  1. There has been a lot of speculation regarding Taylor as with Beckford. Im guessing you are relieved to keep him as Leeds are with Beckford. For me Keeping Beckford is far more important than signing Taylor. I do believe Leeds have the quality now without him anyway even though Taylor is a very good player for this level.
  2. He started off at Leeds badly and then improved for a period of time. He is a thoughtless player, ie goes in with very rash tackles and lucky to escape more straight red cards than he has. Last game he played (in pre season against Blackburn) he took down a player in the penalty box but got away with conceding a penalty, 3 minutes later he did exactly the same thing and the penalty was awarded. Should have been booed off!!
  3. Official text on the Leeds site. He is pants but takes a good free kick. Left back!!
  4. Saw on Sky Sports that Taylor is signing for Leeds tomorrow in a part deal with Tresor Kandol going the other way. Leeds United set to complete the signings of Chris Taylor (Oldham) & Lee Bromby (Sheffield Utd) with Tresor Kandol heading to Oldham as part of the deal for Taylor. Leeds to sign Chris Taylor from Oldham Athletic tomorrow afternoon subject to a medical, the deal is cash plus player with the fee expected to be around £400,000 plus striker Tresor Kandol on his way to Oldham.
  5. Grayson has said on the official site this morning that there will more than likely one or two of his targets to come in for competition places. the only places we need competition is left wing and right back. Whoever it is we will be signing a left winger that is good enough to give what we have competition. The only person that I now can think of that will tie in with that is Taylor. I really don't know if this is true but to be fair I wasn't sure if we were going to bring anyone else in until it was mentioned today on the O/S. I honestly think this deal is now looking likely but we will all find out in a week I guess.
  6. This story has started to become heavy this end that he will be joining us within the week, 500k. Im not sure what you have heard your end but my mate who works at Thorpe Arch training ground says there is talk in the office.(nothing official though). I do know Simon Grayson is a massive fan and we missed out on Adam Hammill 2 weeks ago who plays in the same position and Leeds are in a good position to go up after the 3rd year here. I do know Taylor is an Oldham fan though so who knows and I guess its up to him to be part of a team that could win the league this year. Ive a feeling he will be a Leeds player by next week.
  7. I dont know if he is coming to us or not. But a way of finding out if he is to leave Oldham for another club is if he plays tonight in the cup. If he is off then they wont want him cup tied. If he is not on your team sheet then you will know he is due out of the door
  8. We (Leeds) dont have a replacement for Delph. Doyle is giving competition for central midfield (for Howson and Kilkenny who is injured) Delph was a central midfielder but was played on the left wing. We do have Bradley Johnson and Robinson/Snoddy but we still haven't replaced Delph. Isn't Taylor a left winger? I heard the rumour is true that he is coming to Leeds and our manager has been told he can have a good amount after the sale of Delph. We were apparently after Adam Hammill who has just gone to barnsley but that was only a rumour also. The Taylor rumour has been cropping up for a few weeks though and I know Grayson said he is bringing 2 more players in so who knows.
  9. My friend works at Elland Road as part of the trainee accountants and knows some of the dealings that has gone on and he told me that Leeds have had a 750k bid for Taylor rejected this week but has also said there are 2 championship clubs interested in him too,Leicester being one of them. Apaprently Oldham want somewhere in the region of £1m plus add ons if he goes to Leeds and we get promoted. Since then Frazer Richardson who is our longest serving player from the premier league has been released due to not being able to come to terms with a new wage and with him being the highest earner and Leeds possibly losing Beckford it is expected for us to meet Oldham's demands. Grayson had previously put in a 500k bid.
  10. Ok you have come to the conclusion Leeds wont get him. That's fair enough, but he isn't going to hang around forever at a club that isn't really going anywhere in league one. I will guarantee if you arnt out of league one by next year then he will be gone. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays another season anyway.Didn't he sign a new deal when you were comfortably in a playoff spot? Whatever happens you will end up losing him this summer or by January if you are not in a good league position by then.
  11. Well anyway the overall point being emotional ties has nothing to do with anything, that was my point. It all depends how much we get for Beckford too. Bates has told Grayson to spend what we get for Beckford and if we did get £2m for him then there is nothing stopping Grayson upping the bid for Taylor. Seems like he has been after him for a while and rates him highly. If it goes up to say 750k for Taylor then your manager knows he could purschase 2 or 3 very good league one players for that money. You haven't got Hughes anymore and I know Oldham fans rated him so he may want the money for a striker or to bolster other areas for a playoff or promotion push. Who knows. All I do know is Grayson rates Taylor and he is after him. the rest is upto what your manager wants.
  12. Also I forgot to say Nicky Maynard is a very good striker and for this league so is Beckford. Good strikers are like gold dust and you will find strikers of that calibre will usually go for a lot more than any other player on the field.Taylor is a winger. Most (if not all) the record signings in league one have been strikers.,Nicky Maynard, freddie Eastwood etc.
  13. Look, why are you getting angry about it? Im only telling you what I know.We may not even get him I know but I was told by a reliable source that Grayson is ready to put a bid in. Coincidentally this morning there is a report on the Yorkshire Evening post too. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/leed...with.5343017.jp I would just like to say though, being a lifelong Oldham fan has nothing to do with it, if it had then the Leeds team would consist of the likes of Aaron Lennon,Micah Richards,Alan Smith and James Milner. It doesn't work like that. We will have to wait and see but someone of Chris Taylor's quality isnt going to wait around til 2013 and everyone has a price.
  14. 500k-750k is a lot of money to a league one team and not to be sniffed at. Lets remember he is untested in the Championship and no one will buy him for that.Maybe that is the idea but I would imagine 750k with clauses is probably more realistic and a very good offer for a league one player. Beckford has a £3m tag on him. Do you seriously think he will go for that? I doubt it very much.
  15. I would say no more than 750k though with clauses taking it to £1m.
