  1. Seems even their own official MK Dons website is confused, the match report has the following team

MK Dons (4-4-2): Gueret; Doumbe, Powell (Morgan 73), McCracken, Lewington ©; Gleeson, Howell (Partridge 63), Leven, Chadwick (Johnson 36); Ibehre, Wilbraham.

Subs not used: Searle, Carrington, Davis, Swailes.

Then you pan over to the Match Information section and the Line Ups and they contradict themselves

    Milton Keynes Dons

    Team Line Ups :

    Willy Gueret

    Mathias Doumbe

    David McCracken

    73 Darren Powell

    Dean Lewington

    63 Luke Howell

    Stephen Gleeson

    Peter Leven

    36 Luke Chadwick

    Aaron Wilbraham

    Jabo Ibehre

    Subs

    73 Dean Morgan

    Stuart Searle

    36 Jemal Johnson

    63/86 Mark Carrington

    Danny Swailes

    Sol Davis

    86 Richie Partridge

 It is all very confusing for sure

  2. Well I know I have achieved success at last in brainwashing my children.

It has taken me 8 years of bombarding my eldest boy with Latics, but I feel it was worth the effort as today the lad made my day.

After a days slog at the office, the first thing my 8 year old son tells me is "Dad I have to do a project for school".

Which means dad I need you help doing this project; oh I retort, is it plants again or dinosaurs.

However to my surprise the little cherubs have been given carte blanche to create a project of their own.

The little fella then brightens my day up and I know the hard work has finally paid off when he chirrups "dad I know what I am doing - I am doing my project on Oldham Athletic".

Job done  I am looking forward to his project now B)

  3. Good luck for the future Sean, Latics Legend.

Not even close to legend status.

He symbolises everything wrong with the Latics this season, his off the field antics have had a detrimental affect on both the team and his individual performances.

His ability as a captain are very questionable with his ability to blame everybody bar himself.

Admittedly on his day he could be immense when he was dealing with big strikers and had to head the ball, he had composure on the ball also. However his lack of pace cost us goals many times this season.

I for one am glad he has gone and would have been disappointed if Penney kept him

  4. It was indoctrinated into my kids at an early age, now they are 8 and 6 my work is done - they are latics through and through and the bonus of hating ManUre also.

My eldest has to be Oldham on FIFA 09 - obviously I have to let him beat me :naughty::blush:

Now I am working on my nephews, a much harder task as they don't get much influence from their parents, but they know their Uncles allegiance and hopefully I can use many forms of persuasion/blackmail and the promise of sweets if they come to BP to make sure I have that positive influence. :D

  5. Spread the word as much as possible, viral e-mail campaigns - send it to all members on this board for a starters.

Use Facebook etc etc to spread the word.

To drag people back without knowing the manager is difficult, let alone any players whom have dragged the clubs name through the mud.

The club needs a feel good factor to stir the blood in the old ST holders; any adverts/flyers/posters etc need to pitch it properly.

Maybe the club can go a step further with another set amount off if STs reach 6k - aim big

Flyers in schools, the kids can take them home to their parents in schools throught the borough - get the council onboard :)

  6. I think Joe Royles appointment has galvanised the supporters once again.

The lasr few weeks had split the supporters into the two very vocal opposing camps; personally I had lost the belief in Mr Sheridan being the man for the job and taking this club onward and upward.

If nothing else Oldham Atheltic has been very much in the news over the recent weeks with the Pink Shirts, Whinge-arse blog; the dogs and now Joe Royle returning to the club after 15 years.

Not dull anyway, at least the news worthy Oldham Athletic has hopefully ended on a high and let that be the end of it now until Joe leads us to the Championship.

I believe that even the worst moaners will have had their emotions stirred enough by Big Joes appointment to keep their mouths shut for longer than normal when they want to moan.

I hope the players feel as enthused as the supporters do; I am sure the younger lads, especially Chris Taylor, will have that same feeling with a legend returning to the club and knowing they can now be part of a famous times rather than infamous times.

