He had an injury record that would make Michael Owen blush.

I support both teams which to me makes perfect sense because I like football and rugby league and was born in Oldham.
It was a sad day for the town when Watersheddings got knocked down, I know it was a dump but it had character and I have some great memories of the place.

god awful kit. Whats with the black behind the sponser???
Looks like a pub team kit and the collars on both are gash -= i dunno what i was expecting but its really annoyed me that kit im sick of us having crap kits. Yellow away, the last carlotti home, the new away all awful
o well weere going up so i shouldnt really moan
Agree 100% it just looks really cheap, I know it probably benifits the club to have Carbrini making the shirts but I long for a Nike or Adidas kit, even better a re-issue of the Spall kit from the late 80's the greatest Latics shirt ever.

so we could end up with the same design home and away kit then... just with different colours!
Spot on because thats what we have got, awful effort.

We beat Man. City 3-2 goals from Ryan Brooke, Dean Smalley and JP Kalala, 3-0 up at half-time and City got 2 goals in the last 10 minutes or so.
How did Kieron Lee play

The one thing I give United credit for is at Roy Keane's testimonal when Celtic actually thought they were being serious with all the anti-English crap. They started singing some of their pro-IRA songs in the home end and after the match they got hammered. Rangers had the headline on their next fanzine issue of 'The Love Affair Is Over!' with a picture of Celtic getting a deserved kicking!
Its a good thing Rangers came over and gave Manchester - Glasgow relations a boost!!!!!!

New sponser will be JD Sports and Carbrini will replace Carlotti after this season on a 3 year deal as they are JD's own make. Can't believe we will have another chav make.

The man is a legend, what a bowling display if only he had someone at the other end who could benefit from the pressure he creates. After bowling Kallis to go to Aleem Dar and say that was pretty close was absolute genius. Now if the lapsed Lancastrian Vaughan can sort himself out we may have a chance.

Demar Phillips is :censored: hot
-
What I liked most about it was the size and vocal nature of our support clearly upset all the Utd and City fans, they definitely were not a happy bunch.

1.4m for someone who has been injured for 4 months and faces 3 months before he's fit!!!
And he's not that good.

I can't believe they have paid that for him, I thought he was at best at decent League one player, it reaks of desperation on Forest's part

Could it be Crystal Palace and some reference to us staying up and them going down in the great escape season?

Latics line up Jamaican
LOCAL SPORT
ATHLETIC are lining up Jamaican international Demar Phillips for a long-term loan deal.
The left-sided player has arrived at Boundary Park on two weeks’ trial with a view to joining for the whole of next season.
Phillips (24) is available from Premier League club Stoke City, for whom he signed last year after leaving Waterhouse in Jamaica.
He cost the Potters a “significant” fee but is expected to figure in Athletic’s friendly games away to Grimsby and at home to Derby.
Athletic boss John Sheridan said: “He has played about 30 times for Jamaica and also in the first team at Stoke, so we’ll have a good look at him.
“He’s quick and I’ve been looking for left-sided players, so hopefully he will do well.”

I think Smalley is class and will get better, I would want at least £500k.

im very impressed. o'grady, whittaker and stephens were wanted by thier clubs, lee and fleming were wanted elsewhere but i cant comment on williams. theyre all also young and should add value on the pitch in future. also we havent yet lost anyone and even if we do we could probably cover the most likely departure in eardley although i really dont want him to leave. all in all i cant see how anyone can really have any complaints, weve got the cliched mix of youth and experience all over the pitch and players aged in their early 20's who were already at the club who are battle hardened like eardley, taylor and davies. even reserve players like smalley and lomax who know what to expect. im also expecting massive things from allessandra this season and i dont believe the pressure matters to him hes got what cant be taught. basicly, i think we should win the league by at least 70 points and score 600 gols in the league alone!!!!!!!!
I have to say I have been pleasently surprised at the signings, I think Sheridan was quoted at the back end of last season as saying he would be bringing in quality this year and I took that as we would be signing players in the mould of Greagan/Liddell, eg around mid 30's who have played at a higher level. The signings so far are all fairly young with plenty of potential who we can develop into better players which I think is definitely the way to go. I admire Shez for doing it as these players may not be the finished article who will need time to establish themselves but he has looked at the long term despite him going into what could be his make or break season in the eyes of many.

Did anyone put their name forward for this? I did but have not heard anything which makes me think I am not one of the lucky 6.

On that bowling performance Marshall will be lucky to be kept on to sweep the dressing room, never mind the tail of an innings.
How Lancs lost that game after having Middlesex at 21-4 is unbelievable, they should never have got anywhere near the 176 they achieved.
Marshall was thrown in at the deep end and he drowned badly his return of 4-0-53-0 without doubt cost Lancs the game, not many sides will have any single bowler return figures like that and win a 20/20 game.
As well as Malan batted some of the buffet bowling he was being served up was ridiculous and Lancs Captain Stuart Law must also shoulder his share of the responsibility for continuing to bowl Marshall even though every ball was going for either 6 or 4 and Malan had shown an undoubted liking for his bowling in his earlier overs.
Anyway thats that for another year.
Terrible captaincy we had them on the rack with the seamers, he should have continued with them maybe even brought in Hogg but as soon as they got on top of the spinners the game changed. But in true Latics fan style I will blame the management, Watkinson out.

Any idea what the weather is like down there?

Such sad news, rest in peace mate you will always be a latics legend.

If Mark Hughes stiffs United it would be class, oh the sweet irony.
All those dirty reds at work who keep reminding me of the semi final in 94 will be getting it back big time, although unfortunately in my heart of hearts I think Berbatov will want to sign for United.
