I have taken  part in many due diligence exercises for much more significant business than OAFC and it is entirely fair to say that the DD can only be as good as the information provided.  However, it is inconceivable that any vaguely competent DD exercise could have failed to identify that the bank accounts hadn't been properly reconciled for years.

Quite. To have not done any research, from open public domain sources, to have worked out a timeline of events from TTA reign up to the point at which Mr. Lemsagam was conducting his due diligence, also seems nothing short of negligent IMO.

Incidentally, remember the much discussed hmrc raid story which majored on the collecting boxes of files in a van… was that actually the forensic accts he mentioned then or was there other proof it was hmrc?

We asked him about the HMRC raid and he confirmed the £882k contingent liability in the accounts relates to this. So, it was a real thing.

Been taking a look through the list for the earliest period, and noticed a couple of televised games which don't appear:

Crystal Palace 1-0 Latics (23 Sept 1978, BBC Match of the Day). I recall Barry Davies commenting that 'Oldham haven't got off the coach yet', a reference to their disjointed play in the early stages of the game.

Man City 0-0 Latics (4 May 1985, Granada). Latics thwarting Man City's promotion hopes, there's a very brief shot of an angry looking Jimmy Frizzell (City's assistant manager) leaving the pitch at the final whistle. City had a player sent off in a turbulent second half, and Darren McDonough had a headed goal disallowed for Latics. I recorded a ten-minute highlights version from 'The Big Match' on a Betamax tape when I lived in London. I may still have the tape, but don't have any machine to play it on. There's a possibility that it might have been transferred  many years ago to VHS or DVD, so I'll have a good search for that!

If you can find the VHS, I can convert it to digital file and upload it to a platform for everyone to view.

A quick heads up.  The Big Match Revisited featuring Chelsea v Latics from May 1980 is on ITV 4 next Saturday, 31 July.  It's listed as the first match so may be longish highlights.

Cheers. A 3-0 defeat. I’ll try to record it, convert it, upload it and post it in here….

I've done a DVD of the1990/91  promotion season from the official VHS.  I guess  though due to copyright issues extracts can't be used.

Of course they can, it's a 30 year old VHS, that you can't buy anymore. Much of what I had, I converted, uploaded to Daily Motion & placed it in the 1990/91 post above. If you have anything that's missing then get it uploaded and I'll edit the post; although there is the Fishul season review in there from 'exnoless' on Daily Motion already.

Spot on with the Sunderland 1975-76 memory! Just no sign of it on YouTube – Sunderland are pretty good at putting up clips where they exist so possibly ‘lost’.

They also have a stats site with details of individual games: http://www.thestatcat.co.uk/Match.aspx?MatchID=1425&LU=S&LUID=97

This is a great resource for Granada/ITV games, shows that one and several others featuring Latics which are also seemingly lost:

There must be footage from other regions too, hope more can be found.

That's superb, I'll list all the missing games in the 1st post in this thread....

A couple more away defeats to add to the list here, snippets from Sunderland in 1975-76 and 1977-78 – Steve Taylor’s goal in 1977 not shown but a couple of saves in the first by Chris Ogden and some vintage sloppy defending throughout… sounds like both must be The Big Match so not sure if there is more footage out there?

Cheers. All updated in the original post. Anyone else knows of any that are missing, please let me know....

....I found it refreshing there seems to be a plan which revolves around youth and the academy in particular......

...is there? Karl seemed to be going off piste (and good on him) to me in an attempt to bring the Academy & Paul Murray into the bosom of the club, given that it had, and I quote...

    "...it's been left to drift....".

This all under the watch of our great Sporting Director. What Sporting Director who was any good, wouldn't be working closely with the Academy?

"Mo tends to concentrate on recruitment & training the 1st team, he does have an interest [sic in the Academy], but I don't think he's got that skill set"

  10. Zak Mills scored for Port Vale as they beat Scunny away.

Peter Clarke and Ollie Banks (sub) lost at home to Harrogate on Pens.

Danny Gardner came on as Sub as the Platics lost to Fleetwood.

Eoin Doyle drew a blank against Bradford, which they must’ve enjoyed.

    Good day all round really.

Would like to draw Morecambe in the next round.

Oh come on! It’s abit of rivalry. Let’s be fair the only reason he is there is for pocket money. Any job in pro football in England and he would be back.

He isn’t far wrong with the standard though is he?

I’m fully expecting him to take over at Swindon as soon as Wellens moves on....
