I will be there tomorrow, I've paid for it so might aswell however Iwon't be renewing, a couple of friends are still undecided.
Unless things change in the coming months I intend to donate some of the money that I would have spent on a ST with a donation to the Community Trust to help their ongoing work.

To be held on Monday 17th December, 6 - 8pm - Ten Pin Bowling, Sandbrook Park, Rochdale.
Ages 5-13
Members £9
Non Members £11
Refreshments included.
So, as advised, I arrived at the ticket office to pay for my son.
I was turned away as I only had a £20 note, and asked to return later with the correct money.
I jest not!
Instead of posting on a messageboard why not ring OACT up and discuss with them?
A quick search gives their number as 0161 785 5176. As OACT and OAFC are different companies the problem might lie there.

Fair play, a decent idea! The club and community trust are getting quite abit right recently in terms of community engagement.

How many of the Community Trust staff are Asian?
How many Asian Weddings has the OEC hosted?
How many of the kids that attend the Latics Zone are from minority groups?
How many teams of the week hosted at HT have Asian kids in them?

Definite ring to it. Asian kids are football daft, get them involved. Involve the community. Oldham like it or not is diverse and this multi-ethnicity is here to stay, For me the club could be doing much more, not simply going into schools.
They do alot more than just going into schools - their kicks project for example. I know that from this project they have taken on several asain coaches.
Drop their community manager an email - martin.vose@oldhamathletic.co.uk. I'm sure he'd welcome any ideas.

Fans can transfer between stands without bureaucracy, just present your season ticket at any turnstile and they will let you in, would of been a good game to let everyone in the Rocky for a fiver and a quid for kids in my opinion.
To be fair this is going on today:

Just another example of the good work being done by the community team at the club lately!
-
Chaddy is there every match, spending plenty of time with the kids & the Community Trust do loads for & with local schools when they're open.
I notice on their social media that they have given out 100 children tickets at their holiday club? A decent idea, hopefully taken up by a few.
Is the club doing enough to tap into the local Asian community?
I suppose this would again come under the community section. In the programme there was a small photograph from their Kicks project which involved a team of young asian lads.

Am i right in thinking there aren`t really any local pubs to the ground?
Any recomendations?

Following on from the above post by sholver did anyone start or restart watching Latics off the back of an offer kids for a quid/ free tickets to schools/ bring a mate for a fiver?
While they don't bring masses back through the gate in the short run it would be interesting to see how many people have started watching Latics due to a promotional offer even if 1 person starts watching that extra person over a sustained period of time putting money in is one more person per game than was had previously that person could start supporting us for years.

It`s a start.

Has anyone seen the below youtube video from today? It`s some of the children from the OACT holiday club inside the ground, hopefully it`ll help to create a couple of new fans.

Is he related to Gillian Nutall, once of these parts, and Grace Nutall wh works at Latics?
I know it is not an uncommon name, just curious.
Absolutely no relation.

My mate is the new chaddy
I always thought Chaddy was afew different people anyway and not just one person?
I know one or two of the lads who used to work for their community scheme and there staff also do alot of visits as Chaddy - summer fairs, schools visits etc.
-
Could it be tied in with the upcoming staff v fans? Might not be a huge money maker but its a way of fans meeting manager/players?
-
There will be a regular kids game at HT, as part of the "team of the week" scheme. It was introduced towards the back end of last season which saw a team perform a guard of honour as the players come out, play on the pitch at HT and recieving a write in both the programme and website.

Goo point but reckon the police Bill for the Huddersfield game would be a simliar one.
I`d highly doubt, there was only 1600 there in total (home and away) this summer just gone.
-
Apart from a crowd of at least 3500 paying £10 each.
The game would attract a large police bill though I'd imagine.
-
Ahh, the same Mikael Silvestre who is out for 6-9 months with an injury sustained in training ....................... ?
-
Think logically, he's hardly going to come out say we have x amount to spend (like Port Vale) as players will up their demands. SC/LJ will be keeping their cards close to their chest, help to determine who wants to join the club and who just wants the £££
-
I'm seeing all over Twitter tonight good things from both the boundary blues party and a training session for kids on the pitch. Again things that help to entice younger fans to games. All these added with the £10 offer have really boosted attendances of the "right kind of younger Oldham fan".
-
I read on one of the earlier pages that they club/community trust should do more work regarding this. The club and community trust do so much work with both the asian community and the whole community of Oldham with much of the work going un-noticed. Kickz for example runs in the Coldhurst/Westwood area and each week over 100 young people attend over 3 sessions. On a Sunday morning they work in partnership with Red Star Bengal and coach upto 50 kids in the Greenhill area. Add this work to the schools they visit, development centres they run and also other activities like birthday parties, holiday activities, matchday clubs, player visits and half-time childrens games on the pitch, the club and community trust can`t do much more to engage with it`s community and attract people to Boundary Park.
I`m sure if anyone wants anymore information on the community work being done then Martin Vose will be happy to help (martin.vose@oldhamathletic.co.uk).

Bring it, but just learn how to actually drum.

Given the context of this thread it's good to see this kind of work still being done, albeit by OACT.
