Looks like our win got the manager the sack!!!.

We are good at doing that, from memory, the most high profile manager to be booted after we stuffed them was Kevin Keegan (CIteh) Megson (Forest)…👍

I knew your Dad quite well. He was my headteacher at St Martins, I also knew him to speak to at Bardsley church. His love of TT, cricket and football was well known. Another decent local TT player was Karen Richardson now Hill my mates wife. Ps your Dad was the deciding moment on me going on the pitch when we won the league. I was being good and staying off and then saw your Dad and thought if my old headteacher was on I'm having it too. 🤣👍fyi my name is Elliot Pearson. 👍

Thanks for the post Elliot brings back great memories of happier times. Pete

I seem to recall he had Tranmere playing some bright, attacking football in his first spell. Second time around he was hamstrung by the owner being a bit of a pillock.

His overall record suggests he knows how to win. 45 per cent career win rate is pretty damn good.

Let's hope he can quickly sort out our team of mard arses.

Coincidentally had a meeting with that owner this morning but thought better stay of the subject of our managerial appointment!

I did my O Level in 78 so a couple pf years up to then.  There were tow female teachers in my time - The aforementioned Miss Nicholson and an English teacher, Miss Rigby, who even 14 year old boys wouldn't have found appealing although Eddie Convery, another English teacher certainly did

    6th form 1979 - 1981
