neal eardley ??? went for £350k ! why? because he refused to sign another contract with the club ! john toshack told him to get to a bigger club to stay in the welsh team.

Eardley went for the price the only club in for him could afford to pay ! we took the money or risk losing him in the Jan for a lot less.

Eaves a youth team player with some 1st team experience has left for over £250,000 - he may never live up to his potential - Can we afford to take the risk on players who MAY be worth more money sometime in the future. ?

No point appointing anyone, ALAN HARDY will continue to make the decisions and make the same mistakes no matter who gets the job!

Barry, I hope before the game on saturday you could pass on a word of thanks to Lee for the goals he got for the team and the effort he showed in his time here.

 

I have spoken to him occassionally when I have seen him out and about on his visits back to the area and despite leaving he still loves the fans and the club for how we gave him a chance and rhe fans for their support during his time. He has stated that if things had been different with regard to people in high office within their club and their opinions etc, he would still be with us, alas that is football and people move on.

 

Please also could you pass on that (i would hope) all the fans wish him good luck and those that choose to boo don't, i would think, speak for the majority of fans who appreciated Lee during his time here.

You forgot to mention that he would have stayed if someone in high office didnt want to teach hughes a lesson and sent him to Pool because he wouldnt sign for a championship club in the Jan after stating he wanted to stay at Oldham once the final terms of the contract offered were sorted.

Joe Royle made many mistakes in his last tenure at the club, one was listening to high office and believing that the team didnt need hughes. Afterall Royle got the best out of R Holden, A Holden and Palmer who all liked a drink

He said that Penney knew he would be out for a long time when he bought him, he thanks Oldham for helping him through the bad times and his rehabilitation but he's looking to get fit and move onto another club asap.

He only planned on playing at this level for a season and Oldham were just a stepping stone, he hopes that Penney gets sorted soon and then he will team up with him asap.

Blackpool have reportedly tabled a bid for Oldham Athletic striker Tom Eaves, according to Sky Sports News.

 

The teenage striker only broke into the Oldham side last season but impressed many onlookers with a series of assured performances.

 

He had already started to attract attention from Premier League clubs before a stunning performance in a pre-season game against Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday night.

 

Eaves stepped off the substitutes' bench to score a hat-trick in his side's 3-0 victory over the Premier League side.

 

Blackpool have reportedly bid of £250,000, which could rise to as much as £1 million with add-ons, as they look to strengthen ahead of their debut season in the Premier League.

 

But the bid could trigger others to follow suit, with Bolton, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham also reportedly keen.

At the game today I was told that the club have accepted bids from 3 Prem teams. They have been left to fight it out between them who wants him the most !!

Whoevers idea they were: Paul's, the club or the trust - I think its a great one. Ok, most of it we already know, but well done. It gives a personal touch. Maybe the club can set up an Official Paul Dickov facebook fan page too and send messages that way too as some people may not receive the emails.

Still think we're going to do alright next season as Dickov will have the team playing attractive football with passion, etc. but I think we've made life harder for ourseleves by getting rid of Abbott.
