  1. I don’t know why everyone is wetting themselves. We’ve signed a goalie whose team finished bottom of the league and a lad who could turn out to be the next Michael Clegg.

Out of interest - how can you call yourself a SUPPORTER of this club...???!!!! I've read thread's you've initiated before and I'm not sure whether you're just in it for the attention or if you actually think your points have merit.

  2. What worries me is that I bet he isnt aware of the sell on clause that we have on Richards, and if he goes elsewhere, I think he will try his upmost to get out of paying us our share and we will have to fight tooth and nail to get it.

There's no way that he can get out of paying us the percentage though is there?!? Understand what you're saying, but surely there's no provision for something like that - he wouldn't be able to justify it, even if he tried...

  3. What on earth is he playing at!

"It also underlines the belief of many City insiders that Shinawatra does not understand football."

    Get out of town!!!

It's obviously good news for us, cause I would say it's a certainty Richards will move now, the question is; will we get the best price, or will Shinawatra just sell for anything?!? Not sure anyone can work out what is next move will be... Feel pretty sorry for all the players actually.

  4. However this brings us to one of me and my mates favourite latics discussion points. Oppo managers who have been given the sack immediately after they have suffered the ignominy of losing to the little latics. There is quite a list.

McEwen at Sheffield Utd after we had thumped them 5-1 about 1987

Lawrie MCMnemy at Sunderland after we had beaten then 2-0 at their place, shortly after the above I think

Alan Buckley at Grimsby after the 6-0 drubbing on celebration sunday.

Gary Megson 2 seasons back after we beat Forest 3-0

There are lots more, at least one last year i think.

Maybe we can add another to the list tomorrow:

    BBC

Although as others have pointed out, we do seem to help teams end there bad form..! I'm confident though, even with the lack of players we have!

  5. It's the same with the whole world! Sold their souls to Bill Gates.

    :cardinal:

Snap! They'll all pay the price in eternity....mmmwwahahahahaha!

There's usually something on youtube, but the only thing I can find is a load of Huddersfield fans rejoicing there consolation goal.

  6. To be fair, there probably were only two minutes of highlights from the game on Wednesday and that must have included showing the penalty three or four times over.

Haha, you're right there, the only England highlight they showed was the Rooney 'header'. If that was England's best effort then I'm glad I didn't endure anymore of the match!

  7. That stoke man is steve bould of arsenal fame WITH hair!!!

ah! That's why didn't recognise him - didn't think he ever had hair!

Actually I had to run back in to the office to type the forum message as the wireless hub isn't reaching to the living room at the mo, and therefore missed the name! (not a bad pre 5 a side warm up for this afternoon though!)

  8. Well I thought I would spread some much needed joy around this forum! My wife and I are coming to boundary park on Saturday to watch the mighty blues. Why the joy I hear many of you cry! Well I'll tell you - I haven't been to Boundary Park for a number of years due to living either on the Isle of Man or Glasgow. We are coming down this weekend as a birthday present for me and I am so excited! I appreciate for the regulars, the atmosphere, attendance and performance may not get you feeling this way, but so you know there will be 2 people in the ground who will be smiling, cheering and living every second of the match. I ask that we put aside the negativity on Saturday and remember why we support the Latics, and cheer 'em on, through thick and thin. That's what supporting Oldham is like and we all know it, otherwise what would be the point of 'Keeping the Faith'...

Anyway I also wanted to ask a couple of practical questions having not been to a football ground for a while - what is allowed in and what isn't - e.g. plastic bottles

In terms of seating, I think we'll head to the main stand as I'd like a good halfway line view of the game - but how much singing happens here, and are there season ticket holder seats that need to be kept free???

Sorry for the basic questions, but want to get it right!

Anyway, crap result last night, but here's to beating the Moore's on Saturday!

    Thanks

  9. I'm well chuffed with this signing the more I think about it - he captained Millwall in the FA Cup Final! That is pretty impressive! I know that doesn't make him a great player, but with this and winning promotion from league one and then the following season getting to the play offs, this guy has pedigree that we need. I really hope he settles in and can be instrumental in a our push up the table in the next couple of months...
