Just now, Monty Burns said:
ignoring the fact Oldham is deprived as fuck and credit cards are not available to large swathes of the population, in this case three options is always better than two.
I acknowledged that in my post to be fair… and only trying to help.
If the club would have put something on that would have been credit based as well (with interest).
The Monzo option isn’t a credit card, just a current account perk.
Another option is to switch your existing current account (only takes 5 minutes) and get a £200 bonus for doing so. I’ve done this loads of times and must have made well over £1000 in total.

Shame the FCA/ club stuff could'nt be sorted out in time to offer finances/staggered payments
The think tank I volunteer with, did approach Oldham Credit Union to see if a partnership/arrange finances could be sorted somehow.
However, they never came back to us.
Shame as it would have meant re-investment back locally too, if it could have been done.
Or Even start thinking it now for next season, like a savings club
oh well
Appreciate less convenient than the club putting something on but there’s other options out there to help spread the cost:
Open a free Monzo bank account which allows to split over 3 months interest free.
Get an interest free credit card which allows to split over (up to) 2 years interest free.
The credit card option is more difficult due to credit ratings etc but worth doing an eligibility checker as the amount of credit required for an ST is relatively low in the grand scheme of things. Both these options are interest free, whereas I’d imagine anything through the club would have been with interest.

Thought #18 Trialist (Fage) looked decent
Keeper looked dodgy with crosses
Not impressed with either new striker first half
#15 Trialist had something about him but nowhere ready for first team yet
Overall we looked dodgy at back all game and better going forward in second half with Mouche, Nepo, Branger and Vera(!)

It wasn't just the product on the pitch that was depressing about yesterday, the whole place seemed soulless & unprofessional:
No Chaddy
No hot food
No programmes
No ad boards
No North Stand
Even the bloody team sheets were just typed on blank white paper - hoping it just felt so bad because we were getting played off the park by a non-league side in a friendly, but I fear not.
Took my 5 and 3 year-old lads and felt bad for them.

Definitely him.
Yeah, just seen it confirmed by that Darren guy from Trust.
Very odd!

Looks like him from photo I’ve seen on Twitter.
Anyway, if we were to find it was definitely him, then... WTF?!

Apparently on the pitch celebrating yesterday...
WTF?!

Baxter back in training on Monday according to Roy during yesterday’s iFollow commentary.
He also hinted there’ll be reinforcements arriving this week.

Serious injury in training I believe!
Yep, that’s what I’ve heard as well!

Clarke will be key for us this season.
He’s in unbelievable shape and looks up for it!

Good. Get out of this club.
Agreed. Was speaking to somebody today who couldn’t believe Clarke was 30+, guy thought he was mid-20’s!
He’ll be great for us in this division IMO.

Heard today we’ll not be seeing much of Fane this season!

Any ideas who the trialist was who scored the second? Were Missilou and Branger-Engone any good.
I don't know why I'm asking. They're #frenchlads so they must be crap. Apparently.
The 2 signed #Frenchlads were decent today

New lad in middle best player on pitch - like a young J.P. Kalala!!!

Let’s see if they play well again this afternoon. If they do as well as the other night or better then we could have picked up a couple of gems. Technically they are better than other players being signed by other clubs at this level. The negative comments on this board about them are all coming from people who have not seen them play. Even Baxter has said that he’s amazed at the standard that these players have shown. I don’t know why but there seems to be a big anti French contingent on here. Surely it doesn’t matter where a player comes from provided they are better than what we have got and show better ability on and off the ball when they play.
When / where did Baxter say this?

Unless you’re referring to a different Giles Coke to the ex-Wednesday midfielder, then he can’t be surplus to requirements at Posh as played for Chesterfield last season!

Was devastated when we went down, remember my dad telling me when we went down from Prem “don’t worry, son, we’ll be back next year.”
I’ve had season ticket every year since, remember Lee Richardson’s brace against Grit & Curbishley’s Charlton on first game in Div 1 and thinking he was going to be right - how wrong he was!
What upset me about going down is my dad took me in my 1st season when we was playing United, Arsenal and Liverpool, and I’m gonna be taking my 4 year old, for his 1st game, playing against Newport, Forest Green or Grimsby.
However, I’m proud we’ve signed a player that my kid will want on his shirt like Jose, and hope he’ll change my young son’s life life like Roger Palmer, Tricky Ricky and Paul Gerrard did when I was a kid.
I love this club, it goes towards making me the proud person I am, and I can’t wait for the new season with my Dad and my 4 year old!
-
As a young kid and after just being relegated from the Prem, I remember my dad consoling me with “don’t worry, son - we’ll be back stronger next year”.
20+ years later and where are we?
Everybody saying if we go down it’ll be a good thing are deluded, once we’re on slippery slope through leagues then all bets are off with where we’ll end up!

He may have interviewed for the position doesn't he's going to get it. He might not want it.
I don't know if anyone has noticed but Martin Jol (yeah him) is now fourth favourite.
Starting to think this Abdallah chap might have much more to bring to the table than first envisaged.
Even if nothing comes of it, he's had the clout to drag Clarence fuckin Seedorf to Boundary Park!!!

He is friends with Abdullah - I think AL is an agent of his...
Interesting then that Abdullah is already being referred to as owner.
As with others I can't see why Seedorf would be at all bothered about the facilities at BP if wasn't some sort of interest on either side.

Update: We understand that Seedorf is not - and never was - considering becoming Oldham manager. He is friends with the club's owners and was invited by them to look at the structure and set up of the club.
From the BBC website. Was hoping he would come but not looking like it.
Corney and Seedorf being 'friends' seems a bit odd, unless they mean our prospective owners rather than current?
-
Didn't think agents were allowed to own football clubs, even in part.
Wonder whether he's acting on behalf of somebody else as I see from his website that somebody from his agency oversaw the first Chinese takeover of a European club?
Interesting times though and sounds like not to far off with Corney mentioning he'd like it done before end-August.

Conrad Logan - not Northern Irish I know, but has played in area in past...

As you know 24 most people in London do NOT vote labour.....what did they get at last election in London ? About 33% of voted cast?
Isn't it similarly true that most people in the UK did NOT vote Tory at last election?

For those not on Twitter, an article below with some quotes from Mellon’s book.
Think it’s fair to say this guy is a serious operator and makes sense why we’ve given him a 3-year deal:
