  1. Town fan here. I'm a season ticket holder but to he honest, I have hardly seen Simpson play and I really don't have an opinion about whether he is any good or not. The first season he was with us, he had a thigh injury and he was just never fit. He only played a handful of games and not because he wasn't picked, but because he was never available. Clark lost patience I think and he was loaned out to Brentford for the season last year and he missed a fair bit of last season injured as well. I think the overwhelming view of most Town fans is not that he is a bad player, but that he is a sick note. Good luck to him, I hope he does well for you and remains fit. We were never going to agree to him playing against us tomorrow.
  2. Ha ha, that's as I expected. We still have a mathematical chance if Weeds lose, Milwall and Swindon draw and we win by 4 goals or more; you never know. However, if you could manage a draw next Saturday, even if Weeds go up, it would give us a chance of playing the home leg second. So personally, I am rooting for you to win your last game of the season even if you want to lose, because well, I just love you really. (and I tell fibs as well.)
  3. We are relying on you to do your favourite neighbours over the border another favour next Saturday, like the one you did for us at Southampton. How many of our former reserves are in your team at the moment? What are the chances?
  4. Thank you, thank you, thank you Oldham. I love you, tonight, I love you.
  5. Did warn you about Keigan Parker when you foolishly took him off our hands, thanks for that by the way. It's hard to believe that he scored all those goals for Blackpool. Best of luck for the rest of the season, apart from Tuesday of course, I hope you stay up.
  6. "GOAL - The offence took place to the right of Oldham's goal and Robbie Williams brilliantly took advantage of a poorly set-up wall to give the Terriers the lead. The left-back stepped up and slammed a curling 25-yard free-kick around the wall and into 'keeper Brill's near post before running the entire length of the pitch to celebrate his first of the season with the jubilant Town supporters." Taken from report on Town website, good freekick, poor wall. Thought Pav did ok today, although he needs someone to play alongside him. It was never going to be a classic in such poor conditions, very happy with the 3 points though. You looked well organised at the back, but where are the goals going to come from?
  7. I think carthorse is about the last way I would describe Novak, he's like a drink of water dressed up. Not sure if old man Greegs will be able to catch him to hammer him anyway. Novak has, not surprisingly, taken a little while to settle in, but he is a firm favourite with the fans because he works so hard and never stops running. He's not the finished article yet, but he's getting there. Skarz has been "rested" in favour of Williams, who has looked pretty good in the last couple of games. Completely disagree about being lightweight on the wings, Pilks is a class act, a fantastic player and he doesn't need much room put in pin point crosses. Roberts had a quiet start to the season, but looks to have found a bit of confidence and seems to be coming back into form. I agree re: the middle of the park, you might edge it there. Michael Collins is an attacking midfielder and doesn't always pull his weight defensively. I will be happy when Tom Clarke is fully fit, because I reckon that Kay and Clarke together is a better midfield combination. I think we definitely have the better strikers though, on his day Pav is fantastic, but he is moody and goes off the boil for long periods, at least he did when he played for us. He will probably be fantastic on Sunday though. Jordan Rhodes is a sniffer and Novak is very hard working and very unselfish, that is why they play well together, but we also have Theo on the bench to come on and hopefully cause havoc with his pace. I'm not worried about Keigan Parker because he's not much of a striker in my view, he'll probably score about 6 absolutely beautiful goals this season and that will be it. He's not a winger and he's not a striker, not sure what he is really. He did nothing for us last season, absolutely nothing. He'll probably score one of those 6 beautiful goals on Sunday now I've said all of that. Hope Holdsworth plays, if he does what position will it be? We haven't missed Holdsworth at all, because Peltier is a far better right back. I still wish him all the best though and hope he plays in midfield because it will even things up a bit in there if he does. Not sure your tight little pitch will suit us, but you seem to be short of goals and so hopefully we will get one or two and you won't
  8. 5 goals not including friendlies. Ripped Southampton to shreads today, but for their keeper could easily have been 5 or 6. Keep pinching myself. Nice to see Pav scoring a couple.
  9. SSH, we definitely did make Andy H 3 seperate contract offers, this didn't reject the last offer, he never replied to it. Clark thought he was messing about and so withdrew the offer. At the time, there was a rumour that L666d's were sniffing around and Andy is apparently a L666d's fan (his parents fault). This is just speculation, but I think he may have been hanging around waiting to see it L666d's would come in for him, before deciding whether or not to accept the third contract offer. A poster on DATM, who knows Andy personally, says that he has parted company with his agent over this, because he was given bad advice. Anyway, L666d's signed Crowe from Northampton and Andy found himself scratching around for a deal. For the record, I think he is a good signing for Oldham, although I have always thought that his best position is either as a wing back or sitting in the hole just behind two front players. I was sorry to see him go, but think we have a very good replacement in Peltier, who is probably more of a natural right back. Worthy is great at breaking up play in midfield, always gives 100%, will get booked at least 10 times a season and probably more because of his committed tackling and can't pass for toffy. From what we saw last season Kiegan Parker just isn't a striker. He will score a handful of beautiful goals but no tap ins whatsoever. Not knocking the guy, but I would be absolutely amazed if he scored more than 6 goals next season. Pav is a good striker, but can be dark and moody. When he was happy, he scored loads of goals, when we was unhappy, he didn't look like he was ever going to score again. A legend at Huddersfield but seems unable to leave his problems off the pitch. Allegedly had a couple of major training bust ups with teammates involving serious fisty cuffs; backed up by a few black eyes being seen later. Good luck apart from when you play us.
