  1. Nice to see a bit of a feature on us. Thought that a few of Holloway's comments were well meant but a bit off the mark.

Cannot remember the first one, but the second one referred to the delay in building the gorund and was along the lines of "they need that, and they'll fill it" ...has he seen our gates?

And it was a clear handball by Hughes - don't think he would have got near it without it though. Not keen on that type of tactic if I am honest.

and he also commented on rthe fact thatOldham are a famous club

  2. on footballing abilty Wllens every time for me definitely a better fotballing brain and mor likely to create than whittaker, baring in minfddlrthough both did/do they are not in the side to side to score goals

  3. if had to make a choice ro partner hUGHesy it would be omerod then lewis then davies, just thinkDaveis makes the wrong choice when he gets into good positions omedrod is a class player at this level and i believe willl be prove to b a class signin for us

  4. Looking at that pic... If someone was stood up in front of someone sat down then the person sat down wouldnt be able too see....or are my eyes playing games?

but for christ sake why does that person have to stand in he blody first place if you wanna stand go watch non league

  5. To all those that sit down who dont like people standing, I am really intrigued about what you did pre all seater stadiums. Did you sit down in the limited seats at the side of grounds? Did you stand up with everyone else but hate it? Did you actually enjoy standing in the terraces back then? Do you prefer it now we have all have a seat?

These are serious questions by the way, i am just interested to see how or why peoples attitudes changed over the last 20 years or so.

as i started this link i will answer - i set in the ford/lookers stand or 25 years and there was never ever a problem with this seat whre mde for mmm let me think oh yes for sitting in - seems such a strange concept for the 21s st century

  6. It'd be really lovely to get Curzon Ashton or Droylsden away, but would a tie like this be likely to be switched to BP? Both grounds hold about 3,000 to 4,000 and we'd easily take that much to either club if enough tickets were available. It'd be proper interesting to see what those clubs would do with such a local tie.

i dont think cuzon ashton would move to be honest they have a cpaciity of round 4000 at the tameside sadium

i dont think chairman/ mnager at droylesden - Dave PACE would wanna move either they have a cpacity off sbout 3000 at the bUtchers Arms and i think they have bout 500 seats but would feel more comfortable on their own meadow

  7. majority of the dividions are not yet sorted with a couple of suprise packages along the way

the BIlls who normally are always consistent will win theAFC East with the Steelers winning the AFC North with a suprise package of the undefeatedTItnans winning the SOUTH from the colts, who nomally are one of he teams to do well. with the BROncos taking the title ahead of the CHagers in the WESTalthough the final game of he season between thse two teams could be a title decider

the NFC EAst is sill wide open alhough the COwboys are starting to look pretty averag(sorry STU) and i would suggest they would have to beat both the giants and the Redskins to stand a chance of taking the title

THE NORTH will come down to the packers and my team the bears again when they play each other in November and the sOUTH is widew open not sure who will take the title,

with the WEST being taken i think by the cardinals with all other teams in this division being too inconsistent this season to make a challenge unf for the usual strong 49ers

  8. Some people prefer to stand up whilst watching a game of football. If you don't want to be near people standing up, the ground has many other area's where it accommodates your type of match enjoyment as a spectator. I believe it should be common knowledge by now that fan's who are placed next to the moat in the RRE are more likely to stand persistently through most games. I know that persistent standing is against the law, however it is in my opinion a dated law and under certain circumstances like big games yesterday, it should be relaxed. I also think that persistent standing is much more enjoyable than sitting and standing every 5 minutes. So why the stewards insist on making fan's sit down is beyond me.
probably why next seaason ill move to the main stand - always porferred waatching from the side - i agree is it should be relaxed so if people sit on the sear they have paid for it could be
  9. i used to sit in its many disguises th old ford stand for20 years atl least and the chaddy enders vocally have always been crap unless we were 5 nil up after about half an hour and even for the odd cup game here and there when i sat in the chaddy end still thought vocally it was naff - now having been forced to sit in the rrE vocally it is bloody amazing and even when we went behind it was still rockin - if there is a debate reagarding this no competition RRE will win hands down

  10. I wish I had had as much opportunity to see just how crap Thompson was as others seem to have had....

at the en of the day from what i sawin mmy Humble opinion thopmson was no were near ood enough for us

it seems ok that people base on aopinion of seeing aomeone a douple of times anwhen ethey think he is good - ill use jones as an example people alreadya saying he is a class act

which i hav to agree he is but when an opinion is based in the negative it is all wrong- wot is the difference??????

  11. TOO?Good luck to Thompson who has been a very professional player in a time that will have been pretty hard with not much first team action and being injured and all. I hope I see Butcher playing for a pub side (alright I could go to Meadow Lane and see just that I suppose) for the exact opposite of that reason.
being professional maybe? but still crap - and thompson deserves to be in the same pub team aa Butcher
