  1. I agree and Morias is on record as saying he choose Latics because of PD. However the noises coming out of Latics must surely be hitting home with all concerned not just the fans. We are in the play off mix running into the last half of the season and then this bombshell................ We the fans have been here before, negative statement after another and steadilly getting worse. Now it's sorry boys and girls, no football at BP next season, we haven't a clue what to tell you other than that, apart from we are gonna sell the ground, and that's ours!! Even PD as optimistic and full of belief must be wondering.

I'd hazard a guess that we're not getting tied into contracts that will leave us vulnerable if the :censored: hits the fan at the end of this season.

I understand that all the new contracts have options depending on which tier of the Football League we're in next season. i guess this really tells us all we need to know.

It's a term that's been used a lot recently but it is quite cleary a case of :censored: or bust!!

  2. :censored: calm down everyone

Let's hear what Simon Corney's got to say next week and take it from there!

Far too much conjecture, speculation and bull:censored: being posted on here. Those that claim to be in the know, should just keep their powder dry and let the people who are actually working on securing whatever future we have, get on with it.

There's jack :censored: either you, me or our bloody trust can do on this one at the moment, it's way out of our league. The only way we can help is to back off and let the powers that be give it their best shot.

There's still a possibility that the council may be able to assist with some sort of short term safety net, failing that then the only other viable option at the minute would seem to be the Regional Athletics Stadium. There ain't a Football ground that's a viable option for one reason or another, so unless some friggin delerious billionaire rolls up, I'm afraid the best thing we can do at the moment is shut the :censored: up and leave it to those that are empowered to act, act!!!!

Btw, is there a game on tomorrow

  3. how many times have you seen a Council have a CCJ against it?

how many times have you seen a Council liquidated?

A Council is a Local Government department, so you're basically saying the Goverment could be made bankrupt. As said earlier, it has reserves and the ability to borrow against its asset. Jeez. Ed and Batty Owen, the new Chucklebrothers.

    Oh when the blues!

As yer man said, plus they're kind of 'underwritten' if you like by the government, in turn the only way you'll be able to really bankrupt the 'council' is to bankrupt the country.

    Enlightened???

  4. it also says further down the article that it is a prediction from corney. hes not said dfinate. and it also says he is looking at all other available options. think its made pretty clear myself. probably emotions talking over his head but basically saying he is looking for a ground share with someone. if it costs so much to run BP nad for the upkeep of BP how long do you think they can keep funding it without any concrete plans for a move or renovation or anything positive

I hear what you're saying but it isn't clear!

If Simon as the leader of the club makes a statement 'predicting' what's going to happen, then I'm damned sure that's what's going to happen!!

Unless of course it was knee jerk reaction to the events and if so, it needs explaining as such and then we can all calm down a little.

  5. LEAGUE football will not take place at Boundary Park next season as the full implications of the collapse of the plans for a new stadium are realised.

I know Simon is very emotional at the moment and rightly so, we all are!!

You can't come out with a comment like that without adding some meat to the bones!!

Why will there be no football at BP, is it because there'll be no money to continue, the ground's been sold, some clause in the deal with Blitz and Gazal??

Get yer arse in gear Simon, tell it as it is and let's see what we can do about it as a collective!

It's our team and we'll live and die together!!

As my mum used to say, 'you can't hide from it forever, get out there right away, face it up and sort it out'

I'll see you at the ground then

  6. Nice sentiments and very poignant, alas the people who need to read this and react won't.

The vast majority of posters on this board do attend matches and are the lifeblood of this club, the town has changed for many reasons over the last 20 odd years.

You only have to look around the markets, shopping centres and streets to see that we're now a multi cultural town and alas the Asian population have no interest in our football and rugby roots. It doesn't take a genius to work out that if one race of people's numbers increase then another race's numbers will decrease, this sadly is the case in Oldham.

Add to that the economy, no investment in the town, long established businesses, mills etc, closed up and gone and the piss poor offering of a team we've had for the last few years, therein lies your answer.

It's a sorry state of affairs but sadly it's the reality, unless some serious head the ball with a bank balance of multi millions takes us on board then the writing's on the wall.

Sadly, that's the measure of what we're facing!!

  7. On top form who would you rather have as right back?

    Lee

    Eardley

    Lomax

Am interested to see how people feel now one time favourite is making a name for himself in the game and the other is at the lashers

There was an Irish lad that we got from Leeds that wasn't too bad at right back

Think some knob turned him into a left back somewhere

  8. You can paint it out any way you wish but we were 2-0 up and cruising and have been pegged back again. Walsall is a bit more forgivable because it sounds like we were the worse team for most of the part and we only had a 1 goal advantage but today we really ought to have won.

I'll paint it how it is, 2-2, disappointing draw as opposed to Walasll 1-1, undeserved draw!!

That's life as Esther Ratzan used to say
