  1. Hines is big enough to cope at cope at centre back, he has potential and reminds me of Richard Jobson in style.

    Time will tell though.

Agree CB is his position, he played out of position for us a few weeks ago to help the team

Now he will show his class at CB and keep both Greegs and Rube on their toes

  2. Evening sir. I believe he signed a one year deal in the summer (for much less money).

Yep for much less money but a good appearance fee !

So the £100's of pounds that Andy L is collecting for his 4 mins, 5 mins sometimes even 8 mins in games on top of his basic wage is justified ?

    Andy L hasnt played a full 90 mins for us including all his sub appearances for months, the time he is on the pitch is it worth it ? Could Shez have;

    1) Saved the club £x in wage bonuses

    2) Enabled some-one like Lee or Black et al some 1st team exp.

    3) Made Andy L play for a full game an actually earn his money ?????

Shez in or shez out, thats not my issue. My money, Your money is being wasted on A player like Andy L who hasn't done anything with his time on the pitch recently.

Agree Andy L is helping Smalley and other players in training but if thats what he is here for (coaching) so be it ! But why bring him on with mins to go like against Bristol Rovers were there was nothing he could do when others on the bench really need the time for experience (which everybody keeps saying Lids as lots of) but dont get it

  3. Really what is your problem?

    Cheers,

    Harry

I would say aprrox AL played 45 mins football for us in the last 6 matches coming on as Sub but cost us £3000 minimum in appearance fees

    Thats my problem.

Shez didnt have to make a sub at that point no player was injured just like the other 6 last appearances

Maher could have lasted the last 4-5 mins

Oldham: Budtz, Eardley, Hazell, Gregan, Golbourne, Hines, Allott, Maher (Liddell 89), Smalley, Hughes, Windass (Whitaker 76).

Subs Not Used: Bell, Alessandra, Stam.

or Shez could have taken off KM and brought on Alessandra dropping Smalley back on the right

defending from the front line with fresh fast pace in Alessandra pushing onto the NTFC back line

We won today you will not hear me complain about that

If we won 1-0 most weeks I would be happy

It frustrates me AL comes on with less than 5 mins to go and gets good money for it when we are skint (as we keep being told)

  4. Yeah, releasing Lidds would save them loads wouldn't it?!?!:blink:

After some of the previous halfwits that we've had to pay off, paying off one of our senior pros is not going to save us money, I can assure you of that!

Ive not said pay him off

Merely send him out on loan so his appearance fees wouldnt cost us his wage of 2 years ago

Before anyone says we dont know his wages and appearance fees. AL didnt stay at the club for LOVE and its been stated by AL, Corney and others at the club that AL took a basic wage cut to stay

Dont mind having AL start if thats whats best for the team but my beef is that we only bring him on for the last 5 mins etc when its costing us £££££££££

  5. Sorry but have to agree its time for AL to get out on loan to get off our wage bill

    Questions: !

Andy Liddell is on a reduced wage on his new contract

Majority of his wage is made up on appearance fees so why on his last 5+ matches coming on as Sub costing us money ? There are other options on less money on the bench who could do the same job surely?

Corney is always telling us we are losing money and we have the 4th 5 th 6th lowest wage bill in our league ?

Cost cutting exercise there TTA for you saving you £500 (educated guess) a game in fees that dont need to be paid !

I would say aprrox AL played 45 mins football for us in the last 6 matches coming on as Sub but cost us £3000 minimum in appearance fees

Great team performance today, we could and should have won by more but thats football - Left the ground feeling positive about the teams capabilities but frustrated at some of the subs made.

  6. Don't like it, don't read it.

Attention seeking - not on your nelly, just sick of all the fawning praise heaped upon half arsed and half hearted players.

I'm going to love the death of football, one day it will jump up its own self super inflated arse and take every happy clappy clown with it.

The pragmatists such as myself will shrug our shoulders and go and support some no marks in the Tandle Hills Lovely Sunday 11 League.

Sheridans blue and white army clap clap clap, Lee Hughes is the best thing since sliced Hovis clap clap clap. It's all a bunch of bollocks.

    Derek.

Thats a simple one to remedy, dont go to Latics or professional football in general !

Wilson, You do seem very bitter about something ? in my opinion, which I hope doesn't offend you. Afterall your opinion doesn't offened me, frankly it makes me laugh <_<

  7. He had his moment on Sky when we beat Port Vale 2-1 and he came on as sub.

About time we all move on. Sing for players we have playing for us at the moment.

Like Windass who you have slated for weeks but no doubt are accolading now ?

