The BBC web site has a Richard Branson article on it. It included these words:

    Richard's done ok.

He also says "I know I'm a good entrepreneur, but I'm not sure that I'd be a very good manager and there is a difference"

    and

"I just think once I've set something up, it's better if someone else runs it. I can dive in and out and be a pain occasionally, but the day-to-day business is better for somebody else to do"....

  11. One thing's for sure, we're in a fight. We aren't down and it's not the time to act as if we are. We aren't going to get a new manager or probably new players in, so we should back the ones we have. One late rally for an equaliser might make the difference, the closed season is long enough for criticism. Until then lets give every game a :censored:ing good go no matter what.

If only the team were to do that too....
