  1. No repeat victory for me tonight - out in 7th :-( LaticsBlue was still battling away in 5th, but I'm not sure who the remainder supported. It was a very quiet final table - once we got rid of the gobby BinDipper who insisted on singing Tranny songs throughout the game.
  2. £25 to sign up! You make it sound like it's a fee just to be a member of PartyPoker SAV. You need to deposit £25 when you open an account then you play tourneys or cash games with that money. Could last you 5 minutes or 5 years depending on how good/lucky you are. Surely other sites are similar?
  3. Once went in the Gelderd End at Leeds with my late dad and his mate - I was about 15 - best 0 - 0 ever! I breathed out after 90 mins. A few years later, just before Christmas, I went to West Ham with a mate who got us complimentary tickets. We were in the corner of the main stand and recognized about 6 other Latics fans. Whilst we were whispering what should we do if we score, we did! In 1st minute! We all went mad - cover blown. Latics won 2-1 and one particularly vile Hammer was shouting all sorts of filth as we left at the end of the game. One of the lads there - the really huge fella who still goes today (sorry don't know his name) - shouts over "Merry Christmas" and everybody (including Hammers) cracks up laughing.
  4. Thanks mate - you came 2nd? I was comfy then on my arris then came good in the end. Bury lad blew it with 1 or 2 needless and careless calls. Good game though with bit of banter.
  5. Dave, Werneth is about 1/2 mile and Mumps is about 2 mile from ground. I think all trains that leave Mumps bound for manchester call at Werneth anyway. I stand corrected if somebody knows better. Dont worry about missing your train - you will be able to leave at 4.30 - We can see you sneakin' out! LOL! Enjoy the trip and the game. Ste

  11. I don't mean the half time scores from League 1 - I mean Liverpool v Barcelona for example. I would rather watch that match without knowing the score.
  12. First of all, I am a season ticket holder and have been going to BP for nearly 40 years so nothing will stop me going. But, I wonder how many floating fans are put off going to Latics because the latest scores/results of the live tv football/rugby/cricket match are announced. I will V+ say the Champions League games when Latics play on a Tuesday night, but I hear at least the half time score and sometimes full time score if I am unlucky and that ruins it for me. It is hard enough to get people out of their armchair on a freezing Tuesday night, but they may just be tempted if they knew they coud watch the TV match "as live" when they get home. The same thing applies when international rugby matches or The Grand National are held on a Saturday. I asked the club not to announce these scores/results, but they said people like to know. How do they know? And how do they know how many potential fans are put off? If people do want to know they can take a radio or a mobile phone with internet or wait until they get home to find out.
  13. I think we have enough with 6 strikers. Hughes will be sharper after pre season training which he missed last year. Davies did well to score 14 considering he missed last 10 games and spent too much time drifting out to wings and back to centre circle. If he spends more time within the width of the goals he will be League 1 top scorer. When he does drift wide (occasionally) we need a midfielder (or 2) making runs into the box. The other 4 strikers are adequate back up for these 2 and will score their fair share when they get on.
  14. Name? Steve Bolton Location? Middleton How Long Supporting the Tics? 37 years Best away match you've been to? Southampton (League Cup Quarter Final - Ritchie 97th minute equaliser) All Time Greatest Player? Andy Ritchie Biggest Rivals (in your eyes)? Manchester United
