  1. What a great atmosphere. A few beers in the bush befote the game, apart from my mate who unbeknown to him at this point, had had a run in with a dodgy ginsters on the way travelling down. Just before game started he spewed up over the non too impressed geezer in the row in front of us haha. A bit lively on the way out as well, we dejectedly made our way to our coach, just before another was bricked! I booked 3 days off work for that and lost my job the week after due to it - well worth it! Bar the result.

  2. Saw the 'white van' pulling up as I walked to the ground about 7.15. How many other Tuesday nights do they make that journey? Probably as many times as they drive down Waterloo Street at night or during the day on a Saturday.

    Easy Pickings!!

  3. So if tarky had of played in place of Byrne first half we wouldn't of got run ragged? The whole team played below par first half, then we upped it second half. But our defence for all their "frailties" limited them to 5 shots on target all game. We got 11 shots on target in on them with less possession

These 2 comments sum the game up for me personally, hence the praise overall of our back 2/5. If I thought anyone would have been constructively criticised after the first half, i'd have thought Furman and Croft would have been leading candidates - Woeful in and out of possession in the 1st half, Furball upped his game 2nd half, which upped the whole side as well.

Byrne is a decent addition - just looks sadly, like one of those players some fans don't take too - I think he's alreet.

  4. Good to see 2 defenders doing what they have trained all of their lives to do - Defend! Win headers, tackles and win your battles. They did that, despite a tough start to the game.

Bags of 'on the ball' quality in front of 'em - Bouzanis was a spectator 2nd half, as a defender, you'd be pleased with that

  5. i dont think so, remember a bit back you said you were a ball boy back in the day, think they had pulled it back to 2.1 ( Kevin Summerfield) and you took a bit of grief..

They needed to win to stay up, I think! We were 2-1 up with about 5 to play and in traditional 'sporting' fashion, I tried to keep the ball for as long as possible after the ball had run dead for a Plymouth goal kick - however Steve Cherry, the rotund, personalityless Keeper at the time, was less than impressed and after a few 'rants' at me to "throw him the ball", he made his way, in front of the Chaddy End, to retreive the ball off me!! At which point I rolled it past him, which provoked his right and left arm into a 70s dance move, pushing me in the chest . Some of the Chaddy End faithful gave him deserved merciless stick for the last 5 minutes, before a member of the local constabulary 'chatted' to me after the game, alas though the early/mid 80s never warranted million pound lawsuits

  6. Were you still a ball boy then?

If i was still one. I wasn't one at that game!! I was with my owd man, cousin and Uncle iirc - I think i'd either just finished or took a 'day off' - can't remember, though either way, it hurt, even being fairly youthful at the time.

Where you a 'ball boy' around that time then?
