  1. As valid as it seems I think you're giving their general intelligence far too much respect
  2. Thanks, looks like a great forum, glad to be onboard
  3. Just go bare-chested, the lads down there would love a bit of that, mind they wouldn't catch much of the game (probably for the best)
  4. haha, to be fair they're that basic down there that they probably mistake our home kit for their own. Just wear a grim expression and get your head shaved and make a low pitched humming noise
  5. The nearest grounds to me growing up were the Racecourse, Gay Meadow, and Mollineux Didn't stop all my mates supporting Liverpool or Man U for some reason. Yuck
  6. Ive never lived in Oldham, and only moved to manchester recently, I've supported Oldham all my life though as my Dad was brought up here. I'd say the crowds have been so poor mainly because we've neither been here or there in recent seasons, never quite exciting enough, and never sustaining any great runs. We always have a poor start to the season (until now) and never have enough depth in the squad towards the end. Personally although I live in Manchester, it's a nightmare to get to and from boundary park, if they had a dedicated fans coach to manchester city centre id probably come up much more often on the weekend and during the week. The population of oldham is massive compared to most english towns so there's no reason why there shouldnt be bigger crowds. I say get a good run going, get a new stadium and a few absolute quality players and we're on the way to building it up again. ...oh yeah that's already happening
  7. Hi, I'm Kieran, 26, and I live in Manchester. Thought I'd register on here to waste some of my time whilst at work, and talk about how promising things are for the Latics in the next few years! Only moved up North recently, though I've been a life long Latics fan thaks to my Dad, and managed to watch quite few games in the premiership/league 2 win era. I mainly go to away games these days, but try to make it up to boundary park whenever I can, definately be trying to get up there a lot more this season. I think honestly we'll come second this year behind Leicester, with Leeds third, Peterborough fourth, Carlisle fifth, and MK Dons sixth. That'll do me anyway.
  8. ...but the owner must surely put them back on sale as they didnt meet their reserve.... Lee Hughes Signed Boots
  9. Ive been to see Ajax before and had no problems on the day, another avenue is to check the away team's website....
  10. It was the train sorry! As you say well covered, and it needed to be too. As well as going to the game with a work mate who's a millwall season ticket holder for a pint beforehand (he called me at half time laughing), I went with my Dad and his mate (both live in london and latics fans) and my brother who isnt, and by the end of it he said "I guess im an oldham fan now" and was chanting hughsey like the rest of us, he came to Goodison with me two weeks later and never looked back.... Sorry for swearing by the way
  11. I'm new here so thought I'd say hi. Can I just say how absolutely amazing Lee Hughes is, as a player and a man. I love the guy. The best feeling I ever had at a footy game was leaving the den on the tube last year, waiting to get off, and shouting HUGHSEY at the top of my voice as soon as I got off! We're very lucky to have him on board, let's hope he stays injury free this year and gets us promoted. I think he's going to excel in the big games, like Leicester next month!
