  1. What utter tosh........... ........he linked up play when he got the service........he looked a threat when he got the ball to feet and has a deceptive turn of pace. That is his third game for us after warming the bench at Donny.........although he has not been spellbinding, he has done more than enough to justify inclusion in the side......I mean what other alternatives do we have? ........and after yesterday why the hell are we looking for faults........I'm personally over the moon with the result and would like to build on that and move forward..........lets have a period of feeling content before the next loss please
  2. Thanks Hallam...........now thats what a town our size should be looking at.....I'm becoming a corp fan.....I think he understands the negativity in Oldham....always being the parenial bridesmaid
  3. Toy town stands / grounds the lot of them...........if we are going to build a new stadium, it should be on the scale of Notts County.............not much to ask is it.............they built a fine stadium that caught the attention of a wealthy businessman now owner...............we should not be planning to fail, Notts county have half empty stadia for the last 2 seasons and now look, they look like they will be going places.....why...because they had an attractive asset to sell...........I mean Notts fecking County FFS.......the difference being there dared to dream and build a stadium with potential
  4. LMAO.........I've been thinking of that comment all day Very glad Latics have something to work towards instead of holding out for the ecomony to pick and refurbing BP...........however I have a hollow feeling regarding the size of the ground.....is there anybody else who thinks this is a total lack of ambition.......football is always changing and who knows we may be fighting in the championship in a couple of years with bumper gates and unable to reap the extra revenue a bigger stadium would give us........I think 12K is not enough, surely we should be looking at something in the region of 16 to 18K........I'd hate to have big games at the new ground that we have to turn people away from...................Latics will turn out when they see progress, better still we all remember survival Sunday when they turned away 3500 fans due to overcrowding.............I know it was free, but the fan base is there...we just have to tap into it......get a better commercial manager ;)
  5. as opposed to what we could of done with him........I'm passed defending him......DP will do what he feels he must to keep this club ticking along and I have no problem with that...he has my full support
  6. Based on the team DP picked for Bury where he mentioned he would be fielding a stronger side, I do believe you are correct regarding the pecking order....but the whole issue with Lee leaves me baffled.......nearly every supporter on here has suggested thet they have liked what they have seen from Lee when he gets a chance...........maybe he does have a :censored:ty attitude, who knows...one thing is for sure it can't be based on not taking his chance!!
  7. although you are possibly right............what do you base that comment on? You can't have seen much of Worthington, Furman, Purdie & Stephens to suggest they are looking better....on the contary Lee looked much better at Hyde & Halifax!! to be fair can anybody tell me when Lee has had a poor game when given a start? Yeah I could go for that, however why don't we release Whits.......I watched him all last season and think he is far too light weight for CM and is completly lost out wide
  8. A mate of mine phone me after the match and said as much..............his words were 'Lewis was fallin all other the show again' to be fair I'm not to bothered about the score, it is the fitness levels I want to see increase .......and it's great to see Lee getting more match time in during pre season........he may well get in the mix this season
  9. Does anyone know if Stephens is injured or out of favour? It would seem stupid being the latter especally with being in pre season and all.
  10. I didn't go tonight, however at Hyde he had several trialist involved (Spencer - GK, Haining - CB, Oguni-somebody or other - CB, Lewis Emanuel - LW & AN Other - FW). did any of them playing tonight?
  11. I disagree about Haining being a better passer.......Gregans range of passing was and always will be better than Hainings. Very impressed with Joe Jac, Furman, Rowney, Lee & COG Excited about Abbott & Black OK with Eardley, Taylor, Worthy, Emanuel, Lomax, Greegs, Rubes, Whittaker, Haining Disapointed with Lewis, Wolfy Upset with Smalley - capable of miles better than that trialist CB definitely worth another look anyway it was all about getting a run out tonight.......hmmmm
  12. This is a coup....if I remember rightly, this guy was wanted by a number of championship sides a couple of season's ago. I believe there was still alot of interest in him now...... ......have we broke the bank or has the gaffer got the gift. I'm begining to think he has the gift.....he is certainly putting a good young side together!! Nice one Mr Penny
  13. All I can find is he is considering Blackpool's offer........Have you got the source?
  14. ........Hmm DP may have had an offer for Taylor that he could not refuse........thus he has become active in the market trying to find a adequate replacement........anyway just pure speculation so don't give it a second thought
  15. Yeah, we must of ran black cat down or something Like most people on the forum, I am full of advice and wisdom........but sometimes there is no explanation for the slump in form
  16. Incidentally....did anyone see Neil eyeball the individuals after the final whistle.........after about 20 secs of them clapping, Neil gestured with a thumbs up and a chant of Neil Neil Eardley was heard...........that is how fickle of a society we live in!!! However as a conclusion.......it is worth noting in the heat of the moment alot of people say things that are probably not meant literally, but after you get over the line with a favouable result, normality resumes and rational thoughts are back on the agenda.
  17. I was sat virtually to the side of the gentlemen who gave Neil the hairdryer treatment and I have got to say it was totally out of character for him. Whats even more alarming is that these individuals are grown up season ticket holders not the usual little chav feckers. I agree with most in this thread 'that this does not help his confidence' and god knows I think Neil is finding his way back to form......but I can't help thinking Neil should not direct a feck off (3 times over a 5 min period) at the left hand side of Chaddy without recieving a tirade of abuse back. I certainly do not condone this but he just needs to keep his head down and finish the job. Did anyone see Greegs rant at Neil for allowing the winger past him for their goal................i am convince this is a catalyst for the the mindless few in the crowd. Message for Neil, keep your head up son and keep demanding the football..........only brave players want to play football from the back when the chips are down.
  18. Although he is probably wasted there, Phillips looked fine in the left back position in the second half against Hull...........and anybody can see Taylor's natural position is right wing, I would'nt have said he did alright against Derby when he palyed right wing for 20 mins or so, I would of said he played damn well and certaintly gave Shez something to think about.
  19. I was very happy when Lids signed on for an extra year but I didn't imagine him playing anything more than a bit part this season......I think Shez summed it up when he said his experience is invaluable......to be fair, I think he mean't around the place rather than in 46 league games this season. Gregan is a totally different matter.......it is his job to keep everybody on their toes and whether that means screaming at others or congratulating them....I don't really give a sh8te....as long as he dominates the opposition as usual, he has my vote to say in the side
  20. yes i will be getting one and no i don't feel silly about it!!
