  1. NO WAY was it a pen in my eyes - the guy for mk dons flicke it up right in front of gregan and as is the natural instinct gregan raised his arms to protect himself, there was a pause of about 5 secs after it when the ref wasnt going to give it but then the lino flagged! Harsh harsh pen, justice was done with the save anyway!!
  2. its way too late for them to rearrange now, police need notifying in advance and the league as well. Both clubs know moving it would cut the crowd by at least half. SATURDAY IT WILL BE - IM SURE SALE CAN MOVE TO SUNDAY!
  3. She wants another baby But when shes shagging Beckham She thinks of Chris O'Grady
  4. yes i agree it is a bit boring now, but its always good to ram that arrogant attitude down his throat with a win against them and his pre match tripe to wind us up always gets me going in giving him abuse. The sad thing his he just doesn't have a clue why we and mostly all tranny fans hate him, he thinks 'old methods worked once, they're bound to work again somewhere else' i.e HOOF - NO they wont ron!
  5. 'we finished 10th their best finish in the previous 8 years' Now im sure we were in 6th in 02/03??!! seems moore has to bring up this lie every time we play them to try and justify himself as being good when he was actually :censored:e. god i hate that stubborn arrogant scouse
  6. im going with the rarely wrong on this one. If hughes had a serious injury i.e. a strain or tear we would have been told about it already i think. Chron says 'rated 50-50, given til last minute' Watch this space i say, maybe on the bench for if we are in desperate need and he can have 10mins if not fully fit.
  7. i think some were singing that not directed personally at o'gradys performance but that of the team which apart from 15mins in second half was pretty poor.
  8. why the hell should it have been moved??! It will only be moved if the match kicked off at 5pm or 3pm, kick off for england is 7pm, therefore all fans attending the game will get back home in good time by 7pm, so no need to change it. It is only an issue if you want time in pubs before the england game, meaning you couldnt attend tranmere. England are crap anyway, croatia will thrash us and andorra will get a draw.
  9. it would be ok if eardley played consistently decent and then had the odd crap game no one would have a go, but the ones who are including myself, have/are doing so because he has been consistently poor in the basic aspects of his game which are needed when defending ie positioning/distribution and having a general arrogant body language all the time. next game at home/away whenever you may next go, just take a few moments to watch eardley without any premediatated opinions and just watch what he does. As ive said im not out to have a go at any players especially younger ones in the team but my rant over eardley is having watched him over a long period of time and observing that he just doesn't do what a defender, indeed a supposed international player, should do and this always inhibits the team play. Watch him and try telling me that he does, to a decent standard, show the attributes of a decent fullback - i know when lomax has been there he definately has. Try Lomax in his proper position of RB (you notice that when having to defend lomax has to turn his back in order to face the man with his favoured foot) and get a LB in or ffs play Paul Black (he is a LB Shez if you didnt know) and im sure you will see a marked improvement in the defending over on that right side. Anyway these are my opinions and you can of course agree or disgree, thats my say on eardley done for the next month!
