Replacement bus is only between Liverpool and Birkenhead should only add about 20 minutes on a Saturday, train ok from there on to ChesterTa.
Replacement bus service to Chester from Liverpool at the moment though. Crewe might be better.

First time back at BP for over 3 years, was really looking forward to it - what a let down. Won't be back again in a hurry

Forecast to stay above freezing overnight, I'm planning on coming up, will it be on?
Hoping to get to my first home game this season so it better had be!
-
Currently on the Wirral
I'm on the Wirral as well - thought I would be the only one (am in Heswall)
-
Couldn't have gone better, Chesterfield and Colchester losing, Shrewsbury and Fleetwood drawing with each other, Doncaster playing.
-
Worst time was November 1980 when Simon Stainrod sold to QPR
-
If only we could have positive games like this again;
Thanks to
Keith Gledhill @kgquantum 24h
Who remembers this match at BP? The late, great Bobby Moore scoring a classic OG with a diving header at Chaddy End!!
Yes I was in Chaddy that day, still can remember it

He will be Prince of Wales before he is King - of the United Kingdom, you idiot. Not been a King of just England since 13th century !

Redfearn with Dunn as assistant will do for me
Good call,for me too
-
Redfearn please

Happydays 2 ex Oldham players send tranies down, made my season seeing them relegated
As a Latics fan living on Wirral made my season too ! Puts our own poor season into perspective, so let's stop all the moaning. Fair play to Ronnie Moore, how ironic his team sent them down
-
I was there,1979 I think it was. It was on his debut when he scored from an almost impossible angle no one else would have had the audacity to try. What made it better was it was at Ewood Park where we never won and probably haven't done since. In my 45 years of watching Latics this goal gets my vote every time!None of you saw
Stainrod at Blackburn then.
-
Definitely Stainrod v BlackburnSimon Stainrod v Blackburn,
Closely followed by Groves v Udders
David Shaw v Aldershot overhead kick.
-
Let's hope today is the day he finally signs and we can start thinking about the rest of the team and an important match on Saturday. To add my "two pennies worth" I originally was against Evans signing but have come round to accept it more now if it happens. This is not a sexist comment but merely an observation that my female family members and work colleagues whilst obviously not condoning any of his actions without exception believe he should have the right to ply his trade again and if that is at our club so be it. I have supported Latics for over 40 years and won't stop doing now, I hope to be around to continue to do so long after he has gone elsewhere !

I went to, did we sell out that game? I seem to remember us filling behind the goal and it being a good atmosphere!
I was at that game. We got battered, they couldn't get past Chris Day. Beckett had one chance and we won 1-0...
Remember for the power of Beckett's shot which nearly broke the net

Four teams play catch-up games this evening. Wondered what we think would represent good results.
Donnie v Barnsley. I suppose a flurry of red and yellow cards to reduce Rovers team for Saturday would be nice, but result wise? Not that fussed. A draw keeps the pair of them well off the Play-Offs, a win and one of them closes to within 5. Not that we should be worried about teams below us.
Blades v MK Dons. Arguably we might be more bothered about Sheffield Utd than MK Dons given their form and games in hand they could be above Bristol by the time all games are level. A win for the Dons and the top 4 start to pull away and the last 2 spots are then cut adrift a bit. Draw?

Draw for both is best, but if have to prefer winner - MK Dons and Barnsleyfor us to make the play-offs it's actually very simple now....all we have to do is match the results of the rest of the teams below us and beat Notts County at home, you could argue it doesn't matter a jot what happens to the teams above us....I'd take 6th

Still remember the 5-0 because was so different to our terrible record there before that.Think their manager was sacked straight after the match?

Funny looking back I've been watching Latics for over 40 years and 2 of the 3 best goals I've seen were scored by Simon Stainrod, his debut against Blackburn away (1979?)and home against Preston (the following year?) If only we had a player like him now crowds surely crowds would come back to BP.The other best goal was Adam Griffin's on Celebration Sunday
-
Some of these bring back great memories - one that hasn't been mentioned I don't think is Stainrods goal at Blackburn on his debut - beat the Blackburn defence on the by-line and then scored from an impossible angle. Marshalls goal v Notts County was probably the hardest shot I've ever seen live - seem to remember he said he hit it so hard cos he was angry - had we just conceded a late equliser ?[/quote
I suggested Stainrod's goal on his debut

That was very special. I nearly passed out with over excitement! On the fence going absolutley ape. Even my mother spotted my rather deep purple jacket on the telly. Pity for the thousands locked out. Barlow's nearly killed us on the trip home thanks to a blow-out. Got back early morning, but nobody cared.
I can't argue with any of the choices on here. But i still have two other special moments. The first was when Roger broke the goals record at Brimingham. The other goes back to the 1970s. Simon Stainrod against Preston. Great run from the halway line. It was disallowed, so he did it again! Happy days.[/quote
My favourite too was Stainrod's against Preston, forgot about the one disallowed as well, the sheer arrogance was brilliant, his goal on debut away at Blackburn was special as well.Adam Griffin's goal against Grimsby was so good because it was so unexpected
Www

Some side that. Remember it better than the Gillingham game last week! Whittle and Groves would take some beating as a left side combo despite our strength there over the years (Ryan / Atkinson and Barlow / Holden for example)
Pretty much spot on ! Nov 14 th 1970, Latics 4 Lincoln 2
Dowd
Wood
Whittle
McNeil
Cranston
Bowie
Bebbington
Shaw
Fryatt
Hartle
Bryceland
Fryatt 3, Bryceland the scorers
9688 crowd
Mine was 1970 too at home to Chesterfield who won the league.Think we won 1-0 with Jim Fryatt the scorer ?
-
More importantly how is it pronounced? Bove as in Love, Bove as in Cove or Bov-ay?
All our new forwards sound good with "continental" pronunciations : Bo-vay, For-tay, Po-lay-on
-
And we thought we had issues?
MK Scum 3 - 0 United.
Anyway, in which order do we all "hate" or "dislike" these teams:
Manchester United
Leeds United
MK Dons
I really struggle, but I think Leeds edge the top of my list from Manure...
It has to be Manure first, second and third disliked. This morning is the first time in a long time I don't mind my brother being an MK season ticket holder !
If you had to a pick a Ulitmate Oldham Athletic 6 a side team

This would be exactly my team as well I think
