  1. Absolutely not. Penney has signed pish poor players. That's the problem.

Brill has lost us god knows how many points. We only have two centre halves on our books and one is now injured. Keigan Parker is a fat, little ****. Furman only plays from side to side... in his own half. Colbeck is League 2 at best. Abbott is our only striker.

We're watching the worst Latics team for many a year.

    E4e

    OARIP

could,nt agree with you more, the blue shirt they put on is not just a football shirt its a religion, and it should be the players part to play in that.

  2. You know, TTA have made some pretty bad decisions regarding managers, but whenever they have secured a new manager not one, and I mean not a single soul came on ranting and raving about it being the wrong choice. Not until hindsight has well and truly taken over.

They've tried everything, from cult heroes (Shez, BF Joe), managers with track records of promotions (Talbot, Moore) and now opting for a no-nonsense manager who knows the lower leagues (Penney). Whilst the jury is well and truly out with him, you have to admit that picking a manager to take us on and give us a team to be proud of hasn't been easy. In fact, if anything, they've pressed the trigger at the wrong times.

I agree they have but penneys permanent signings have left a lot to be desired , apart from abbott,60,000 for colbeck what a waste of money , parker i,ve seen more commitment and passion in a corpse and the rest have either been injured or not played because of injuries which afew of them came with.

  3. sadly we lost again to a good team of Norwich i hate to say that penney will be going because corney will act like he did with shez penney is not special atall and if we lose on sat v Excter then folks he will be gone who knows he may go now i hate to say this.

As a oldham fan i cant see all this happening all the time surely we can get a decent boss in for once and for all.

penney was a p**s poor choice in the first place he was only signed because they got him on the cheap, typical of tta recently,i know they came in and saved the club but the way they are going about things now its going exacly the same way as before.the next three games i can see going the same way as the past games, heffernan was supposed to come in and make a difference ,he gets taken off 4 mins into 2nd half and replaced with one of the worst players that has pulled on a latics shirt, that tells me penney is tactically inept and should go before he is pushed.

  4. I think now would be an ideal time to start.

start what ? tta must be satisfied by what they see each week because nothing has changed for the past few weeks, lets face facts all the tta are bothered about is getting the ground (that everybody is against)built and everything else can go and f**k off so long as they make a mint.then they will walk away without looking back

  5. :ranting::ranting:

...and what :censored:loads of money can do for you.

We are dull, dour, boring and a million other ways of putting it. But, what the hell else can you do when you have little money and half of your team has seen more doctors than fans this season.

well the only person you can blame for the majority of the early injuries is the piss poor pyhsio these past 2 seasons half the team have been injured before the season has started due to his (lets get in early & get fitter than the rest of the teams )policy.

  6. The total number of goals in our league games is 29 (13 scored, 16 against). By far the lowest in our league.

Our attendances are amongst the lowest in our league and have been dropping in recent years.

The atmosphere at games has been described by our fans and others as awful (see Hudds cartoon match report) and we are nowhere near filling our ground.

We are at a standstill in terms of progressing as a club until things are sorted with the new stadium, at least a couple of years away.

Although not being awash with cash, we are not seriously financially unstable.

We are not in urgent danger of relegation (yet) but are nowhere near challenging the top six.

The squad is small but full of hard-working, honest and seemingly decent characters...but how many of our players would anyone call inspiring?

This is how our last 3 games have been decided:

Hudds - a speculative free kick badly dealt with by our 'keeper. But barring that set-piece not many incidents in the game.

Leeds - an excellent but hopeful long range shot and a goal on the break with the team committed up the pitch. Not much happened apart from that.

Today - listened to most of it, lost due to by the sounds it a harsh penalty. Again barring that not much happened.

In all three games, we've created next to nothing.

I'm happy with our defence being boring and, looking at the games above, they've not been making many mistakes and have been mostly unlucky. But if we continue to be so poor going forward the defence will be put under so much pressure in the future that they are sure to make more mistakes.

The only quick fix I can think of is by getting in an exciting striker who can jolt this place back into life with consistency, pace and finishing. Unfortunately I think we would struggle to afford this kind of player. However, I really think we should push the boat out if we can find this striker as imo it is the difference between us being described as hard to beat and well...boring.

    ...

Still, can't wait for the Exeter game! :scarf001:

penney needs to start looking at huddersfield games on dvd to see what a half decent team can acheive playing with confidence & a sense of optimism, not the total crap he expects the fans who pay bloody good money to watch week in week out

  7. Parker bottled it a couple of times and produced his usual performance, plenty of running, but no bottle or spirit and no end product. Brill is clearly not up to the job, with yet another shoddy goal conceded - I'm not having that the free kick was anything special; their guy just hit it, without any venom or curl. We could see the gap left by the wall and Brill in the Chaddy End. Hazell was very poor with his distribution, and the midfield was none existent. I want to like Smalley, but he hardly touched the ball second half, very disapointing. I hope that Penney still has the gutless shower of sh1t locked in; cliche, but if I looked as disinterested as that lot today, I would be sacked from my job. As for the posts blaming Taylor these are laughable; he is the one player in the squad who is capable of playing in the top 2 divisions.

As a side note, notice how there was no man of the match announced? It would have been very difficult to pick one today. Even our old mate T Kettle did his best to assist us, denying Udders a definate penalty.

I'm waiting for TTA or their mouthpiece the trust to take a pop at our support again, as we filled our 3 sided ground, and a great crowd was let down by a disinterested bunch of journeymen.

must agree with you about parker he should never have been on the pitch . brill is not or ever will be a keeper while he has a hole in in his a**e ,penney is inept, as far as tactics go he is cr*p all he wants to do is justify the cr*p players he has brought in .the latics players of old have always played with passion i,ve not seen that this season yet and i do,nt think i will all season because penney has,nt got what it takes to be a latics manager .but while we have a little sh*t like hardy pulling tta strings things will never change

  8. Again, I didn't say that, but he would have been right up there if we had heald onto him. So basically those 3 players who have been targetted by the booboys were in no way deserving of it. Brill was very good in his early seasons at Luton, as many of the Luton fans have said and he was tipped for big things, they say he has more gone off the boil than anything, you don't just lose your talent. Consistency seems an issue, but he isn't a bad keeper really, people are far too harsh on him. A bad error today but he has played well 5 games in a row, should we be warming up the guillotine on that basis?

is that going to be that the answer when it comes down to the wire when we have to rely on him to keep us in the 1st div i wouldnt put my house on him and i dont think a lot of other latics fans would either

  9. you've had your chance, you are a friggin joke :ranting:

not only is brill a joke todays tactics were c**p parker should have been taken off at half time and to put lee at right back is a persons absolute brain dead decision can,t say anything good today about the teams tactics at all apart from amateur

    :ranting:
