  1. Perhaps on your take of it Joe's appointment at the time might have been seen as an insult to previous managers we had. You read too much into my comment. Barry
  2. None of it. Ther Board listens to fans. Many say that they felt there should be more communication with the manager. Barry
  3. No fuss on this chaps. We work together on many matters and this will be one of them. Paul Dickov is keen to meet fans and we see it as a way forward to arrange some sort of informal gathering. A venue will be arranged and announced on the official site first. Nothing sinister in all this we just want to involve fans, something that has been requested more and more recently. Regards Barry
  4. I am delighted with the appointment. It was very clear from the outset that the new manager was very keen on fan issues and was very genuine in his beliefs. He is very keen and eager to do well. The last time a guy came through our doors so young and inexperienced and did'nt do such a bad job was Big Joe. Regards Barry
  5. Liam Sorry to hear about your troubles. Please e mail me at Bowen97758@aol.com and I will discuss issues that might help. Regards Barry Owen Trust Oldham Chairman Director on Club Board.
  6. I think it was Pete I met on the Island a few years ago. He used to work as a car salesman on Huddersfield Road. Anyway I know we have a few fans on the Island. I will be visiting between 14.6.2010 to 29.6.2010. Staying at Freshwater Bay. If anyone wants to meet up for a chat and a pint let me know. Venue can be arranged . Either Newport or Ryde as an idea. In the meantime hope you are all well. Barry Trust Oldham
  7. Mr Bates was strolling along Beech Street whilst I was delivering. Got a strange look from him but he always seems suspicious of anything when you see him. Passed me without comment but got some encouraging remarks from others in the area. Regards Barry
  8. Jolly Let me know which day you want to help and I will pick you up when I am doing my lot. PM me if you want a lift. Regards Barry PS It is good that you volunteer.
  9. I appreciate the moderators will jump on me for starting a new thread on this topic because I am aware that Rick Attwood has already put an appeal out. I just wanted to add that we are trying to save costs at the club and this in an area in which fans cans help us. I know some fans will not participate because they are strongly opposed to the move and I respect that. We need a large number of people to complete the job to lessen the load on those who have already been good enough to come forward. I am asking fans to come forward please to help with this task. Your efforts would be very much appreciated. Kind Regards Barry
  10. Hi Dave. Let me know when you are next at the club and we will meet up for a chat (and a gill). I'll bring Rick Atttwood along. Barry
  11. Thank Dave. I think your mail makes a lot of sense and I know from your SAFE days you will appreciate the frustration we feel at times. We carry on because we are fans and without patronising you I can believe that it was that reason that drove you on when you did so much work. I would like to meet you some time because I always consider your well constructed input. Perhaps telling it as it is may get backs up but I make no apology for that. You are right to mention the purpose of the Trust and in reality when clubs are in private ownership their effectiveness can be somewhat limited. Above all else I consider that we have always been there to help the club when we can. Too much reliance is put upon the owners and what they should do and what money they should be prepared to lose week after week. As we all know times are hard froe everyone and the burden needs to be shared if the football club is to thrive. That is the reality of the situation. When visiting the many clubs I have got to know well since my appointment, they are all of one view. Fans mainly rally around in a crisis as was seen when we went into adminstration. We need to help all the time if we can with some kind of contribution. Again it is the hardcore fans who always help and hopefully they will rally to the cause. We should not need a crisis to be prepared to help. Unfortunately the way football is going investment by fans beyond the season ticket may become a necessity at a lot of clubs in the near future, if indeed they want a degree of success. Kind Regards Barry
  12. The Trust is made up of some fantastic supporters who work very hard. In more recent times invitation have been made for fans to visit trust meeting for the first half hour to ask questions or air their views. A number of people have seized on that opportunity and the offer is still open. Please be assured that my first responsibility is to represent the interests of the fans within the Board Room. I do that. I have had an input into the season ticket prices released this afternoon and I hope you all think the offer is reasonable. Contrary to some peoples opinion, your voices are heard. I have no desire to be on any ego trip which has recently been suggested and first and foremost I am a fan. Sometimes I am in a catch twenty two position becuase due to confidentiallity I cannot always tell you all the things that are happening. I have not responded to get caught up in volatile arguments that have sometimes occurred merely because I answer people. Recently I have been thinking about a scheme that might pay the wages of one of the younger players at the club. Times are very difficult for everyone these days and at many clubs fans are having an input into such things. Recently Tranmere Trust released £10,000 to pay for a loanee into the club. How many people would be up for helping such a scheme. Say we pay for Tom Eaves next season. How many fans would be prepared to chip in. I will start by paying £10 per month. Oh and by the way I am not on any perks at the club and actually lose money over a season. Why, because I an a fan. my wife and other family members will consider the same. Regards Barry
