  1. Edinburgh is a great place to drink over a weekend, or even a couple of nights in the lakes in the traditional pubs, in the busier villages. Get the cards and darts out and drink real ale 'till it's coming out your pores.

Alternativelt, if there's a good Adult/themed weekend at one of the Butlins, get y'self there - bargain and all you can do is drink!!!

  2. That's where your wrong mate. Fans ASSUMED that I was a city fan because I said I'm going Munich with y city supporting mate! Then all of a sudden I was classed as one and also those great fans went too far with what they said. I simply told them Oldham is a rip off and financially it's cheaper for me to go city! Simple!

A couple of quick points on the last bit of unwarranted attention that I give you (3 posts too much)

    1st - I'm not your mate (line 1)

2nd - I never mentioned CITY in my post (Also in line 1)

3rd - You said a wee bit more than "Oldham is a rip off and financially it's cheaper for me to go city!"

  3. Welcome back Lee!

It amazes me how odd some of our so called faithful fans can be.

One minute they are moaning that crowds are so low, and then we get a fan back who has tried something different and they still moan and try and make the fan feel unwanted. Guess what the fans who no longer come aren’t all sat at home listening to latics player they may well be tasting what’s on offer elsewhere.

I say credit to Lee for being open and honest about how he gave something else a go but couldn’t match that feeling you get at BP. The only thing Lee did differently to a lot of other people was be as honest as he was to admit to everyone he was off to watch some footy at COMS.

I live a few miles away from Fleetwood and guess what I quite fancy taking a trip to Highbury and who knows what that may lead to…. Does that make me a shocking fan????

From what I recall - slagging off 'friends/fellow fans/ex team and club and generally being an internet loudmouth(loudtype!?!?) after being around for 2 minutes - then coming back suggesting 'everybody get it off their chest', then when people start to, ask for the thread to be closed - would make you a shocking fan - yes!!

Open and honest!! - WOLOB - What a load of .......

He made himself unwanted with negative, unwanted comments to other fans about the club they love - THIS CLUB!!

Note to oneself: Don't bother wasting your time on this..........DOH! too late!

  4. It's the old "expectations" thing isn't it.

Once Preston were knocked out, reasonable expectations were that Wembley was but 3 hours away.

Had we drawn a Sheff Utd, reasonable hope would have been that we might, just might, have an outside chance.

And again, Latics failed to live up to this 'expectation'

  5. Fair enough, but Deano has given him a pretty much endless stream of cash, and if he feels short changed, he has the right to make a change.

    I totally agree

I just love reading/listening to fans of clubs with cash on the hip and their immediate given right to 'walk' it out of this league.....

  6. Really? I've been one of the few defending him to the group I go to matches with, but even I have lost patience recently. We may have lost very few games, but we're more concerned with not losing than going for a win.

I maybe wouldn't have fired the trigger just yet, but everyone I go to matches with is delighted. I would have probably waited until automatic promotion looked as remote points wise, as it does on the pitch, as Clark would be a liability in the Play Off's knowing he had to win them to save his job.

I thought Warnock would be unrealistic, but he's joint favourite, which suggests he's perhaps a realistic target. If so, I would be absolutely over the moon with him!

Sounds like you've all got expectations well above your stations to me

  7. It's not the first controversial incident slimey Evra has been involved in is it?

If Suarez doesn't want to shake hands with someone he doesn't respect - fine.

If he made a racis remark, ban him (oh wait that's happened??)

Ferdinand mirrored Suarez' apparant wrongs - will he be vilified the same way? - I doubt it!!

Get rid of the hand shake nonsense then players can shag each others wifes, mums, sisters and use racist, ageist, fattist, homophobic language with each other and just do like they used to - kick 'em during the game or win the 3 points and gloat endlessly

  8. Thanks for your input into footballing matters Mike,........though as a sidenote, may i be so bold as to ask a DIRECTOR - "What DIRECTION" off the field is the club going at the moment?

Is there an agreement that BP has to have football played on it until 2014...if so are we off in 2014???

Is there ANY investors remotely interested in a run down, 3 sided stadium, loss making football club.

Will we ever see BP with 4 stands, a clubhouse and executive boxes that are regularly filled?

    Are we moving from BP?

When are next lot of houses going up on our beloved football ground?

Sorry to come across so pertinent, but it seems that we can all talk about all matters of the football club, when there are more pressing issues to be dealt with.

    Thank you!!!

  9. I am not in favour of the present loan system, if a player is good you probably won't keep him for long, if he is no good you don't want him to stay anyway.

The best way to build a team is with permanent signings (2 year deals if possible),the manager then stands or falls by them.

Also forget agents offering unseen players, bring back old fashioned scouting.

I think that's a really valid point BP.

I would love to know the percentage of players signed by clubs based upon a 'recommendation', rather than from the traditional scouting method.

I would imagine it to be quite high.
