Brilliant choice. The buzz i'm feeling at the moment is fantastic. I know people who want to go on sat who haven't been since we were last in the premiership!

About as much chance of him coming back as joe royle!

handbag-gate

There's no chance joe royle would come back. There's nothing in it for him at all. Agree that if we don't go up shez is gone in summer. I'm not someone who usually calls for a manager's head but the most frustrating part of this season is that we've seen how well we can play. Some days the team don't seem to be properly motivated. There's only one person responsible for motivating the team and he doesn't seem to be capable of doing it consistently.
-
All this Dean Windass stuff has made me think.. or remember;
Why doesn't he think about what he's saying before he can even start accusing Shez?
He seems to think he's a 21 year old, lightning bolt. He's a 39 year old goal hanger.
If all this fires him up to bang in a few then i don't care about what he said. Or even for him to run a bit would be nice!

If its dead can it not be draped over the old terrace on the RRE side of the main stand... Add a bit of colour to the stand
Thats an excellent idea actually... Lets make it happen!

The Ref did fine, even at a point when a few heavy challenges were going in, he kept a level head. I've been watching the game with a few Leeds fans and I even think that Becchio was unlucky to be booked for the clash with Gregan.
He let them get away with persistent cynical fouling of taylor in the first half though.
-
Mind you, most of the gone-wrongs from the RRE were in the main stand lower and slapped a couple on their way out.
One bloke in the main stand upper hurdled 2 rows of seats to kung fu kick one of them while they were being 'escorted' out. He was very lucky not to get thrown out himself.
-
upper or lower? or were there leeds fans in both??
There were definitely some removed from upper, couldn't see lower from where i was.
-
Don't know why they did that when there was nearly a whole section of the small rre with spaces in it. Must be Leeds thinking there "untouchable" when they're just scummy people who are complete
Presumably they didn't want to pay all that money to bates for the privilege of buying away tickets, which i can kind of empathise with. Still their own fault though. The ones ejected from the main stand upper might have a few bruises tomorrow after what i saw.

Defo losing
leeds losing 2 nil now!

I have an imac so cant view it at all except the freebies
i'm planning on making the move from pc to macbook. Does that mean i won't be able to get into latics world? Only really use it for listening to commentary.

Car fullish from Ashton too, none have tickets!
Prob going A57 way as not to hit rush hour traffic on the 62!
I am avin newcy brown with cheese n onion chrisps for tea on the way, does that help? lol
Thinking about going... What's the consensus on the best route, the M62? Thats what the routefinder suggests. Also says it should take an hour and a half. Is that about right? Not been to scunny before.

Just to let them that are going to think about drinking in the ground. They serve drink, but it is utterly awful. Do not even consider it.
Cant be any worse than the flat, warm lager that they serve at half time in the Frizzell bar. I'm sure they must pour the pre-ordered drinks for half time at kick off.

The other og was by Gary Poole mate, the game they wore our kit was the season after, a night mact and we drew 2 a piece on our way down this crap hole of a division.
As for the Andy Barlow og, I was stood in the Kop that day with ScouseLatic. I was gloating at the fact Brucey had dropped a goolie in order to let The bear put us in front late on from a corner (yes a corner, I kids ye not!) In a final desperate throw of the dice going into injury time Souness but that big bruiser Ruddock up front, he flicks one on for Fowler to bag his first ever league goal then causes enough uncertainty straight from kick off to ensure Barlow slices into his own goal. Devastated and surrounded by 20,000 Scousers, then had one gloating all the way home. Not my fondest memory!
Francis definitely scored 2 ogs that day. I'll never forget him being substituted to a standing ovation from the latics fans.

It's strange though. I sat back and just relised today. When we don't sing, we don't score!
The words cause, effect and misunderstanding of spring to mind.

you answered your own question we arent the self proclaimed biggest team in the world or the richest niether are we "likkle wigan " so we dont merit coverage
Hello via iPhone. Enormous rucus in the cheadle end after we scored. Delayed match by at least 5 mind. We've been ok. Let them have the ball a bit too much for my liking. And the beer in the shop is only for the rugby the bastar

sounds good mark. you still still starting drinking at noon lol ?

Leave the station on the other side (west) from the main entrance with ticket office, taxi rank, cinema and bowling centre (Grand Central). That will bring you to Edgeley Park within 5 minutes.
I've got a covered ticket but just looked at it and I'm on the front row so will get wet anyway! Balls.

As long as Safri Duo - Played Alive aka The Bongo Song and The Piranhas- Tom Hark are banned. I'm not arsed what they play.
Mouldy old dough and fanfare for the common man were both miles ahead of the rest for pre-match music. Any chance they could both be played before the matches to keep everyone happy?

The £100k fee seems extremely low, but I am sure there is some sort of Fifa or EU rule that players over the age of 24 can buy out their contract in order to move. The rule has been quoted in the context of Frank Lampard moving abroad etc, and as we've seen with the likes of Chris Porter, Scotland is abroad. Don't know the facts behind the rule but ....
Wage wise, I think £100k a year sounds about right for a top League One striker for a club with 5,000-6,000 gates.
One year left on his contract - buy it out for £100k.
So the fee quoted comes from the "no smoke without fire" camp.
If Hughes wants to stay or go I really don't know. Whether he is trying to negotiate a contract extension / pay rise with Latics, I don't know.
What I do know is that a fit Lee Hughes is a class above this league, and his injuries may well have been the difference between 8th place and 6th place last season. So from my point of view, I'd like him to stay and I think most on this board would too.
Lee, Boundary Park's the place for you next season. You'll stay fit, score bagloads of goals and be the local hero you need to be.
Players over 28 can only buy out their contract after 2 years so it would be up to us to decide what fee to accept (if we wanted to which i very much hope we wouldn't), given that we were happy to let him leave on a free at the end of the season.
