Have to say, it was great to have a larger away following in the ground yesterday and some real atmosphere (until the game, and both teams’ seasons, petered out). It felt like a Football League game in the run-up to kick-off.
Not heard of any bother too which is good, the scoreline may have helped with that. There was a small pro-Palestinian/boycott Isreal demonstration outside the old club shop and I overheard in the ground that they were given some shit before the game. I’d be surprised if they had been given permission from the club to set-up there.

I can only assume you were making a cup of tea or something, but I can assure you he was.
.. and to be honest if he and 90% of this squad left tomorrow I wouldn’t lose any sleep, but at least he appears to give a shit, unlike a good few others.

Yet he too has been awful… he’s a coward when we are out of possession. Never seen him tackle… ever. Overrated. You’re very quick to dig him out whenever he plays, but he’s the only one who was bothered to try and close-down the opposition and show the slightest bit of quality on the ball.

Gardner screaming at the team to “get the fuck up the pitch” just before the HT whistle. He looks like one of the few that give a shit at this stage.

We started Norwood and Garner yesterday. Garner spent the entire first half either trying to win high balls against a centre half who had half a foot on him, or fucking about on the floor desperately trying to win free-kicks, (again). When the half time whistle went he was rolling around with an opposition player who he then tried kicking off with. It’s embarrassing and I’m sick of watching him.
When Fondop replaced him, the long balls started to stick more, and the tactics briefly looked more effective. However Norwood had been pushed out on the right where he’s less effective, gets pelters from the crowd and spends more time arguing with the linesman.
Fondop then gets his red and it’s effectively game over.

During the 90 minutes yesterday we fielded 4 centre backs, 4 central midfielders and 3 centre forwards.
We were unlucky to lose Green, but my word, we’re all spine and no limbs. The footballing equivalent of The Holy Grail’s Black Knight.

Merry Christmas to all Latics fans.
Good to see Mellon has had the players in today training. Although Alex Reid’s (now deleted) Instagram story showed himself and a few others weren't too happy about it. Good job they aren’t the ones rowing across the Atlantic away from their families!

Some are having a nightmare out there (and some far worse performances than Shelton’s) and we should be 4 down.
Wouldn't mind seeing the sending off again. The Fylde player definitely had Hogan’s arm locked-up by the end of the move.
Regardless, fuck me, we are so shit in possession. Appalling.

Why isn’t this available on National league TV?
It is. Go to page 2 on the listings. -
Guessing they’re using a cup tie to get some football under McGahey’s belt after a long (a year plus?) period out injured.
Gives the new gaffer a chance to look at us with 5/3 at the back.

Very pleased with this appointment. Ticks all the right boxes for me, plus a few Tranmere fans have mentioned “blowing teams away”, so I’m not worried about the style of play.
On relegation from League 2 I’d have guessed 99% of the fanbase would have taken a manager with MM’s CV and a good crack of promotion regardless of style.

How much do we sell away tickets for? £24 for 5th tier football is a bit steep.

The way Green made space for his goal by blasting the ball into the opponent’s face. Mwah!

On occasions at 2-0 up our players would take the safer option, passing it back to the defence, and keep possession, rather than risking a trickier ball and allowing them to mount another attack. Game management innit.

Needs to be a Mike Bassett “4-4-fucking-2” for me.

2-0 Latics. Nuttall and Norwood. 7100 through the door.

Win that and you will be able to hear me at midnight.

Broncos vs NZ Warriors at Suncorp in the NRL Finals. Burnley’s Herbie Farnworth playing for the home side, and Englishmen in both coaching set-ups. -
Hasselbaink. One promotion as manager, taking Burton to League 1. Left them to go to QPR with Burton top of L1 in December. Current an assistant with England.
-
Nuttall and Norwood up front, Willoughby on the bench (although I think he played well on Tuesday and linked up nicely with Nuttall), Reid to come off the bench too.
Fondop reserved for FA Trophy/FA Cup qualifying round/possible loan move for games.

Let’s try and go the rest of the season without a boo-boy yeah?

Tried a few of the pies and they’ve all been poor, especially the steak. The best thing the kiosks currently do are the samosas.

Swear I seen have recent research which suggests that teams perform better when home fans are behind both ends. Probably the thinking behind it.
I’m sure I’ve heard Frank reference this recently.Well, they pretty much say as much in the article:
”We want to make the most of home advantage by giving the players the benefit of a backing from behind both goals, so we will be allowing supporters to return by initially opening the middle section of the stand.”

Their fixtures are all away from home during that period.
