I thought he looked very much like Steve Gerrard in his demeanour. Jacko and I commented on it last night, we wouldn't be surprised to find out he's his fav player and he's modelled himself around him. Looked promising I must say.
The Bury fans have said very similar things about him.

Was just coming to post that - how did you find them? I know the guy through Hattrick.
Heh, he just posted the pics on the Rhyl board.

is this over yet? was expecting a victory tonight, but im quite pleased with the 3-0 score line. not bad for the first game back with a variety of new players in there.
not getting excited yet tho. i never read too much into preseason
Yeah, it'll be finished now.
And I agree, Sheridan's comments will be worth more than the scoreline. The first couple of friendlies especially are for just getting back into the swing of things and so forth.

As in Norman Whiteside of course!

Good find next you will be telling me you typed in "Paul's Chippy" and hey presto
Hehe, I knew it's name, I live in Bolton.
Never been to it though.
-
I thought it was in Bolton? and didn't Notts County beat West Ham 3-1 on that final day?
-
I heard Whitaker is very left-footed.
-
Isn't that Danny Whitaker's role at the club?
Spot on.
Also, expect O'Grady to play on the left.
-
Just goes to show the true standard of the average MLS player.... He wasnt very good....
He's in the team ahead of the likes of Juan Pablo Angel and Danny Dichio...
Also, the all-star game is in the middle of the season.
MLB All-Star game next week, should be a laugh.
-
I expect O'Grady to be played on the left, after comments that he is 2-footed, Corney saying he can play either flank, and that he has been given number 11.
-
If it was up to me, I would have a minute's silence before the Millwall game, as this is a tragedy.
But I would then have Rochdale vs Latics be Ernie Cooksey Day, and have a minute's applause before that game.

Teams promoted into this division generally stay up.
Having said that, Hereford and Stockport need to get squads together sharpish!

Slavisa Jokanovic 17 Million Chelsea paid for him in 2000, he played 19 games in 2 seasons.
1.7 million, not 17 million!

Comments on another forum:
"First Grant for £130k now Zola for £200k. We're the Chelsea of League One, only :censored:e. Still over spending on average players."
"Worst signing of the Summer by miles. What the hell is going on at Crewe? He'd be a bad signing if he was a free transfer, but £200k?!"

Someone said most League One teams keep their kit for ages, this is not actually the case, many teams actually have a new HOME kit every year as well as an away one. Swansea also bring out a new away kit every 6 months.
Also, lower league teams with the likes of Adidas and Nike actually do their deals with UK subsidary companies, the kind who do "Get a Nike kit for your team!" deals. You'll notice they're just the same design on all of them but with different colours.
Here are some other League One kits, for comparison:
Adidas - Peterborough Away Kits (note the black kit is exactly the same as Derby's away kit!!!)
Errea - Cheltenham Home & Away
Puma - Leyton Orient Home & Away

I'm usually good, but I've been rubbish with 08. =(
-
Last we heard was that he should be in the first or second week of pre-season training.

What a conisedence. I've spent most of my life in Frankfurt (Spaarbrucken). Cought a game or two, Borussia and Bayern.
Yeah, they have a group of fans that get to a Latics game every year, they came to Oldham vs Leeds last season. They have a cool half-blue/half-red and black flag too, which Franny got them to show off to everyone a few years ago, hehe.
-
Pleased that we have (reportedly) beaten Peterborough to get him, they're a club on the rise.
-
He got loads of goal in 02/03 with Macclesfield!
Good competition in midfield with Allott, Lee, Whitaker and Stephens now.
-
This could be something Sky Sports News could run.
"It may be 16 days until the new Premier League season, but the Football League kicks off in just 9 days time! And one fan has already set off for the first match..."
Then at the end they could give a website for people to make donations.

Would he need a work permit?
Very good point.
Unless he holds citizenship of an EU member state, this seems like a non-starter to me.
(e.g. Chelsea's Ben Sahar's mother is Polish, and he has a Polish passport)

By playing i the 3 cup competitions. Or playing anyone we want in a reserve friendly, perhaps Doncaster who use the same system.
Did them no harm last season.