It was a downward spiral with John Sheridan in charge and once the rot had set in it would have been very difficult to remove and things would have got worse and more bitter - not good for the manager, players or more importantly the club. This is about the club not one person and in the end as much as people liked John Sheridan as a man/player far too many did not like him as a manager for their own reasons.

Joe coming back has lifted the dark clouds, just seeing him on the news or listenting to him on the radio has inspired the fans again. If nothing else that is a step in the right direction for a brighter future no matter what happens this season.

The future, well that is something else and maybe not soemthing we should worry aobut right now, maybe we should just enjoy the moment and what will hoepfully turn out to be an exciting final run in to the end of the season. I have advocated previously a director of football to help John Sheridan and though that Joe would be the man; maybe he would not want that and would want to be the manager still. I think John Sheridan needed the guiding hand of experience, it was soemthing that wasn't there with his right hand men being Tommy and Dux - nothing against them but no experience between them in managing.

After this Joe should hopefully play some part in the club, whether it be as manager or director of football, the man is Oldham Athletic, the fans love him and right now he has brought light where there was darkness and we are all smiling once again and showing a united harmonius front.

  7. :tongue1: If you wanted him back then why would you cup tie your striker?

You wouldn't unless you werent going to to be the FA Cup long enough for it to matter or you aren't going to be bringing him back to the club for him to play in the cup with you anyway.

O'Grady wasnt allowed to play in the FA Cup, so why was Davies if you wanted to bring him back?

Doesn't take any inside knowledge to figure that one out :tongue1:

  8. My son has won tickets :D

As he is only 5 it was a big surprise for him - andnot all of them, they had a draw to get them in school - dunno how many tickets for his school but at least 5 lots of 4 tickets.

Though this does mean I won't bein the Chaddy End - I Checked with the CLub and they stated that the will have a word with the turnstile Operatives to let people in with tickets for other parts of the ground if there is room :D

Get more kids interested in Latics - that said my kids don't have a choice and have been brainwashed already :latics:

Managing to drag some so called Man U fans along as well - see if I can get some more converts.

These schemes do get kids supporting the club - it worked with me when I got some freebies many moons ago from school

    :comeon:

  9. I wonder if he can read English? Perhaps we needed to find someone who could translate English to Bengali or whatever?

Come on dont show yourself up to be an idiot, by stating such nonsense you are turning the whole argument into something else and not somewhere any of us want to go.

I initially only addressed my emails to those Councillors who had voted against Planning Permission. Of these, Councillor Iqbal is the only one that hasn't replied to any of my emails. I have sent numerous chase-ups, all polite. I am not aware of anyone who has received a reply from him.

Well OAFC-OK you are very lucky as I have a long list of those whom havent replied to me, including messrs Bashforth, Larkin, Pendlebury, Wheeler and Iqbal from the infamous 7. Then to my subsequent scatter gun email to all the councillors and MPs - I have had no reply from any of the 7 bar Wheeler and a whole heap of other ones either. So please behave and don't try and being into question peoples grasp of the English language no matter what race, creed or colour they maybe as this argument is nothing to do with that it about the football club and moving it into the 21st century andthe benefits this provides to whole town.

  10. Better doing something than nothing surely, then moaning about things when they don't go right!

Frankly it's the planning committee that have backed themselves into a corner, but by the application (slightly varied) being resubmitted they are getting a chance to escape from said corner and do the right thing and not for short sighted, selfish reasons.

The more they think the consensus is against them, then the better it is - this is democracy in action :icon_peace:

  11. Mine was a little longer from my Waterhead ward councillor - don' think i can leave it there though :naughty:

    Dear Mr Haigh,

Thank you for your email, which is one of many I have received. I note what you say, and appreciate the trouble you have gone to. I am not a Planning Committee member, but I trust my colleagues to weigh all arguments carefully. As you probably know, they have a duty to keep an open mind and make an independent decision, rather like a jury.

    Sincerely,

    Lynne Thompson
