  1. January 14 2014 our reserves play man city in the Manchester senior cup .

would there be any chance we could try to raise a good crowd to get behind whatever assortment of kids /fringe players we put out against the multi millionaire development squad citeh send .

if every season ticket holder turned out we would have 2,000 plus straight away and if I am right it would not cost em a penny.

back that up with an appeal for some die hards to turn out have a few beers and give the youngsters some vocal support and have agood old freezing night out at BP .

I heard spurs fans did this last year and got around 3,000 to back their kids in similar circumstances .just mindless don't care what the score is backing for our boys who normally play in front of mum , dad and the dog .

maybe cost £20 for the night including carparking a pint and a pie .

im just throwing down a gauntlet .

I say this tongue in cheek so please dont get too uptight but isnt there a chance that one or two of their "fringe players" could be in our first team?

  2. Apparently according to the MEN on twitter hes been on the phone to LJ moaning about us cancelling Saturdays game. Hahaha diddums my heart bleeds. Hate that man :)

Personally I am pleased that the game has been rearranged as I was having to miss this game due to work and if I am not working on the rearranged date Playershare should benefit slightly

  3. Had a total knee replacement last January the Monday before the Liverpool game, Much as I tried to convince others there was no way I was allowed to go to that game.

I did however get to the Everton replay at Goodison. Must admit that the stewards found me a fantastic seat pitchside and for a while considered using crutches for other future games

Bloody hell it was a long painful walk from where the coach was parked to the ground but managed to get back to "the local" for a few pints afterwards

  4. I am eligible and use a disabled persons pass which allows me and a "carer" to enjoy decent discounts by virtue of the fact that I am a registered hearing aid user.

Although off topic as an example my wife and I are travelling to Harwich via Euston and return to Mills Hill for a total cost total cost of £78

I believe that this could save other fans travel costs to away games by using this card

  5. Frizzell and Big Joe are the reason I'm a latics fan. It was Frizzell's side that got my dad hooked, & Big Joe got me hooked.

My first game was the scarborough game. Still my biggest win...

In 18 months of watching my team, Id been to a cup final, an FA Cup semi (I wasnt allowed at the replay) & seen my team win the league on in the last minute. Your footballing life shouldn't peak at 7 years old should it?!

You must have been our lucky charm but sadly it did not last.

Having said that my daughter started going around the same period and was

lucky enough to get to those games and Ipswich too

My son who now follows the Latics was born on the 19th December 1987 (City 1 - Latics 2 @ Maine Rd.) has not had too many things to cheer.

    Hopefully things will soon change

Back on topic JR and JF are top of my list and in an ideal world soon to be joined by LJ

  6. FTFY

This is Diego a man known for correcting the geographical location of posts to the pre-1971 version, including memorably a post in memory of those two coppers murdered by Dale Cregan in Tameside.

Live by the sword, die by the sword, and all that. I'd fancy Diego to put the extra £10 in as he is that sort of bloke, whether he changes his prediction is another matter. Of course of he doesn't put the extra £10 I'm not going to know so won't really care beyond making my point.
