Worst? Come on it's Latics, there's a catalogue over 23 seasons! Derby at home Jan '87 was a real shock, we'd been top all season, Derby in 2nd or 3rd came to BP and destroyed us 4-1, this for me was the start of the inconsistency which led us to finish 3rd...we all knew how that would finish!
Nothing can compare to the sensation of FFS! When Hughes scored THAT goal! But for sheer ineptness and crapness it has to be the 3-0 home defeat to Grimsby in Feb '97!
Best: Again too many to mention...but March 9th '93 was special as were the three consecutive wins which secured another season in the Prem - especially when the Villa win was viewed from the Holte End, scary and special at the same time. Been lucky enough to see us win at Maine Road twice but Swindon April '04 will take some beating for me. Not an obvious choice but when JJ scored the all important 2nd goal, I could have cried with relief. A team of kids, rejects and very cheap loanees had managed to survive. The current crop would do well to try and capture some of their spirit - over paid pansies!
What a dreadful game that was - Mendonca and Oster ripped us apart.

the rifle range is a latics pub with the new royle bar and will be showing the match on 3 big screens and tvs all round the pub also free food on so get yourself down there
Oaksey under a different username?
-
accordin to wigin website it only shows Kopisz, and sez he's been on loan to us...the plot thickens
Cywka is number 21, Kopisz number 28.
Come on, Jacko, do your homework!
-
Rostyn Griffiths again?
Has he not just signed for Adelaide?
I reckon it will be a centre back. Sheridan hasn't asked for a midfielder. So Corney says.
-
The lad from Wigin (tomasz Cwyzka) or summat like that, tho on the Wigin site he is now called Tomasz Kopisz, Simon mentioned he had seen him twice, Simon dosnt get all the latics games in so im certain he dosnt watch anyone else (well not certain)so he would of seen a cpl o times at BP....maybe eh?
Kopisz and Cywka are two different players, aren't they?

There's no way Hudders will finish 3rd.
This time two years ago, there was no chance Blackpool would finish third.
-
30/70 in favour of No. If we do make it in, it'll be an only just and we'll be out in the semi's like usual.
Horray for optimism.
I predict we will stumble into the playoffs in sixth place, completely out of form, and be beaten by Huddersfield in the semi's.
-
Im sure we can find something to do!
I'm out due to the Fans match being off.

If the team play better on Saturday and beyond now the window has been slammed shut.....
Hughes - Although he netted V Stockport, his eye has been well off the ball all January, huffing puffing and shoving. He is now back in the window and will be in his interest to be banging in goals. Looks like Donny were the only team really interested in signing him.
Taylor - People saying his head was down cos he didnt want to move, the Chron making him look a tit etc
Gregan - Back to his Best
Jones - A return to a great left wing partnership and understanding
We are still up there on merit - I have not really seen a team any better than (bar The Foxes)
People need to keep there head, cos some of the crap coming out of peoples mouth at Scunny was embarrassing.
Keep the faith
I find it remarkable that they are running away with this league. They didn't impress at all at our place and, if truth be told, we were unfortunate not to win the game.
MK Dons the best team I've seen this season, battered us from 4th minute until the 92nd, yet we won the game 2-0.

Chip on my shoulder? I'm pretty sure that anybody who knows me via this board or who has met me would telly you that I'm probably the least likely person to have a chip on their shoulder about anything.
"Unnecessary point scoring"? So what's with the ':censored: stirring' jibe then? Who was :censored: stirring? Seems to me that a couple of fans, me included had voiced an opinion that we thought it odd the club hadn't commented on the closure of the window.
Seems to me there there was only one of us :censored: stirring.....................
Dan, you always have a massive chip on your shoulder.
Always.

I've always thought it seems unfair in some respects that the host club end up paying the policing bill to take account of visiting fans with a reputation for not being able to control themselves.
The club choose how many tickets to give the away fans, therefore they should foot the bill.

Ooops, something went wrong somewhere.
From the BBC predictor; I updated after I entered the last result on May 2nd and didn't look at the table whilst I was going through the fixtures so I wasn't biased, and I have tried to be as honest as possible. Don't ask for the scores I can't remember them! I'll have another go some other time...

Unfortunately, Rummy, I don't think your far off the mark there.
-
Guess we have different expectations when it comes players performances. I'd only say a handful of those weren't good enough, some of the names you've included on there are laughable.
Like who?
-
Go on then, name them.
Kalala, Thompson, Byrne, Davies, COG, Maher, Livermore, Constantine, Blayney, Wood, Dabo, Molango, Miki Roque, Aljofree, Glombard, Ricketts, Robertson, O Donnell, Ormerod, Williams, Ledzgins and Byfield.
Count them.
-
Perhaps because he's never been given a run of games on the right.
And the reason for that is that he has performed excellently on the left. Keep him there.
-
Paddy, is this a game?
Lets look at Royle's buys shall we and get the "older" members to go through his signings and see what his ratio is like between good and bad buys, becasue I can tell you now there are enough of us on here to roll them off and Joe would tell you himself that he would agree with about 75% of the names we come up with.
Sometimes it just doesn't work out. Even for Taggart (although at that level the failure rate isn't as high as the better players are more able to adapt.)
In any event, I don't agree that all the names you have listed are bad buys/loans. I believe some are/were decent at least.
All a matter of opinion.
Cheers,
Harry
I can't comment on any Royle signings as I don't remember them, but what I will say is that, in twelve years in charge of a club, you are bound to have a few flops.
Sheridan has been here 2 and a half years, and already has over twenty to his name.
-
Get in, play him on the left switch Taylor to the right.
Taylor's best position is left wing. By a country mile. On the few times he has played RW this season, he has been :censored:e.
-
apart from Jones, will he change anything else at Leicester? Somehow I doubt it
He will threaten to ring the changes.............but make none.
-
What all of them?! Things to do!
Don't worry - it won't take you long at all.
-
Owen's suggestion maybe. I'm sure Shez would have the final say with him being the manager. Scouts make loads of suggestions to Shez as well, you don't think he does it all by himself do you?
A challenge for any of you, name every one of Sheridan's good signings.
-
The team may have been unsettled by all the transfer talk, especially Taylor who has got an old friend back.
Would have liked a creative midfielder but then again so would Man City.
Could have been a hell of lot worse, personally I think its been good. Might be a chance to get someone in short term on loan if we need to.
But we have to make do with Kevin Maher, whilst City can call on the services of £8 Million rated Michael Johnson.
-
Indeed, imagine if he had signed another, Hughes, Allott, Gregan, Fleming, Crossley, Hazell, Jones, Bertrand, Windass, Clarke or Kilkenny!
Windass? Clarke? Crossley? Jones?
As earlier said, he didn't bring Hughes in, Owen did.
-
But to be fair he has brought in Hughes, Fleming, Hazell, Gregan, Allott, Lee, Jones, Bertrand etc. So he's not done all that badly.
Barry Owen brought in Hughes, he brought in Fleming but refused to play him for months. Gregan, Allott and Bertrand I'll give you, but Lee has played two games and the jury is still massively out on DJ. Remember, we were unbeaten until he signed for us.
-
After, in his spell in charge, signing Kalala, Thompson, Byrne, Davies, COG, Maher, Livermore, Constantine, Blayney, Wood, Dabo, Molango, Miki Roque, Aljofree, Glombard, Ricketts, Robertson, O Donnell, Ormerod and Byfield.........
Thank God TTA didn't let Sheridan spend anymore money. (Jones excluded)
If only we had 11...

How's about singing for players who are actually out on the pitch for us?