  13. From you user name I presume you are from the Island. Visit twice a years for last 20 years. Will be down in June staying at Freshwater. Which part of the island do you live if you don't mind me asking. Regards Barry
  14. I take note of your threats prozac. I did not realise you had such a hold on club affairs. You are at liberty to PM me at anytime and you will not be ignored. Taking things personally. !!!!!!. I think the saying is meeting like with like. Anyway we are talking about football and we do have some things in common. A very strong interest and passion in our football club. Perhaps we can agree on that issue. I am also willing to meet you personally or arrange a telephone call and perhaps some of the mis-conceived issues can be ironed out. Regards Barry
  15. Garcon We are all mature people who are not afraid to express views. We don't always do it behind a keyboard. Nothing will need resolving tomorrow morning which might disappoint you. You mis-read the script. Barry
  16. Johnny If you were to ask Simon B he would always tell you they would never turn anyone away with cash. However that party would need to show that they have something to offer and it was in the best interests of the club. The owners have ridden some difficult times at the club and will not just let fans down. It is sad that people do not see the commitment they have. They are true fans and wholly committed. What successful business men would carry such loses if they had no interest in football and lets face it they are successful businessmen. The owners don't activiely seek anyone to sell the club too. In life anything is for sale if people offer enough money. Hope this helps Johnny. Hope you are keeping well. Barry
  17. Do not kid yourself that I attribute any of my comments to you prozac. I am also not accountable to you. When you talk about looking nearer to home you need to make sure your own decks are completely clear !!!!!!!!. Anyway I draw a line under ourt differences which will probably never be resolved given your negative input. Barry
  18. Dave The conflicting roles do not really cause any problems because the main aim at the end of the day is to work with the club. As you know from your own experience that is the best approach because confidence is gained in any organisation by having constuctive and meaningful relationships. If the Trust conducted itself as some people would like the club would merely find way of leaving me "out of the loop." and rightly so.We have gained some respect and confidence by our approach and we have to be careful like many Trusts around the country that we are not merely tolerated. I have made the point that these are my views as a Club Director because it is not fair to generalise that these would be the views of all my colleagues on the Trust because they may hold different personal views. I would also add that these are also my own views, if indeed I am allowed to have any. I have no conflict with my colleagues at either end and differences of opinion are thrashed our to a satisfactory conclusion. Regards Barry
  19. It is sad that many of you read into my mail the things that you want to believe. Everyone welcomes views and opinion and nobody is telling anybody to shut up. What I am say is to GET REAL and put your support into the club. I have also suggested that people expose their energies to positive efforts with the club and not cause undue rest and dis-satisfaction. I serve the fans interest more than you can believe Leeslover and many of you make general comments about my input without any foundation or evidence to the contrary. Perhaps you would like to come onboard to do some work and view for yourself. Barry
  20. I posted off my own bat. I don't need prompting but inserted the question about the owners because they have made that point to be previously. For those who wonder why I don't post regularly someone will remind people of the past history with personal abuse towards my family and myself. I can have a decent debate with anyone but not when abuse is an element. What I have said tonight needed saying and I stick by my words that people do need to get real. To those long standing latics fans, I hear what you are saying and do not purport to show any disrespect towards you. I merely ask that you continue with your support of the club. Barry
  21. Tried that Ricardo but I got hit over the head with the carrot. Just speaking the truth. Barry
  22. In retreat prozac. Someone posting ideas for you. Again your positivity shines through. Barry
  23. Garcon Read my mail. I post as a Director not as the Trust Chairman on this view. You miss the point. If they were not around there probably would not be any debate about Failsworth or Boundary Park. Neither might exist. Do you want a club !!!!!!!.
  24. Alec Bit naive really. Do you think they would need me to open doors for them. Barry
