I sit on several boards of directors and like to think that when I have forthright views ,and the time to contribute voluntarily, that I do so. I would suggest that you could well be an asset to the Trust and its' positioning against the current regime running OAFC.I am not taking the piss we all need to pull together and use our skills against this clown running our club. We may all not agree at every point along the way,but there is no doubt we have a current focus on what needs to be done.

    Alright, Alan Sugar

I don't think that Maouche should be singled out as having a stinker. He was at fault for the second Swindon goal its true, but up to that point he was on a par with the rest of our ineffective forwards. Thereafter his head dropped and was rightly subbed.

Agree with your point that Baxter and Sylla made a huge difference. O'Grady simply failed to hold the ball up and that meant that the ball kept coming back at us.

It was a strange performance by the team, similar to the second half at Colchester. Having said that, we looked by far the better side for the last quarter and Lang could have won it for us.

Baxter and Sylla to start at Cheltenham.

I thought Maoche was having a torrid time, gave away a few needless fouls in the first half when caught in possession also, and thats when he actually got close to being in the game. Just so happened they finally capitalised on it 2nd half. COG, Branger and Nepo also had stinkers imo, just none of their mistakes or lack of playing led to goals. Was definitely not a game where we "defended from the front".

No real basis for this opinion but I cant see him starting Sylla, even though I agree with you that he should play. I think the only change may be Baxter for COG on Friday.

Just had the opinion of my Swindon Town mate, whose opinion I value (he's an ex semi-pro himself and football through and through).

Said we were poor for the first hour with the "spine" of our team looking weak. Said our central defence was slow and couldn't cope with speed/power. Despite us taking the lead, he thought it would be a comfortable 3 or 4 to one victory. Then said, we looked a changed team later in the game; much brighter and a game they should have won comfortably, they could quite easily have lost. Wondered why did we not look "up for it" for an hour?

So, he says the "first hour team" - poor lower table team; the "last half hour team" - play-offs for sure.

Sounds like a game of three thirds - and we were great for one of them!

P.S. also said glad they never signed COG (apparently he was a target) - thought he was a passenger and looked as though he should retire.

Agree pretty much with that assessment. Missilou the only one in the first hour even getting close to their players, and the forward line did nothing to help move us up the pitch and keep hold of it. Maoche had a stinker, and Nepo and Branger didnt help out like they have in the last week by playing inside the field. Bennett was a huge problem for them, enjoyed watching him the first hour. That said, Swindon hit the post and won a soft penalty and scored from a stupid Latics mistake, but otherwise didnt create masses of chances.

Baxter coming on with Sylla helped us dominate the middle of the park and look more lively, and Afolayans touch was fantastic (unlike COG) meaning we retained possession up the park.

Weird game really as the last 20 minutes really made me think we deserved the points, but overall I think we should be lucky for the 1 point. The first hour showed just how poor some of our players can be (they dont shine so impressively when they are good tbh), and a reason why they are at this level, very incosistent.

Happy with a point but we need to masively improve if we are to a) mount a final playoff push b) compete at all should we get there.

I have a season ticket and didn't go Saturday ( I could have done) and only decided to definitely go last night quite late in the day.

This is just silly. Completely ignores pay on day fans and basic facts.

My point being, that the majority of the 3000+ of the fans who have been going are ST holders (not sure on figures) so the drop wont be as drastic as people believe until next year. FWIW Harry, I reckon youre in a minority of ST holders who will just stop straight away. Pay on the dayers will still be there aswell, freebies/last minute call to watch some football etc. So the drop of 4-500 isnt that drastic as people believed the protest would be. Add to the fact the footies been largely shit and the season is dying out, there would be a decline regardless. Dont think AL is worrying that much just yet.

Strauss always played at the very, very top of his sport though so was usually winning.

We’re usually shit so I choose to get giddy as fuck at every occasional, fleeting opportunity.

Told all my work mates, who literally have no idea who Oldham are or where it is, that we beat Tranmere last night, cos it feels great to announce we won 2 on the bounce!

    Home fans in attendance.

    Paul Scholes four home games

    3800 - Yeovil Tuesday  4-1

    4800 - Crewe Saturday1-1

    3800 - Morecambe Tuesday 1-2

    3700 - Stevenage  Saturday 1-1

Pete Wild’s Two home game since

    3200 - Grimsby  Saturday 2-0

    2800 - Tranmere Tuesday 2-0

    Interesting patterns:

An increase of 1000 from the Yeovil to Crewe home games (The Scholes effect plus the previous good home victory)

A drop of 1000 between the Crewe and Morecambe home games (A draw in the previous home game plus the Tuesday effect)

A drop of 1100 between Crewe and Stevenage home games. (A draw and a defeat in the two prior home games)

A drop of 500 between the Stevenage and Grimsby home games (Boycott kicks in)

A drop of 400 between the Grimsby and Tranmere home games( Boycott and Tuesday night effect)

Next home game is Swindon. The return of Wellens. A response from Abdallah? We wait with baited breath...

FYI, I genuinely dont think the boycott will affect attendances this year. People who are planning a boycott are more the people who are refusing to buy next years season tickets. So they will still go with this seasons ticket until its done.

You can phrase stats all you like, at the end of the day they are just numbers.

Local residents moaning , and surprising but general hostility to the club from the council and people in the town, must be a universal theme  then, because you could have been describing the way things are for us too. The mural, as made up as we are with it, has already attracted some criticism from the moaners, as has the plan to put lamp standard banners in Prenton Road West on the approach to the ground, similar to how all the big clubs do.

My theory is that "supporters", mostly tele-clappers, of our respective more glamorous big city neighbours actually feel guilty about not supporting their local club, so wish it wasn't there to remind them of their disloyalty to their own town.

We, in the other hand, stick with our local clubs through thin and thin, and for all the heartache,  but  just occasionally, they will provide us with brief moments and experiences that they could never dream of experiencing, where you are momentarily transported to dreamland and feel an explosion of pride and joy that they will never know. Comfort yourselves with that when being patronised or belittled, as it it us, the small band of purists, who pay our dues, but when they come, the highs are all the more higher for that! That's what I keep telling myself anyway!

How dare you come onto this board and act civil. Disgusting.

I think it is a reasonable letter. My only concern would be that it is unclear what it is requesting to be provided to the Trust confidentially and what is being asked to be provided to then be shared with members/fans.

In particular, I think it may be unreasonable to ask what offer has been made for the ground. It is known that the Trust is connected to the FLG. It would be a strange decision of the owner to tell this group (as a rival bidder) what offer he has made. I would also be wary, if I was him, of disclosing next year’s budget if this was going to be shared widely. Knowing the size of the budget is something that could give competitive advantage to rival teams.

The Trust shouldn’t be scared of confirming that some answers will not be shared widely and we, as fans, should accept that we might have to take the Trust’s word on some things if they simply tell us that they have had an appropriate answer.

It is a great start though and if we got 11 answers back to those 13 questions I would be delighted.

    Over to you Abdallah.

Personal opinion is you will get one answer: "Do one".

I wouldnt be disclosing any of that private business information, and would be reluctant to any meeting set up by the Trust if I was the owner. If he agrees to any of this, he is basically opening himself up to allowing all financial matters to be scrutinised, assessed and determined by fans who have absolutely no idea how to run a business. Would you see United fans asking Glazers to show them an invoice for the electric bill? A waste of time in my opinion.

What are The Trust, or those whose questions they’ve passed on, hoping to achieve by proving he hasn’t paid Swans or gas bills?

Its all all a bit school teacherly. Is he going to

be made to sit on the naughty step if he can’t explain himself (which we know he won’t be able to)?

I just want stuff like that to stop going forward.

It smacks of people just wanting their pound of flesh via demanding info few, if any, businesses would/should provide.

What a wasted opportunity to make some clear, specific & reasonable demands of him.  Demands that would be to the benefit of all concerned

What have you spent the Fa Cup money on Abdallah. I demand you show me penny for penny the investment that was made with that cash.
