  1. This cannot happen, absolutely not.

I have argued with all sorts of people about this; my position is that it should be down to each club whether they take a punt on the bad karma he brings, but that he should be able to play if he can find a club willing to take on such toxic baggage. If a club are that morally bankrupt then it would say more about them than anything else. Never did I seriously think that we'd be that club.

There is no way that we should even contemplate this. I pray that the club are looking at this board and taking heed; I will not be watching him ever.

    This is utterly despicable.

    This. DO NOT SIGN HIM!!

  2. The Howard and Globe are both :censored:holes aren't they? Well, the Globe was a Scream pub last time I looked, and the Howard has never looked like one to pop into.

If you are arriving on the train, the Sheffield Tap is in the station. So can't fail but be on your way.The Rutland Arms is also around that area. That was good last time I was in there (though strangely there was a wedding party on, so we made our excuses after a pint and a quick go at the buffet).

  3. Just in from the match, (live in Scotland) sat in the Scotland end and I can honestly say I've never been to a match anywhere where there is such hatred towards the other team and fans.

I got dogs abuse throughout so glad to be home

    In one piece!!!!!

England fans were excellent throughout, they must have been taking lessons from the athleticos!

To be fair, if you've been in Scotland for more than five minutes you'd have realised that was going to happen. It's what makes the win so sweet. Not that England won, but that Scotland lost in what is their World Cup final.

  4. Denver. Had a tough schedule and still in contention to win the AFC (Indy, Seattle, Arizona, San Fran, San Diego and Patriots all played).

On the NFC side, Arizona shouldn't suffer through the loss of Palmer too much, as he just isn't much better than the reserve. The Seahawks are still a good side, and San Fran aren't rubbish. Green Bay seem to be pulling themselves together. Think Detroit have just had an easy schedule and strike me as a bit :censored: really (Giants, Jets, Buffalo, Minnesota, Atlanta, Miami), the best team they've played is probably the Saints (who are no great shakes away from their dome) or Carolina who beat them easily. So in short, I suspect the other contender will be Seattle/Arizona.

    But Denver.

  5. I'd love if Shildon could scrape through. Away tie, of course. It's a little village in County Durham. Watched my lass's brother play there earlier this year. The bar is 6ft across.

A lot of Mackems drop in. Lots of donated memorabilia in the smallest of club houses.

Shildon's ground is positively plush for the Northern League. The ground is marvelous, with its little 'drop' in the terrace opposite the main stand (unless they have started doing it up). Plus if you are of a mind to, the National Rail Museum (one of) is in Shildon.

Though 'little village'? Has 10,000 people living there. And about 15,000 horses. I'd not be hanging around particularly though. It's only a couple of weeks since someone got sent down after eating 100 magic mushrooms, then going on the rampage after seeing dead people in the street. I'm not sure the mushrooms made any difference.

  6. I don't think I hate any clubs anymore, just not worth the effort. I've a strong dislike for United & City but got a few good mates/family that support them so want them to do well for their sakes. I really dislike MK Dons for introducing franchising into British Football. Liverpool get on my tits as do Leeds and Newcastle.

English football. Livingston did that before them.

  7. We have just got back from driving from Leyburn, Aysgarth, Hawes, Buttertubs pass Reeth, Grinton then back to Leyburn. The Dales are chocker block with people camping, in farmers fields with caravan/camper vans,. And for weeks on end we have had thousands of cyclists doing "The route", including the teams. This thing is going to be massive. We are expecting 10,000 people in Leyburn as it is a designated hub, with lots of entertainment laid on. Should be very good.

    That's where I'm heading!

But, you underestimate I think. It's 10,000 car parking spaces and 20,000 people on their site. Aim to get to the car park queue by 10:00 - and hope that there is decent organisation (aka wing it).
