Embargo over, only lasted 4 days...Now tell our new french imports to speed up across that channel
They are in the middle of the channel waiting for a boat to pick them up.

Maybe AL's interview list to any prospective manager is;
- This is what I'm offering!
- Me and our kid are dealing with recruitment!
- This is how I want the team to play!
- If you don't like the first two then the toilet window is open!
- If you agree to the third point but don't do it then be prepared to have your initials burnt off your car parking spot......very quickly!!!
-
Should the Lemsagems get some credit for moving quickly regarding Lang?
Ah bollox, well done Lemsagem Senior and Junior and Pete Wild!!!

Chuckie will creaming himself in anticipation!!!

Should imagine this was always the plan and they've been waiting for a good time to bury it.
Probably explains why Clarke wanted no part of it and neither will any manager worth their salt...
I didn't know you were sorting the shortlist of manager interviews!!!

AL, Wellens, Shez all culpable and you can throw a few others in their as well, but AL unlike SC couldn't see we were going down until it was too late.
Bluddy hell.....there's no margin for error regarding AL with you, is there? AL owned the club for 4 months but you are comparing his 4 months to SC in charge under whose tenure the club deteriorated year on year. I have no doubt the way Sheridan stuck his head in the sand, we would have been relegated far earlier.

This feels like a trap
I hadn't put your name on my list but if you feel neglected, by all means put yourself in there.

Anybody who wants rid of the youth set up is a basic idiot.
Monty, old boy, on a scale of 1 to 10 for being an idiot, where does "basic" sit and with training and experience, can you reach "intermediate" or "advanced" levels?
I only ask, because I'm sure there are some on here who are getting close to the top (but not me, of course)!!!

Sky are saying we've turned down a 200k bid from Scunthorpe for Edmundson.
Is that AL's agents nous coming to play?

Both would come if offered a decent package, some funds to strengthen this month and a competent and supportive chairman.
We have none of those things.
Pretty supportive of Wellens last January, I would say.

I'm sticking with Clarke as player/manager and Santini as Director of Football.

To all Latics fans and families.
I am celebrating in Malta and will be keeping a close watch on tomorrow's match. I shall try not to log on after midnight and exceed my usual obnoxious self.
Here's to a good year, a continuation of our good form of Port Vale and see us move up the table.

I'm not privy to who, if anyone, AL has been instrumental in bringing in over the managers head. However if we make a very general assumption that anyone signed from overseas was an AL pick then some have been successful and some not. The point I was making was that I'd rather stick with 2 loanees who are settled and doing a reasonable job than replace them with 2 more who are likely to take time to settle.
I agree with the continuity as both have had a good half season.
I would like to think that with the successful introduction to the club of Missilou and Branger-Engone (the former more than the latter), AL has a better understanding which of his stable would suit the English game.

Probably because AL brought in players and Sheridan refused to consider them.

Sheridan would. He has nothing nice to say about the regime at the club...
So who actually peddled him?
Was it:
- Corney on his own?
or
- Corney under pressure from AL?

Er, Dowie worked for Moore, Dickov & Johnson for that matter, Corney.
And that would preclude them from having a good word to say about the club?

One would have thought that Shez, Wellens and Bunn will talk to their “colleagues” if asked.
So would Dickov and Dowie.
I don't think for one minute Sheridan would put anyone off us.

Nope, left football a few months ago I believe...
So it wasn't just Latics that thought he was taking up valuable space in the atmosphere?

Heard that Surridge is headed to Pompey and that we have asked about loaning Kean Bryan. I do think Bryan will be back here come Jan.
I can see a few teams coming in for Hunt. He hasn't set the world alight but tends to give a consistent performance and is only young. I know a few Championship sides where sniffing in summer.
To someone mentioning the Preston scout at the Exeter game, I'm pretty sure they have bid for Stockley and have met his buyout clause as have a few championship sides. Not surprising really.
Would be really surprised if some aren't looking at Edmundson too (again, no inside knowledge but my thinking). Up until recently we had barely conceded any away and he's what, 21/22 with I believe the 2nd most 'ball recoveries' in the league. Very comfortable on the ball and is always our 'ball playing centre half' when Iversen has it. Looked very good this season bar a few hiccups and a wobbly 20 minutes against Akinde for Lincoln. I think Sunderland where watching him last season.
Wonder if the #Frenchlads are catching the eyes of any...Maouche has been on fire lately but early days for him year, think teams will want to see a few more months of performances from him.
Have seen us linked with the lad from Barnsley mentioned above as well as a striker from Blackburn...Think it was Joseph Nuttall
Doesn't Dunn look after Blackburn's academy....and, if so, what are the chances of the lad getting sound advice about coming here?

Never been there so haven't gone back.
Apologies, assumption on my part. Buuuut…the question remains the same...do you trust AL to bring in a couple of decent players?
-
2 hours ago, astottie said:
Wow. Thanks for making that clear.
Which if we lose them we would need to. I'd rather keep 2 players who are reasonably settled and playing fairly well. Also as we have no manager currently I don't know who would be bringing new players in, if anyone.
So you are back to not trusting AL to bring in a couple of players from abroad.

Ta. Just looked at Crusoes list. Lyden also. Any idea when the expiry date is for half season loans? If we lose those 2 we are down to the bare bones.
Not sure if you know this little known secret, so I'll whisper it...…..WE CAN BRING IN OTHER LOAN PLAYERS!!!
