Did Shez work with him at Chesterfield? 

Just checked looks like Roberts joined Chesterfield as Sheridan left to go to Plymouth. 

The waste of budget sat with Banks and Flynn is the real sticking point. Sheridan re-signed Green too which he may regret a bit. Fane won't be on big money so will be good value for a spot, Gardner I imagine is on similar to Banks. 

We probably should have done more to offload Banks and Flynn but Sheridan probably wanted to give them a fair crack...

in all seriousness there are a lot of 'floating fans' that keep in touch, read and post on here, listen on Iplayer etc that know how big a factor Ripley was in keeping us up lat year. I just feel with the best close season and preseason we have had in years it could have been the final thing to shout about and create a final wave of optimism. 

There's a reason why a good run of performances bring fans back in their hundreds it's because they are just sitting there waiting to be convinced that turning up on Saturday will be worth their time and money. 

Whilst I admit Ripley isn't the same as a 10 game winning streak, but fans know that replicating the form since Sheridan came here over a season could put us near the play offs and Ripley would be a big factor towards achieving that. 

But let's be honest it's not even gonna happen is it...

I disagree. Not just the GK though is it they could have created a lot more hype for the first game of the season that people would have got wrapped up in. Ripley would have just been the trigger of all that optimism. We have just rolled over into the first game of the season we could have made a song and dance about it.

If we do sign Ripley I wouldn't be surprised if we did what we did when Baxter signed his extension and announce it just before kick off in the stadium.

Missed a marketing trick if they do...would have been a chance to drum up some pre match excitement and get a few fans on the fence in attendance. If he does sign it must have been touch and go right to the end.

It will be that letheran fella I reckon on a pay as you play contract until we get a loan sorted with a number 1.

I think for clubs to have gone with this there must be some foolproof restrictions in place otherwise income from live coverage will be eroded away by an obvious drop in both home and away attendance. 

VPN services can give the impression you are out of the UK when accessing online. 

He's the type of player that gets you off your seat, granted oftesn amounting to nothing, but a player like that can lift a crowd which can in turn change the momentum of a game. Often a luxury but I see a place in the squad for him as an impact sub when we are Against the run of play. 

Did Duffus get any/much time? 

The goals have dried up since he started with his choice strike partnership of Davies and Holloway! 

Swap Banks for Gardner after his ban and possibly Davies for Duffus and that's probably our strongest line up 3-5-2
