You could say that about any winning team but we have him and we also have Taylor, hugher, whitikar etc and they so far are a winning team.

With two quick forward in Davies and O Grady we can afford to play more direct football, its hoofed more into the channels though...

My take is pretty much the consensus of those posted to dated. The signings aren't proven players but, on paper look like they have good potential. As with all groups of potentially good players some will come good some wont. If you're fortunate enough most come good and perhaps exceed normal levels ala the Royle youngsters and we all know what an exciting team with no little ability that outcome produced.

 

One other thing no one seems to have pointed out though my have picked up on, it seems one David Eyres is behind most these signings!

I totallly understand the point of Gregan being the spine but I thought our back line looked stronger without him last year only my opinion. Thought Hazell and Stam were solid...

I remember playing at the golf with Erns and Mark Hudson a few years ago, one of the best laughs I have ever had.

Mike Fillery would have been a quality signing if that guy from Hull hadnt made a horror tackle on him on his debut. Always remember being 2 down and Redfearn hit a 25 yard screemer.

Hessletine was unlucky, broke his leg after being at the club for a couple of weeks...

i don't normally have a name on my shirt (mind you a shirt that i can buy would help!!!) but i think i may have to honour a shirt all the same.....

 

ps....does anyone know what number he had when he played for us?????

Number 4 I think was his,

our thoughts are with ernie & his family.....

Ernie will always be a legend and will live on in our footballing hearts.

This will be a time of reflection however this season we should do it for Ernie.... god bless big fella always the first to play for the shirt..

It wasn't exactly tin pot in 1990, was it? It's a real freak chance that we've never met in all this time, not even in the genuine tin pot trophy. That in itself makes it an imprtant game IMO. Of course getting promoted is bigger than anything, short IMO of the cat in Hell's chance of getting to the latter stages of the FA or League Cups, but football is about more than those things as well.

I predicted the score cause I am looking forward to the fixture and its only only 7 weeks away its pre season were not in the Euros so I am entitled to a bit of forward thinking!!

Where did that pitch invasion happen with the police at BP?

After wrapping the meeting up the MD of the company in Donny saw my Oldham season ticket ( picked it this morning) and told me that they were after or determined to buy Taylor and what ever happens this weekend will not deter them putting an offer in.

This is NOT an ice berg moment and came from a major sponsor of the south yorkshire club. What price minimum I think is 500k

but of course there are a lot of utd fans who dont know that.
