  1. Remember being in Werneth station on my own after we played Tranmere on New Years day about 10 years ago. No-one else in the station except a couple of dozen or so Tranmere fans, some of who started shouting abuse and throwing beer cans at me, while the others - who were old enough to know better - stood watching and laughing. Sorry if it makes me a softarse but that was a bit intimidating.

That doesn't make you a softarse. That makes them softarses.

    Woof.

  2. Maybe I've just always found myself in different groups to some of you arriving at and leaving grounds. How do you feel intimidated if you're surrounded by hundreds if not thousands of your own supporters? I know we're not exactly Millwall but a standard Oldham following also isn't a Church of England tea party. Stay in a big group, walk tall and you'll be fine. Break away and look as though you're crapping your pants and you'll become a target.

    Rules of the playground.

    Woof.

  3. I'm not giving it the 'big un' here but can people elaborate on what they mean when they say they've felt intimidated at a ground. I've been following Oldham away since I was 11 (I'm now 30) and I've never once experienced a feeling of intimidation once. Literally not once. Either I'm hard as :censored: or some of you are soft as :censored:. I'm open to suggestion.

  4. Blackpool's demise is really sad to see as a local, as they graced the Premier League only 3 seasons ago and went down by one point. Lack of investment by the owners, the Oyston family, and frequent managerial changes have really killed any hope of a revival and are now hanging on to Championship status by a fingernail. Only two wins in last 26 and never scored more than one goal in a game since November tells the story. I think we can even beat them as they are now. And will struggle in League 1 without significant team rebuilding, and owners won't put down cash.

Blackpool's demise Is not sad to see in any way, shape or form. It's absolutely hilarious. I hate those tangerine ball-bags, I hope they go down and I hope we rip them apart home and away next season.

Obviously I hope we stay up first.

  5. So it's about who has the most bestial fans who can emerge victorious from a Neanderthal battle. Give over.

No it's not. But it's tribal, passionate and emotional. Some supporters in victory forget this and overstep the mark. PNE fans forgot this, their goading of Oldham fans during and towards the end of the game was massively provocative and they paid the price. My sympathyometer is reading zero.

  6. Knuckle draggers vs Knuckles dragger

Let them fight it off to the death; free up some oxygen for those that warrant it.

Bull:censored:. Those PNE fans were cocky as :censored: today. If they've been twatted (by which all accounts they have) then GOOD. Football isn't all about jovial back slaps and exchanging daisy chains. Get over it.

  7. 5. Going to Huddersfield in 2006/2007 (I think?) and battering them 0-3. We packed out the away end and were raucous throughout. A classic, classic away day.

    4. Gary McDonald, Everton 2008. No explanation needed.

    3. I'm terrible with years but when we beat Millwall on the opening day of I think the 2008/2009 season. I took a Tottenham supporting mate to the game and to this day he says it was the best match he's ever been to.

    2. Carlisle away when Chris Taylor scored his first goal for the club having just signed a five year deal. Why this moment? He ran to the crowd to celebrate and hugged me first. His first Latics goal was celebrated with me before anyone.

    1. The final whistle against Liverpool last season. One of the most famous and decorated club teams in the world walking off the Boundary Park pitch humbled.

    I :censored:ing love Oldham Athletic.
