I had £20 on us to go down at 16/1 a while back.  My thinking being if we're relegated then I'll have been a right grumpy twat every Saturday for 9 months so the missus would deserve a holiday!

Holiday with the misses as punishment after a dreadful season of football..that’s more than a a lose lose! I guess a divorce would be more expensive mind so damage limitation!

Good update from the Trust - thank you.

Just a pity about the glaring ambiguity regarding the "100% better" budget. Reads to me like it's layman's terms for "much better" rather than an actual doubling of the budget. Clarification (in due course) would be welcome.

Was reading it this was also...he would have said double the budget otherwise

plus how the hell is Barry Owen on the board slating the past ownership leaving us millions in debt?? Didn’t he used to be so far up Corneys arse and never suggested otherwise during his time as head of trust and on the board previously??? How can he be trusted when he didn’t have a clue the last ownership left us saddled with financial burden!

  3. I kind of understand the reason for posting , there is a naive commercial angle which may lose the club short term revenue if we have a chance of playoffs on the final day...however he also is massively lacking Season Ticket holders so he may have seen this as a way of encouraging sign ups...however there is also then a commercial angle that a savvy season ticket holder may hold off signing up because next year we may have a few £5 pay on the days which devalues the reasons to buy a season ticket in the first place 😂😂😂

  4. Was my first game in ages in the Rocky and I can say I will be back again soon even at £24!...the football played at times is as good and exciting as I have seen since Dowie days. Better than LJ days that’s for sure.

I heard a couple of people around me too with people they had convinced to come back and watch us again. It’s really promising to see, the fans are there we just want entertainment!

I was impressed by Gevaro today he was technically better than I expected and has great feet and gives us a good option out wide.

I love how technically gifted all our team are...even Fane now seems to know his limits (except for his crazy run into the box today that fooled everyone!)

i thought dales Centre Half (6) and Lillis were very good today which says it all after a 3-1 win.

One of the best things today was Wellens not being scared to bring our (usually) star man Byrne off because his head had dropped early in the 2nd half...sign of a class manager that and it proved the right decision, hopefully Byrne now sees that and doesn’t get ahead of himself!

Nobody doubts for one second the impact and influence Byrne has had on the games he has played in.

It was just that the “I bet I’m not exaggerating... “ followed by the “90%”  statement that got my and others’ attention...?

    - and I can’t help thinking that if he is indeed ‘worth his weight in gold’, it’s a good job he’s only a lean 5’9”” tall or we’d never be able to afford him come January...?

A bit pedantic, you know the point I was making...ok change my ‘90%’ for ‘most’! We couldn’t afford him if he was worth his weight in Potatoes!

    I bet you are.

Byrne has 3 assists to his name in the league.

Davies is on 2 assists but has also chipped in with 7 goals  and Doyle is our leading provider with 4 assists and 9 goals which would suggest that both are as important as the man you credited with being the biggest influence.

The reason we have had so many 0 scorelines over recent years is because we haven’t had someone of his capability in our team. ‘Rubbish in the final third’ or ‘struggling to break teams down’ has been typical of so many of our teams for years. You can’t measure what Jack does In terms of goals or assists, he is the one who creates the space and provides the forward momentum that leads to attacks. Something only high quality players can do and are worth their weight in gold.

People who have played the game to a decent standard will know how difficult it is to be that player that changes the tempo of a game or changes the mindset/momentum of a team from defending to attacking. He builds confidence in pressing forward which picks the whole team and crowd up.

Not sure that Byrne is constantly having to do everything on his own? ?

Gardner and Fane have pitched in too...?

I bet I’m not exaggerating when I say 90% of our created chances/goals come from a key influence from Byrne. Watch highlights of goals from since he came in, he is involved in a vast majority of them.
