  1. 14 minutes ago, League one forever said:

    I’ll rephrase.

I’m suprised people still dissect Karl, when it’s blatantly obvious why he’s contradicting himself, and further that people still think this is a solely ALMO issue. It just isn’t, it happens regularly at clubs when players and clubs fall out.

    We asked him to compromise.

    He said no.

Both sides blame each other, and Karl gets to look silly playing piggy in the middle. That’s it.

We just need to move on. The issues are far bigger and deeper than one player IMO.

Did we ask him to compromise? I thought it was Abdallah who wouldn’t compromise by saying “it would be financially irresponsible” of him to top up the players wages beyond the furlough money paid by the government.

  2. I think the save he is meaning was the one from McGuire from about 5 yards which was a good save but it was his fault for letting the cross bounce in the 6 yard box with nobody around him (Which was the 2nd time he had aloud that to happen). Overall he was very poor today and add to the fact that he should of done a lot better with the goal at Stevenage, is the reason he is righgtfully on the bench and should return then when we play next week.

  3. The main problem today for me was we tried our hearts out and got dicked 2-0, Brentford never broke sweat and dicked us 2-0. I expect this to happen against the scousers not a fellow league one side.

If they had gone for our throats it could quite easily of been 4 or 5. It needed changing a lot earlier on but we carried on with Simpson on the wing who was truley awful. Not his fault he isn't a winger and should be competeing with Baxter for the attacking midfield slot but Dickov has this mentality that he has to play and fits him in where ever he can.

Also we have nothing up front. Smith is only on the pitch to win the headers and get the flick ons but its absolutely pointless flicking them on when no bugger is close to him. Apart from his ability to challenge in the air I'm afraid Smith just does not have enough about him and I doubt he would catch at any other of the 91 clubs at the pro level. It also doesn't help when your defence gives away easy goals week in week out.

I also get the feeling todays subs were a way of Dickov saying to Corney "look these youngsters arn't up to the challenge I need more addition's" as we were already well beaten and the changes he did make were baffling to say the least. Kirk Millar Playing the holding roll in centre mid is well up there with the worst subs I've ever seen.

Things need to change and quickly, Personally now Baxter is signed up there is no reason to keep Dickov and I'd get rid. Nice man but poor manager. But I do think he will be here whilst were still in the cup at least, and unfortunatly that has masked his failings in the league for over 2 years now. As much as I've loved the cup runs I think we would struggle to bounce back from relegation and we need to avoid that happening at all costs.

  4. Seems a very odd move. If Dickov isn't performing, sacking his assistants is missing the point.

I hope we don't go down the route of a technical director. An expensive exercise and unproven at this level.

To me o4u nails it. It's a way to push Dickov into resigning without sacking him.

I think that looks the most likely. Surely SC isn't silly enough to let him get a whole new backroom team in, and then run the risk of having to fire them all off if things don't improve.

  5. He needs an older head with him someone like a Peter Reid or Brian Horton (not saying it should be 1 of those 2 but I wouldn't object to either) The current set up is too negative and (1) the blinkers are on with the professional staff and (2) the unexperienced and unquallified one is not upto the job

i agree with everything till this point im sorry but on the other tougchline was dean saunders with less league experience than dickov and he did fine and last week was di canio, same applied the experience thing dosent wash with me any more

But surley they have yet to prove they need help as they are performing to their expectations whereas Dickov has failed to meet our expectations for the last 2 years and especially this season. Don't get me wrong I think we have to sack him but the whole coaching setup was wrong from the start, needed older heads not friends.

  6. 1st half an hour we played well, after that we were shocking. Defensivly we look as solid as I have seen for a long time in front of that we struggle. Passing was woeful at best tonight and too many times we found the 2 Carlise centre midfielders. Despite playing as bad as we did for the last 90 minutes we still had our chances which we once again failed to take. looks like we're 4 or 5 players short still as looking at the bench tonight it was made up full of kids (Gerrard apart).

A major improvement is need for saturday.

  7. We need a goalscorer, we have needed one all season its time now to go out and find one before the loan window closes. Tonks is a target man Feeney is useless, Brooke and Reid are not the answers, Taylor and Morais are wingers we need someone who will put away the chances we create although at the minute we havn't been creating too much but still the ones we do create are usually very tame efforts.

Other than that we need to get a settled side in my opinion there seems to be too many players coming in for a game then back to the bench the next, mainly the wingers over the past few games we have started Taylor, Morais, White, Evina, Jones and lewis and its not suprising the strikers are getting poor service when we're constantly changing players who are the suppose to supply them.

The negative PR that has come out of the club in the last couple of months needs to stop,no coincidence that this run has coincided with the Failsworth fiasco, groundsharing statements, players not being payed rumours surley this over recent times has had to have had affect on the club and it will eventually filter down to the players and show on the pitch.

We desperatly need a win against the bin dippers if we fail then the momentum of this run could really be dangerous. (not that its not now)

  8. This is one of the things I dont get. We wont be able to play for free at Gigg Lane/Spotland/Edgely Park/Wherever, so there is a cost involved still. Plus, the crowds their will be a lot less than the 3500 home support we are currently getting, so we would be well f***ed.

Well Hardy mentioned that it could cost £350,000 to maintain BP. Bury are charging FC scum 5 grand a game so over 23 home games that would cost us £115,000 assuming they charge us the same. That alone is a massive saving to a club like us, obviously other things have to be taken into consideration but i understand why they are thinking about it.

  9. Thought Alan Lee with his Terry Butcher style bandaged head was very embarrasing throwing himself around all day. I dont think they had a shot on target only a miss placed cross from pilkington that nearly found its way inside amos' near post. poor game really we had a couple of chances just after half time but apart from that not much else, the 2 teams just seemed to cancel each other out. The ref just couldn't help trying to be centre of attention which didn't help anyone. overall its a good point were still 6th and another tough game out of the way.

  10. He put one great cross into the box that deserved Alan Shearer on the end of it, it was that good, in the 1st half. I think he is better suited to the left wing as he seems to like cutting in from that side and has the ability to shoot or just slip a ball past the defence for the forwards to run onto as he did for fun against hudders.

Regarding his contract I'm sure Dickov has stated that there are a few clubs that are after him and one from the Championship so I doubt it is only down to money as if that was the case I would of thought he would be long gone by now but from all reports he apparently wants to stay here and enjoys it. who knows what he is being offered it could be a crap contract as we are hardly flush with money.

Well after being on many a booze bus over the last few years I could recommend them a few pubs where they can get a decent pint and make the trip worth while