Ernie is the spirit of the fans, the passion of what we want to achieve. How when sometimes we are not the best we can still win or come form behind all odds to get a result

    Ernie 4 England

  8. Shez is like a bad chef with a kitchen full of good ingredients. (The current squad is capable to gain promotion, if managed right)

We have so far been lucky that other teams have dropped silly points along the way

We have NOT performed for well over 2 months like a top 6 team

The faces of 2 directors today (Hardy and Hill) leaving their box said it all, Disappointment and frustration was clearly seen on their face

IMO shez has lost some of the dressing room, I cant say why I think this but looking at the argument Hughes had with Shez today, Eardley had a few weeks ago, Gregan has had a numerous times, Windass back chat to Shez also today, the O'Grady situation and something I have been told today by a person who works at the club. A few players are now questioning how Shez does things

Some players talk back to shez on the pitch during a game like I would do arguing with a mate or even people off her in the pub, thats not repect for your Boss! I would never dream of arguing infront of other stff with my boss.

The match day preparation for the team is lacking guidence, managment and leadership. !

Quote a play who is no-longer at the club "I wasnt one of the lads, I didnt get a chance"

  9. who can argue when rick was here he never gave 100% for the team.

    cheers

Fair play to RW for supporting the Legend that is Ernie

RW only gave 100% when he wanted to, he lost his head when things wasn't going his way ( Tranmere home game getting sent off in the 89 min)

A good player at this level, big fish in a crap and murky Div 3 pond. I thnk the fact Doncaster are not doing well at the moment shows that as a creactive midfielder he cant do his job at that level. He may have scored a few himself but his main job of supplying the front lads as been poor.

RW went missing to many times for us which made him imo a frustrating player.

Leaving for more money and furthering your career isn't a problem, its the way players do it that is !

  10. Apart from Gregan's DD charge, the rest - to me at least - is no more than suppoisition and rumour. And frankly I couldn't care less if some of the players like a drink or two if it's at least three nights before a game.

And in mentioning Gregan, you make a totally incorrect statement about the time it takes alcohol to get out of the system.

    NEXT!

The length of time after you finish drinking alcohol that it will still be in your system depends on how much you drank and the period of time in consideration. Generally speaking, people metabolize alcohol at the rate of 1/2 to 3/4ounce per hour (that's half an ounce of absolute alcohol -- or one "standard" drink) -- roughly equivalent to: 12 ounces of beer, 10 ounces of microbrew, 1-1/4 ounces of 80-proof liquor or 4 ounces of wine. Therefore, if you consume three standard drinks -- regardless of how long it took you to drink them -- it would take you three hours to be completely free of alcohol. This should hopefully make it apparent that alcohol builds up in your body over time because the liver can only metabolize one an hour.

The other examples are facts when members of this MB either attended the said party or knew mates there

Allowing players to drink when big games are coming up is unprofessional ! Alcohol dehydrates you for up to 3 days, athletes and yes our players should be these need to be fully hydrated to achieve optium performance and not be sluggish on the pitch and lathargic !! Anyone seen the players looking tired recently ??

Players are allowed to drink fair enough but moderately during the season, thats of course if they are wanting to play at he highes level

Hughes being in the pub a lot ! Why are the club allowing him to leave ?

  11. I've yet to see anything more concrete than malicious rumour about this supposed drink culture at the club, let alone drinking the night before a game.

how much evidence do you need ?

Captain Sean gets charged with drink driving on the way to training ! Seeing alcohol takes upto 4 hrs to get out the system gregan Must of been drinking to late knowing he had training the next day

One of our young lad has a big house warning party on a thursday night before the big game v hudds

Hughes is in his local more than im at work !

Most players can be seen out most sat and sun nights with senior latics officials !

Thats only a few examples !

The club discipline is poor imo

  12. He's the Officer armed with the Police Intelligence on Latics fans.

He and his Essex counterpart gave the Latics 9 their blessing in the Southend pub. On hearing of the 9's ejection after the Police had left, he was flabbergasted and subsequently got his Essex counterpart to take up the matter with the pub concerned.

P.S All 9 were reunited just inside the turnstiles yesterday - quite a moving occasion. B)

Is there a "I'm bored of this story icon Mods ?"

You were asked to leave a pub - Ring the The Times

maybe it was due to the landlord thinking a regular may hit you or someone in your group later in the day and it was done for your safety ?

  13. Players like Lee, Stephens, Fleming (before he got into the 1st team) Ogrady, Lewis, Davies are all running on imo 70 % because they are NOT match fit !

If they are thrown into the 1st team they are off there game which means the teams suffers

Ogrady and davies are then sent out on loan to score goals for other teams

Stephens and lee are left playing PS3 and getting frustrated.

Being able to run 10 miles and feeling ok isnt being match fit !
