  1. Aside from the lack of any experience in coaching (with exception of the under 9s for a lowly 4th tier club), and these political views, I am more concerned at how absolutely amateur his CV reads on Linkedin and the utter garbage pop psychology motivational photos he posts on Twitter. He comes across as a very remedial chap.

Pity, I thought with the new stand that we might be getting a decent manager, and might be looking to end our 18 year stint in a division below the one we really should be in; alas no. And with this I shall not be looking to come back any time soon.

There are plenty of supporters like me waiting for something to happen to bring us back.

  2. Agree with the poster above. The law is not infallible. Juries are made of of individuals who are subjective and impressionable, and outcomes are highly dependent on the influence of the strongest characters (and their pre-conceived ideas) within (oh and also dependent on being told [after not coming to a decision] that "you have an hour to make a decision or you have to come back next week").

No defence to the act of rape, but regardless of his guilt, this man has served his sentence and wants to work. The sentence he received is strangely lenient for the crime, which raises massive concerns over the decision for me, in addition to the other "evidence" that was made available. The "evidence" was entirely based on subjective accounts. People are subjective, decisions are subjective.

Would you know if your bus driver or person who serves you your pint had been convicted of a similar crime? But would you accept a ride or a pint off them if they had (would you know)? (rhetorical questions). Why should he be any different. This man happens to work for a living in an industry where such a history does get general recognition, however due to the intense focus on him it is very unlikely that he will be in the position to commit a crime that he was convicted of again, whether genuinely guilty the first time or not.

As someone who works with offenders, maybe I can put myself in the position of those who have committed crimes (or those who maintain their innocence) more readily. Wanting to move on and contribute is an admirable trait. People only have one shot at life (unless you believe in that weird religious stuff), and should be given an opportunity to contribute to society regardless of past mistakes during their one chance in my opinion. If not, what do you expect they should do for the rest of their lives? What use is that to anyone? (rhetorical question again)

  3. I have been to dozens of excellent premiership matches since I last went to BP, before I moved away from Manchester a few years ago, especially United when they still had Ronaldo, I remember the game against Portsmouth clearly, all the others blur into one. The games at city were always terrible as there is no atmosphere in the stadium, and the fans are rubbish, the football was pretty average too.

Then I got free tickets for City, and cheap tickets for captain's lounge at Old Trafford which includes a three course meal and a drink waiting for you at half-time...

It used to cost me a lot more to go to BP where I couldn't actually fit in the seats, or get a drink at half-time

Last prem game I went to was Chelsea Vs Bolton a few seasons back at Stamford Bridge, great game, great atmosphere and great fans.

  4. It's called a topic starter. Mentioning how one of our former players has started. How he is worth more than we received for him.

Next time should I start a topic about Scholes not playing for us? or his thoughts on the coming season? or one about John Eyre? or where Roger Palmer is?

I believe my first post is a lot more relevant to Oldham here and now than a lot of the threads on here yet youve chose to reply negatively to mine.

    NICE

    NICE

Whats wrong with starting a thread about where Roger Palmer is when Im trying to cheer up a sick friend?!

    "NICE"

I wont be coming back on this board again that's for sure if you are a representation of what calibre of fan frequents it.

  5. I know Roger Palmer went missing for a while but came back to BP a last year, some people say he's on the isle of man, and others in Bacup, others in Sale.

I ask because I know it sounds cheesy but I have a friend who's not doing too well, it would be amazing to get him a signed shirt, long shot I know!

  6. Road to Wembley 20009/2010 Blog - Please Read

My mate has been to some pretty random games this season in pursuit of going to one match in each round of this year's FA cup, starting at the very beginning. The blog is a really good read I hope you'll find...

He can't get his hands on a final ticket after all his hard work and isn't a millionaire, so on the off chance that anyone here can think of a solution, or way for him to get a ticket please let me know.

Hopefully you'll enjoy the read anyway!

    :)

  7. (standard issue disclaimer in these threads haha) = I'd never ever vote BNP, not least as my mum is foreign living in uk, and im living in a foreign country.

However we live in a free country, and people can vote how they want. I dont hate them for it, it's their choice and sometimes these these things need to happen to bring to the forefront the opinion of our poulation at large be that what we conceive to be morally, socially or politically correct, or not. It's how the major parties, media, and population at large deal with it that's crucial. If the UK (and major political forces) weren't in such a disgraceful mess in the first place perhaps people wouldn't be looking for (in many people's opinions) such extreme votes whether right or left.

The best comment on here is about the free loaders, if there was a "anti-free loaders party", that's what I would vote for over any party.
