  1. I don't see what a Saturday night piss up has got to do with all this. Firstly not all of the Swindon contingent would have been out tonight, some players, officials, Directors etc won't be in Manchester, its a players night out. The overnight is for the night before so the paty go-ers would have had to make their own way home tomorrow and pay for their stay tonight I guess.

With the cancellation they will now have had to pay for their journey up as well, bless.

The Swindon team are booked into their hotel Friday and sat night ! They are all out on a team night out tonight including some of the coaches

The only people who benefited was the Swindon fans who didn't travel !

Tonight is a Swindon club Xmas night out organised by the manager I've just been told

  2. None of us know the true cash flow implications for the club - I suspect the funds are there to see us through in to January. If they are, then a hard nosed businessman may consider wating 4 weeks for a higher income preferable to a small payday today.

Assuming the pitch was playable this morning, there is little doubt in my mind that for footballing reasons alone it was in Latics interest to play the game. Swindon had just played extra time with 10 men, had Douglas suspended and our players should be fresh.

It hasn't been played for whatever reason. But that pitch inspection wasn't needed yesterday - and it won't have been Swindon Town who requested it.

My understanding from being told by a player is that Swindon asked for an early inspection and Hardy obliged them without consulting Dickov

That's why Dickov is fuming! He was desperate for the game to be on - for some of the reasons you mentioned

  3. Amended the post.

If the Janaury gate is higher than they would have got today (which, if it's played on a Saturday it will be), the income for the match could be over 50% higher.

Money in Jan is all well and good but the club have bills to pay now !

If the weather is bad in Jan we could lose 1 - 2 or 3 home games in ten days

Playing the game today would have been the best decision based on actual income being brought in not possible increased income in 5 weeks time

  4. quite probably but the ref who was appointed by the League to make the inspection was confident enough to ccall it off. hopefully on Monday we'll hear from the club about the actual condition on Saturday, and if the water had drained away or if there was still frost in the pitch.

I really don't believe that any club in our circumstances is going to cut off cash flow....

Many things puzzle me about the game being called off so early !

Why when the away team were travelling for the game anyway !

The management wanted a pitch inspection on the sat morning along with Lee the head Groundsman !

The official asked to do the inspection was a local Ref and a friend of Hardy. The top water was what worried the ref but this was all gone this morning when Paul Butler walked the pitch.

From what a players told me today Dickov is fuming and will be at the club on Monday making his feelings known

Seems the pitch inspection should be called by the manager yet Dickov didn't know anything about it until Thursday night

Somebody has made a true and royal cock up here and cost the club thousands - but thats the latics way

  5. Newyork boss has long gone he has severed ties so good luck getting a response from him however, that is the problem the ceo can only deal with what he is given the owners are the ones who have the biggest say.

In answer to your question I would imagine that the club has lost money every year, year on year since 1995 which was a temporay blip between 1990 and 1995 as that was one of the rare times OAFC made any money the previous 100 years plus we would have been losing money hand over fist year on year.

strange as over 200 free tickets have been given out over the last 15 years every game and I have been told the club have recently enjoyed a success from the carpark that is makeing 100% more money than normal.

The commercial side of the club is socking, the club shop has been shocking until this time last year, £0000's as been wasted on free tickets when the club has been begging for fans to turn up on matchdays and it seems even the carpark was losing money?

The CEO is responsible for looking after all this isnt he? Nevermind, he did post a few tickets to fans personally and he does reply back to fans emails.

TTA have made mistakes that is evident but we have been struggling for longer than the last 7 years.

  6. It seems everyone is thinking that the clubs struggled over the last 15 years which means we are in this mess !

    Question:

Who has been responsible for the club and its direction of the last 15 years ?

    Second Question:

Is replying to emails to fans quickly more important to a CEO than ensuring the club is run correctly and to the benefit of the club?

I have been told a lot of people are upset at the moment because they have been getting free tickets for the last 10 years and now all that as been stopped ! Why have so many people been getting free tickets for so long?

Can New York boss or the fans rep answer my last questions? How much money has the club lost in this time?

  7. RoyleArmy is Father Time.

    RoyleArmy speaks, we listen.

Penney wouldnt listen to RoyleArmy and now he is no more!

    RoyleArmy says:

RoyleArmy found the Americas not Columbus

    RoyleArmy is divine comedy.

    RoyleArmy ! Nuff Said

  8. Is everyone's favourite ex ranking officer at GMP and trust director not knocking about to defend his best buddy tonight??

That's a surprise considering how quick he was to criticise certain people who dared criticise the convict the other day!!

IF this rumour is true, I ask two questions.

    1. What made Hughes Snap?

    2. Why didnt Hardy make a formal complaint to the police, afterall there was enough police on site to get one! ?

Maybe, well im 10% sure Hardy is aware that Hughes may have had good reason to have a word with him. If Hughes was wrong and out of order, then the police would have been called. If Lee was right then ???? well, the police wouldnt have been called - Hardy wouldnt want the reason he (LH) did it (allegedly)

From the rumour, one thing confirmed Hardy wasnt hit or physically harmed !

  9. We really should have tried harder to keep him... Leopard...spots.

Is he still on parole? Could be back in the big house tonight.

Hughes on the pitch is handful.

Crossing the working class footballer who isnt the brightest isnt smart !

Maybe the truth about Hughes leaving will come out one day !
