4 points from the last 48 available (including the last 3 games of last season).  4 points from 12 games.  No club would sit with that.

Nobody can say this is a knee jerk decision.  Clearly it is a mutual decision too.  The interview confirms that, he wouldn't do that interview if he felt hard done to.

Whilst i believe it to be mutual it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to have a respectful interview in his settlement agreement

  2. The goals we are conceding are criminal...silly jumping in to two challenges cos us yesterday. Gravel and then clarke...

defence isn't working and I don't know if a simple change in personnel will cut it. The formation is making us very leaky and it's hurting us badly. We are exposed from out wide which is a weak point for Gerrard and clarke with low crosses into the box. They need big long balls being lumped through centre which you get from shutting down the width at the back.

Watched it on Ifollow today (great stream with no issues at all). Much happier with that midfield now Banks is out and the new lads are in. Actually got bite and wants to play forward. Byrne and Bryan are two great additions.

Happy with the front two of Davies & Doyle also. Worked hard and a handful. Altho Doyle was quieter in 2nd half. What a ball for the 1st goal tho. After those two, we’ve not got a lot up top sadly. Will have to hope for more Bryan wondergoals. Not on the Holloway love train tho. Never have been. The ball should’ve stuck upfront more when he came on but never did. And that header...it felt like one of those moments you miss and expect to be punished for.

Sadly, we were punished in a suicidal moment by another lad I just don’t rate. Last season when we had to find an answer in defence, Stott shone above Edmundson yet this lad gets more time on the pitch and makes Big fuck ups. Cole should’ve scored in the 1st half after his error. That penalty is pub league stuff. I know he’s young but he just isn’t up to this level. I hope we give Stott his chance now if we are playing 3 at the back from now on.

All in all though, I felt we fully deserved the 3pts even tho the last 5-10mins were rough. Gerrard heading the ball up in the air in your own box doesn’t help. We invited them on us but they didn’t really do a lot until Edmundson struck. Really shot ourselves in the foot at both ends today. If we can sort the defence out tho and keep Davies and Doyle fit and on the pitch together then we will sail out of stormy waters, no problem. That defence does worry me tho.

Do you mind dm'ing me on how you got ifollow stream? I have the audio but living in the U.K. Haven't gone for the video...

We'll be just fine. Highest finish for a few years, in fact. Byrne, Bryan, Doyle all class acts at this level.

We were the better side away against a team who will finish top ten, let down by a kid making a silly tackle and the lack of confidence from a poor start. Our season started today.

We only have them till Jan...

I'm wondering if he will finish up at left back with Hunt at right back?

    I hope not...

    Ruddy

    clarke -Edmunson - Gerrard

    mclaughlin - Bryan - byrne - Gardner - Hunt

    davies - Doyle

would be my starting 11...I think with clarke and Gerrard either side Edmundson would be ok and add a bit more pace.

I reckon Shez would have played this 11 if It wasn't for internationals (except for edmunson). He has to change something defensively, we are leaking far too many, and the keeper isn't solely to blame..

I had staff imposed on me when I was a manager at work, some were good some were bad, but we all had to pull together.

But was your sole task to deliver results based on these staff? did you have a limited budget to work with?Apples and Pears.

Sheridan is the expert vs Corney in terms of what is needed on the pitch. If Corney was buying over and above Sheridans budget then fair enough, but we all know we don't have that luxury. I suspect corney is getting involved when he sees cash cows for the future, but at the same time is wasting budget that sheridan needs here and now in more important areas.

about Blackpool "hopefully we can go there and get a bit of confidence, in everyone. Listen, people change but this is the way I am. I don't change too much when we're winning and losing. [shakes head]. Funny football...people do change, some people. And it irritates me. And, err, unfortunately that's just the way it is with football. Sometimes."

    My thoughts were from :

    1) corney (although he would be daft to have a public dig at him with a potential new investor coming in)

    2) Gerrard, Banks or Holloway - key/regular players last season that have underperformed so far this year.

    3) I had thought Clarke but believe he is too professional to have a major disagreement with the manager and is also captain. He does have a fairly open dig at us not scoring enough goals which makes me think he is aligned to Sheridan at targeting attacking midfield/forwards for poor performance.

My money would be on 2