  10. i'm sorry but eardley is a liability. I always look to encourage the players/find positives but i really cant with eardley. The only thing i can say is that when hes tight to a player he can tackle and use his pace well going forward, that is it! Distribution - PATHETIC! - He receives the ball with no men around him, has a good 30 secs or so to assess his options, what does he do? - lump it upfield and loses possession so easily it is just inexcusable to do so. Positioning - PATHETIC - not just him i may add, all the players do it - but he is by far the worst culprit; he seems to give the winger in any team a good 10 yards of space with which to control, assess and pick out a cross/pass before he even begins to close them down. The whole team gives players so much room and time to control, turn and pass it is just mind boggling. When a fullback or central midfielder receives the ball in acres of space, how can any player stand there and watch a player advance towards our goal without any closing/challenge? Tonight was a prime example, their centre half was given freedom to jog to the halfway line before one of our players even moved towards him never mind tackle. First rule of defence as a fullback/winger - DONT LET THE CROSS COME IN - we let every opposition winger/fullback have the ball in space with time and say 'Come on cross it/pick a pass' There is no urgency in our defending whatsoever. On saturday, Hughes proved that closing down the fullback/defender and hassling them will cause problems and win the ball for the team. In the second half tonght when hughes/alessandra/lee came on and we went to 442 and had some movement and running about us and closed them down, they began to panic and we created 2 good chances from just simple effort in running at players and players anticipating their marker getting the ball and closing them before they receive it! Burnely weren't great at all tonight - they got their goals through our own lack of sheer effort in closing down and defending and standing there and watching players come at us. Our not staying with runners/closing down allowed them time to easily pick us offf without breaking sweat. This is a common occurance in all our games though, not just tonight. If you close the space down and challenge players quickly they will not have time to turn and pass the ball, allowing us to win it back and attack - exactly what burnley did to us tonight, simple running! I know you cannot run around like that for 90 mins, i dont expect that, but effort and will to challenge and close down at a certain point when a opposing player receives/is about to receive the ball yes. When man utd defend, they allow the opposition a certain part of the pitch in which they can pass the ball in front of them, but when they reach so far i.e before they enter utd's half/just after the halfway line, utd players immediately run to their men, hassle them, determined to win it back and then break with their quick wingers/attackers more often than not creating a chance and scoring. The formation tonight didnt help either, keep it 442 and change a few around but why 451? a successful team is one which is organised and everyone knows what theyre doing. 3 games into a season and in great form shez screws this up! hence our poor performance together with the lack of that mentioned above. Yes this is about eardley, but his consistenly ineffective displays of a so called 'international £3m rated footballer' on a regular basis higlights to me that he is the worst in terms of doing the basics and finding a man in space - NOT passing to a player tightly marked, therefore putting him under pressure and we lose it cheaply - as Shez says keep it simple and take care of the ball! When you think back to irwin or barlow, they werent brilliant player but they could defend properly, attack and pass/cross a ball. These are the basics needed by a fullback and im sorry but eardley is just shocking! He's been in the team since he was 17, he's 19/20 now and i see little if no improvement at all. If TTA's have been turning down 500k+ bids for him then they aren't as clever as i thought they were. Lomax at RB and A PROPER LEFT BACK PLEASE FOR GODS SAKE!! :@ Anyone who thinks eardley is currently anything other than a poor league 1 player is deluded in my opinion. RANT ANALYSIS OVER!
  11. The thing with hughes is just how football is now. If we go up, hes said it himself he would more than likely stay and try and establish us in the championship. If we dont, then although he hasnt said it himself, he probably would be likely to leave and go to a higher club barring a big wage offer from us. The 3 years out of the professional game will mean hes had less strain on his body than he would've had if he'd still played and despite him being 32 i think he's good enough for the championship for a good 3 years yet. If he leaves in the summer for free supposing we dont go up, then we say thanks for your efforts lee and good luck and we move on to other players. If we go up and he stays then great. oh and personally if we were to get a £2million offer from anyone i wouldn't sell, leave it till at least january and if we look like seriously going up we keep him and give it our best shot - if we were to sell for any price, yes we would make a nice profit but we'd never know what might have been if we let him go and were in with a great chance of going up.
  12. bloody heck man, just something i noticed when reading it! nothing against stu at all!
  13. on the dale preview on the OS it states we have an 18-man squad meaning only one will miss out as we can name 7 subs - i think you'll find 11 + 7 =18!
  14. dont agree with the 'having to wait for stoke' crap - when we were organising for him to come on trial with us there should automatically, out of common sense, have been discussions with regards to his wage and what deal could be done, then we could have worked out within 1/2 weeks if we could afford him or not, thereby being able to send him back, not getting fans hopes up over nothing and then giving our own players a chance or get someone else in. cant believe we've dithered for 4 weeks. im also sure that there are other people at the club other than the stoke CE who could have dealt with the situation as well if he was busy. its like test driving a car for 4 weeks and then asking what the price is - you ask for the price first before you even take the car out of the car park so you know what your having to pay/lettin yourself in for.
