There is a distinct lack of praise on here for the owner who has done a deal and brought in the manager many wanted.

Answer to your initial question:No
Now that is a crap response.
Please tell me where I'm wrong?

Trying to work out how much of that is actually proven fact, making a fair few assumptions there.
Of course there are a number of assumptions but please tell me, if you don't agree, where I'm wide of the mark?

The appointment of Scholes is a positive for many reasons, lets see how he goes. The icing on the cake would be that his presence encourages outside investment and gets AL and his brother out of our club (and takes Barry Owen with him)
Do you not accept that it is because of AL that Scholes will be our next manager? He has allegedly used his contacts to finance Scholes coming in and if AL is not there, would that finance also NOT be there?

Only one man can win that amount of games! And as Dunn told us it not Jose! It’s oh Jonny Jonny Jonny, jonny jonny jonny Sheridan
Hellfire.....that is one embarrassing response!!!

Am I reading this bluddy thread correctly...…..we are getting the manager most people wanted (according to the last poll} and yet, on this very topic, we get several posts bemoaning the fact that the EFL have now sanctioned the move and allows him to keep his Salford stake. Some people are now doubting his professionalism and integrity before he's even set the manager's chair to the right height. Get a grip and get behind the new manager in stead of putting imaginary hurdles in the way.

Perhaps FB’s sacking had something to do with one of the players (allegedly) grabbing AL by the throat when he stormed in to the dressing room after the Exeter game .
If this is indeed true.....then it's being kept under wraps very well. I can't see it somehow as there would a case for instant dismissal without recourse and, quite possibly, a court case. It all sounds bollox to me but I don't have an informed source.

It’s touch and go that we’ll get Scholes....do you really believe Butt could be part of the deal too!
Just as a matter of interest if Scholes & Butt wanted to try their hand at management why didn’t they take the Salford job themselves instead of recruiting Alexander?
Could be there is only one club that Scholes would go into management for.....hence why, it appears, he's only ever applied for this gig.

Makes sense to me. I was never a fan of down voting. If you don't agree with, or dislike a comment, make a reasoned argument or response.
Made that exact same point last year......got a number of stupid, unfunny comments thrown back at me.

Well erm yes....but credentials are still the same just qualifications are needed now.
You'll have to let me know what the credentials are that differ from then to now?

I'm going back to at least the nineties. Mad Mick had a shop around the corner from the red lion. You told him what you wanted then he cut your hair however he felt like. Come to think of it, he was probably the nearest barber for Rick Holden when he lived above Garforths Glass. Could explain a lot.
Mad Mick....bluddy hell...now there is a frightening memory.
You could order a pint of Boddies in the Front House, nip into Mick's for the one haircut he could do safely without removing an ear and get back to the Front before said pint had settled.

What credentials does he have as a manager?
Exactly the same as our two longest serving managers.

I'm beginning to wonder if Scholes has what it takes, intelligence wise, to become a successful manager. After all you have to have the ability to plan in advance, adapt plans at short / no notice, and to be able to think on your feet in an evolving situation.
Reckon he did that through 20 years of top flight football.

His injury was nothing to do with home sickness, why would he have come back if that was the case. He was prob carrying an injury and needed time to recover, he looked absolute class to me. Can see him playing at the highest level including England, pace and amazing balance along with good finishing and determination to drop down to league two and play in a shit storm. A lot of pampered prem players wouldn’t do that!
He's a long way off the likes Rashford, Sterling and Kane.
He'll have a good career but, in my opinion, championship at best.

I'm sure the trust can confirm that people have looked at the club over the years but been put off when it was clear the former owner came as part of the package. Joe Royles Chinese group at Wigan for one
I think they were put off by no stadium in the deal rather than Croney.

Too many people putting 2 + 2 together and getting 3 or 5 but never 4.

A special mention for Stott who acquitted himself well considering it was a big leap from Stockport.

According to transfermarket, 18/19
Branger 26 apps, 2 goals, 4 assists
Gevaro 29 apps (at least half a dozen at full back), 3 goals, 7 assists
Lang 32 apps, 8 goals, 1 assist
Maybe we should have started Lang up front tonight.

I wonder if Scholes would see Baxter as a a bit of a deep lying playmaker - like himself for a lot of his own career?
Naah…...he'd see him a sack of sh*t who screwed his talent over.
